The owner of hate forum Tattle Life has today been legally named as Sebastian Bond. He also goes by the alias Bastian Durward. He has tried to flee to Asia to avoid paying his legal costs.

I agree. How many influencers have all said they dont read their threads? If they don't read it, can it be harassment? Where do you draw the line? Does someone commenting on a mail article get done for harassment if they say they dont like Katie Prices hair and think she's ugly?

I think if it were to go the criminal case as well, it would probably require a very high threshold for prosecution and how long would it take considering the courts are full? And theres no way these influencers would want their dirty laundry to come out in the wash.

I agree, I think the best option is for site to be closed. People haven't been moderated appropriately but it seems like the site itself hasn't been ran properly for a long time

What exactly was said about the Sands?

I'm not sure but they have stated stalking and people coming to their house. So i think those are the people theyre going after?

I don’t actually know. Had never heard of them or their thread.
Reckon something defamatory relating to their business and then they must have lost earnings as a result.

Toastedpickle · 19/06/2025 20:23

With respect, this thread is going round and round in circles. As are the influencers - not a sniff of legal action, sorry, ‘class action law suits’ 🫢 or outing of users yet! Hmmm very strange !

VeryStressedMum · 19/06/2025 23:26

I wonder how far they will be able to take action against the posters, if any.
Like others have said where would the line be drawn, go onto the comments on the Daily Mail or spend a few minutes on X (Twitter) and it would make tattle seem like a love fest. Reddit is exactly the same.

Although I've never heard of either of them (and I'm in NI) fair play to the Sands for achieving what they have.

Many years ago I went onto tattle after hearing an influencer talk about it and I was gobsmacked. I posted a message in defence of an influencer as they were talking about her child and all sorts of awful things. I got a load of abuse back, someone telling me to go read something detailing all the things the influencer had done (no idea what that was) and I also got a warning message from tattle that I was derailing the thread and I had to check a box that I understood the rules of the site.
So the rules obviously were only say nasty things don't say anything nice and don't call out another member for their vileness about a child.

Perhaps have a look at Tattlers Unmasked on insta. They are naming and shaming. Good.

That doesn't do anything except doxx people though? It's not a legal route and any influencer getting involved there would be in trouble.

I think it would be difficult to get accusations to stick on random Tattlers. Someone i know knows someone who has a stalker. There's so much evidence with texts saying they know where they are, they have followed them home, theyre doing it to not just them but other people. It didnt go to court because theres not enough evidence...

Remmy123 · 20/06/2025 07:33

Went to have a nose on tattlers unmasked but it's a closed account and don't want to follow - what's on it?

I think that’s where some of the perhaps higher profile tattlers (the ones who have posted time and time again about the same influencer) and have mentioned some identifiable things in comments like jobs or where they live and can be “unmasked”. But to me then that’s “doxxing” which is actually illegal. So I wouldn’t be doing that if I was them!

How is it this any different to Tattle plus and what about the doxxing issue?

butterdish93 · 20/06/2025 08:07

If people think Mumsnet is just as bad, they are kidding themselves.

there was a thread on tattle a couple of years ago about a fairly un known celeb who lost her baby during childbirth. It was probably the vilest, scariest thing I’ve ever read. People egging each other on to stand outside her house and harass her, people blaming her and slagging off the appearance of her first child. I couldn’t believe it.

baggybags · 20/06/2025 08:09

I don't know that many threads on Tattle but there was a thread on MNs just yesterday about H&M which was awful imo.

I find tattle deeply unpleasant.

But if the influencers etc have any sense they will try and retain the moral high ground and not get involved in doxxing

TimeForABreak4 · 20/06/2025 08:23

Having read about Tattle and this issue for a few days now, whilst I believe the site should absolutely shut down I had no idea it was also used by people not slagging others off and that there is other sections on there that is used for Style, pregnancy chat etc.

If they out all the users on Tattle thinking they all go on there to slag them off it would be pretty shocking and I'm sure ALOT of people would think very badly of them. I think they really need to be careful how they do this or it could turn out really bad for their business/influencing. You can't just out every person who is registered on a website and tar them all with the same brush. None of them seem to be recognising that.

Through doxxing? Literally just adding to the points raised that they know absolutely nothing about the legal system and are making everything up - doxxing will ruin their chances of any legal case for defamation (not that there is any). In fact, they could also find themselves in trouble for doing it.

OneLoudTiger · 20/06/2025 10:06

Tattlers Unmasked is vile and spews more hatred than Tattle itself.

Dollshousedolly · 20/06/2025 11:57

If anyone is worried about any Instagram account posting about this they should report the posts and accounts to Instagram.

CandiedPrincess · 20/06/2025 15:01

The thing is the Tattlers Unmasked account could literally be taking any user and linking them to ANYONE in real life. There is no evidence or proof. They are as bad as any Tattlers.

I agree

I joined Tattle when digital spy closed its discussion forums and members were giving options on where to go, it seemed to be between Tattle and AV forums.

So I've been on all of the off topic and real crime, style threads and never the influencers and so called nasty ones.

On those particular threads the members are actually lovely. On here I see a relatively harmless topic where the originator gets pulled to pieces.

The doxing and stalking stuff is another level, and the moderation needs to be tighter and posts immediately removed, but if you put your life out there and make money from it there's always those that will like or dislike you and I wouldn't want a world where free speech is denied either.

Lalawy22 · 20/06/2025 16:36

People are talking about stalking and harassment.. surely stalking would be contacting the person etc and torturing them I don’t understand it all

Brogues · 20/06/2025 16:37

I’ve spent the past couple of days reading/watching the media/influencers/tattle and realised there is fault on all sides.

I only followed a few of the influencer threads previously and tended to dip in and out if they crossed my mind. I only remember one instance of a Rightmove posting but it had been taken down promptly. Some ‘social services should be called’ but no one saying they’d actually do it. Reposts of kids photos (from the instagram posts) scribbled out to highlight rather than disseminate identifying information. Certainly no death threats. There looks to have been some tattle postings that have gone beyond what I would reasonably consider to be social commentary aka bitching. I’ve always taken the nothing goes off tattle and into real life at face value though I possibly see that from the perspective that I wouldn’t say anything my grandma would be shocked to hear anyway.

There have been some excruciatingly embarrassing instagram posts highlighting said bitching and driving more people to tattle to see WTF it’s all about. There seems to be a lot of ‘they’ posts being made (including on here - sorry about your experiences @Roobarbtwo) conflating tattle posts and other stalking that may or may not be by tattle members. Actual stalking should be taken more seriously by the police. Tattlers are no more guilty by association than instagram followers. Also tales of anyone not agreeing with instagrammers of being accused of being tattlers and the dogs being let loose on them on instagram. Many many influencers I’ve never ever heard of jumping on any kind of bandwagon they can to get more views.

The media have also been highlighting bitchy posts - eek at some of those! I bet Clemmie Hooper just wants to hide everytime tattle is in the mainstream press. I think it was The Guardian commentators who thought The Guardian were being mean about a trans man rather than the TL expose. DM have clearly always had tattlers in their ranks and you can certainly see some sock puppets in the DM comments. The Irish paper that detailed the search for the owner was a great piece and I’m hoping for a Netflix doc on it. I have a little bit of a thread to pull on that at some point…

The doxxing of tattlers by iamelliegrey (and then reposted by others) doesn’t sit right with me as there is too much scope for getting the wrong person entirely. Sending emails to a persons employer on the back of it too! My lips pursed at that. I fear the reposting will get some people into hot water.

No one is smelling of roses with all the muck slinging and I will be taking time reassessing who I follow/read/where I post.

Whatever TL’s website’s future, they need to ban ANY discussion of ANY child. Full stop. Disgusting that it’s allowed in the first place.

I agree but I also think there needs to be regulations on influencers,YouTubers using their children. They've not consented to this
