The owner of hate forum Tattle Life has today been legally named as Sebastian Bond. He also goes by the alias Bastian Durward. He has tried to flee to Asia to avoid paying his legal costs.

Yeah I’ve really had my eyes opened to it all. Being on there literally just for a couple of instagrammers I was interested in and joined in the commentary I had no idea some really horrid doxxing and defamation was going on. I also enjoyed the news threads- followed it for the updates on that nurse who killed the babies for example.
I really hope most of it is lies because like I said I did like Caroline H and still want to! I wonder why they start threads on certain celebs, for example I don’t see them go after say, Jade from Little mix?

HolaEspanola · 16/06/2025 23:17

Also- this is where I don’t understand online commentary- Dan Hodges from the DM just said Keir S KNEW about the grooming gangs scandal and did nothing.
Couldnt this be libel if it then came out that he didn’t? How comes he can write this so brazenly? This is the thing I think when it comes to policing opinions on the internet- Yes tattle is disgusting but there’s not a lot you can do when it’s opinions?

CalicoPusscat · 16/06/2025 23:19

I don't think that most forums delete all of your comments if you dereg? Can't imagine MN do

ElizaTh0rnberry · 16/06/2025 23:47

Some influencers are now doing interviews with the Mail.
If theyre doing interviews I would argue they have no live court cases going on? I really think theyre just pushing for shut down. Trying to get as much traffic out there as possible

Agreed. Like I said for it to go the way of ask.fm. It was so vile and vicious everyone said boycott it but the government or no one could actually intervene to shut it down until it did so itself.

Disclaimer! Not suggesting they do lol I was just listening to Jade and used her as an example of a celeb lol

Is part of the issue maybe also these Instagramers are paranoid that some of the stuff is coming from people they know IRL?? I can imagine you’d want to find out who.

For those saying they can’t wait for the users to be named and shamed surely you could say that about this site? Some disgusting comments made here on almost every post.

The comments made here aren’t a personal attack spanning pages and pages. I’ve never seen anyone attack a child’s appearance on Mumsnet.

I’ve seen racist, homophobic, fatphobic and ablest comments to name a few.

EconomyClassRockstar · 17/06/2025 03:19

I"ve seen at least 5 influencers/content creators discussing this today on TikTok. Tbh, the thing I'm taking away from most of their posts is that they are probably a bit too sensitive to be CC's. Two in particular are literally non stop with how they only want "love" and "positivity" and "we work so hard on this". Everyone in a job works hard but that doesn't mean they are exempt from progress reviews. Movies aren't exempt from bad reviews just because of the effort that was made to make them.

I personally, have just blocked them because that way they don't make any money from the fact I find them irritating and they can keep boo hoo hooing without me even knowing or caring and we can all get on with our days.

ElizaTh0rnberry · 17/06/2025 07:09

Don't forget as well the Johnny Depp trial where he sued the sun for calling him a wife beater and the judge allowed it. That was a ridiculously long and expensive trial. These influencers have nowhere near the money Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had. All these interviews are just them pushing for the site to get shut down.

I'm not sure the release of his name means anything considering its been 2 years since the court case? Are those pictures of them outside court this week or from 2 years ago?

LuckysDadsHat · 17/06/2025 08:14

They have just been on good morning britain saying how toxic the site is etc..... wanting it closed down.

Geez you’re obviously living a very sheltered life.

Have a SEN kid and we were picked on constantly at the school gates (subtlety, but blatant enough to know it was happening)

I generally only lurk now on MN threads as the abuse is shocking.

Influencers can’t spout holier than thou at Tattle when they behave they way they do. Whilst I don’t disagree there aren’t some shocking threads on Tattle - like everything on the internet, scroll on by, don’t get involved.

Everyone also seems to forget how some of the original Insta Hun influencers sent people to tattle and had fake accounts slagging their fellow Insta Hun mates.

people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones

scoopoftheday · 17/06/2025 09:13

I'd say if names/emails were revealed we'd find half the users are also influencers!

When they say "we have been told to screenshot usernames" who by? What good is that going to do? Do they assume people use the same username on all social media?

I assume it’s that if the site is shut down they will still be able to trace the user to email etc if that information is obtained during a court case.

Daisyqueen45 · 17/06/2025 09:29

I’ve seen a couple more videos of influencers telling their ‘tattle stories’ both said they found their threads and started reading them every day and every single comment about themselves. They both said it had a huge impact on their mental health and ruined their whole life generally at that time.
I’m not really sure what I think about this.

baggybags · 17/06/2025 09:32

Celebs always say don't google yourself, surely that's the same for influencers. For every person who thinks you are beautiful, a great actor, singer, etc another will think you are unattractive, untalented etc.

I imagine the evidence would be screenshots of house plans or suggesting they've called social services.

I think the best thing that can happen now is the site gets shut down and the government puts in proper legislation regarding gossip sites but also regarding influencers and holding them to account.

Because whilst it's not nice to read things about yourself online, it's also bloody horrible to film your kids every move and monetise their childhood.

Jojo1123 · 17/06/2025 09:58

I think the difference with tattle is some users are on the same threads, day in and day out obsessing over certain influencers. Of course it's ok to have an opinion and speak out on issues but the nasty comments I've seen there is VILE. The Becki Jones threads for example. All commenting on her looks, making memes calling her fat & ugly. It truly got to her in the end & instead of doing something silly (we're friends & she confided in me) she needed to quit social media. A place she built to make her own income.

I've seen people obsess over where influencers live, finding exact locations. that's beyond creepy.

I don't have an account there, I read friends threads when it was getting to them (I'm an influencer, I don't have my own thread thank god) and if you're one of the people saying he site 'isn't too bad' and 'it's just a gossip forum' you're either one of the people who spend their lives wanting to hurt others, or you're truly oblivious to just how bad SOME of the threads can be.

Also people saying just ignore it... it's not that easy is it?
When people are constantly making lies about you, your family & are finding out where you work, live etc... of course you're going to look!

baggybags · 17/06/2025 10:02

The whole influencer thing is very shady though with lots of blurred boundaries and this is where problems arise. You essentially become the brand and some people buy into that and some people hate it, like every brand.

baggybags · 17/06/2025 10:05

People say awful things about people in the public eye though, it's just a fact. Look at the awful things said about the survivor of the Air India plane crash.

I think the vitriol directed at Harry & Meghan on here & other places is very similar.

Totally, but having a site where comments aren' moderated correctly & allowing people to say defamatory things shouldn't exist don't you think?
