Anyone else appalled and shocked at Dawn French's social media video mocking the reaction to the terror attack in Israel on Oct 6th. What on earth was she thinking ? She comes across as horrible and lacking in any empathy. I feel sorry for the innocent people on both sides of this war, in Palestine and in Israel.

Lots of people have openly said/shown that they don’t think Oct 7th was a big deal. Almost from
Oct 8th. It’s more or less forgotten. This is not normal and wouldn’t have been the case if it happened to any other country IMO, and is absolutely driven by an ingrained hatred for Jewish people.

This awful woman has been emboldened by that to show her true feelings and probably honestly believes a lot of people will agree with her that it was just a ‘bad thing’ while mimicking ‘whiny’ Jews.

So many people have swallowed Hamas propaganda. Not because it’s in any way believable or makes sense because it absolutely doesn’t, but just because they have an ingrained hatred of Jews.

Someone just said the war in Gaza is a ‘revenge’ attack for instance. Do they regard every other war a revenge attack? Think Israel has no meaningful reason to dismantle Hamas as it is not a threat to Israel?

If she'd said the exact same thing and just said 'Israel' or 'them' instead of 'to us' I doubt people would have been as bothered, because then she wouldn't have been saying anything more than literally everyone else - which is (apparently) the whole point she was trying to make - people repeating the same old tired talking points to justify the unjustifiable.

by saying 'to us' in the stupid baby voice, even if it wasn't what she intended, it could be reasonably interpreted as specifically mocking the victims of October 7th (because they were the people the 'bad thing' was done to), who were obviously not in any way responsible for the actions of their government after their murder.

She's a comedian. She knows the power of words, how just one can entirely change a meaning or make a joke, that's literally what she spent her entire career doing.

I don't judge her for opinion that what's happening in Palestine is horrific, genocidal, completely immoral and unjustifiable - it's an opinion I share. I judge her for expressing that opinion poorly.

I think that’s the point she is making! The whingy voice is the voice of those who are justifying tit for tat atrocities. Both sides justify their actions because of the ‘ bad things’ the other did.

To be fair these useful idiots don't actually know why they love Palestine and hate Jews, it's performative.
They don't know why they turn a blind eye to the absolute the barbarism targeted towards Jewish civilians on 10/7; they don't know why they never call out Hamas; they don't know why they equate the civilian casualties of a Hamas initiated war in Gaza (a state which has clearly set out to commit actual genocide on Jews- no equivocating -wtf is Israel supposed to do?) with the terrorist rapes, murders and ongoing hostage-taking of Israelis/Jews.

Yes, Israel has a right to defend itself. Yes, they have every right to get rid of Hamus but they don’t have every right to kill innocent people by the thousands. And yes, they are starving them to death.
It’s a genocide, pure and simple. The western world is looking away as it’s literally white versus brown.
