I am back on Mumsnet potentially briefly I was on here a lot from around 2009 to maybe 2012 when my children were small and i was deep in sleepless nights etc etc all seems a distant memory now mine are teens. I’ve flitted in and out very briefly over the years. But really I remember when this was all fields 😂.

Are there any long term posters still going? I had an accident so my memory isn’t that great but so far on my brief travels I am yet to see any familiar names on any threads.

id update you all on my car crash life but I seriously doubt anyone remembers me its been that long

2024 joiner here 👋

It's a bit hectic, especially on aibu. It's better than twitter though, of which I was an avid user before 'graduating' onto a more adult site

But I've found chat to be a nice enough board, with some good posters

Sorry to hear you've had an accident which affected your memory 🥺💕, do share if you wish x

Zonder · 22/04/2025 19:56

I joined in 2005 or 6 when I had a baby but I had a different name then!

GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen · 22/04/2025 19:58

I've been around since about when you joined but I name change fairly regularly so I was here but not under this name (and I can't remember what name I used back when it was all fields and penis beakers as my previous name list is pretty long).

I joined in 2008 but have had a million names since

LindorDoubleChoc · 22/04/2025 19:59

Hiya Dog. I think I remember you due to a very sad event with your pony?

MilitantFawcett · 22/04/2025 19:59

I joined in 2006 but have had numerous name changes since then. God, that’s nearly 20 years…

DanceMumTaxi · 22/04/2025 19:59

I joined in 2012 I think, but I’ve name changed lots.

HaddyAbrams · 22/04/2025 20:00

I've probably been here about as long as you @D0g . Many many name changes though.

Popquorn · 22/04/2025 20:02

I’m a serial name changer, so you won’t recognise me!

Perkuppaige · 22/04/2025 20:03

Welcome back! Been around too since about 2006 but prolific name changer.

Oistinemup · 22/04/2025 20:06

I’ve been on Mumsnet since about 2009- have had many name changes

@mumofoneAlonebutokaybasically I have had a turbulent past with broken bones and accidents but in 2023 I managed to give myself a traumatic brain injury! I was fetching my horse in from the field rushing as late for farrier, I do not remember the accident but basically i made a very silly schoolboy error of popping on my horse to ride in as quicker with no hat on.

I was found struggling to breathe and unconscious I believe I was woken briefly by the air ambulance ( I don’t remember that at all) they I think either sedated me or put me into a medically induced coma. I think I was in a coma for a week then hospital left me unattended shortly after i was moved closer to home (I was like a child) I fell from the bed and acquired a third brain bleed on the other side of my brain, not ideal. I then had post traumatic amnesia for I think bang on 3 weeks i have slight memories of this time they feel like very drunk memories. I was completely gaga, thought I had had a baby, was at butlins, in prison etc all memories i have feel like when you’re very drunk and have no inhibitions. I was then in a brain rehab place for a few weeks then came home. Husband decided that was best time to say catch ya later and left! Anyway sorry I’ve garbled on and on and you genuinely didn’t ask for my life story!!!

Vettrianofan · 22/04/2025 20:08

Done loads of name changes but yes I have been on this site regularly since 2006/7.

Unescorted · 22/04/2025 20:09

I first joined when I was on sleepless nights for the first born as I realised I had left it a bit late to push her back. She graduated 2 years ago. It has been a while.

Advent0range · 22/04/2025 20:09

Hello D0g I remember you, I joined at a similar time (different user name).
So sorry to hear about your accident. Truly life-altering.

TwelveBlueSocks · 22/04/2025 20:10

I've been here since about 2012 but also zillions of name changes. It's the only way to not get savaged. Welcome back. I'm really sorry to hear about the accident, that sounds terribly difficult.

If it's any help my memory's rubbish now too, and I only have aging to blame.

Mysterian · 22/04/2025 20:11

I joined in 2007. I have seen many many things. Things younger posters could not possibly comprehend. Big things. Important things. Badly spelt things.

D0g · 22/04/2025 20:11

@Popquornbut have I spoken to you?

OP posts:
D0g · 22/04/2025 20:12

@Mysterian there is a lot I do remember, also emoji’s were not a thing then. Are they frowned upon I feel they probably are..

LindorDoubleChoc · 22/04/2025 20:12

Yes 😢. I remember you had your children quite young and lived rurally near the sea. It's weird how your memory lets you keep some things and not the others! I hope you and your DC are all doing well.

EverythingsComingUpRoses · 22/04/2025 20:12

I’ve been here since 2002 and had multiple names but I spent many late evenings having conversations with people you felt like you knew

threads move so fast now I’m more of a lurker

I am so sorry to read this! You were very lucky, it’s great to have you back on the boards 😊

MrsBungle · 22/04/2025 20:12

I joined in 2008. I feel like that’s about 5 years ago!

Popquorn · 22/04/2025 20:12

I remember Dog being a user name, but genuinely I can’t remember a) if that was you b) any conversations 😂

Certainly back in the day it was easier to see frequent names. The site is so big now
