I am back on Mumsnet potentially briefly I was on here a lot from around 2009 to maybe 2012 when my children were small and i was deep in sleepless nights etc etc all seems a distant memory now mine are teens. I’ve flitted in and out very briefly over the years. But really I remember when this was all fields 😂.

Are there any long term posters still going? I had an accident so my memory isn’t that great but so far on my brief travels I am yet to see any familiar names on any threads.

id update you all on my car crash life but I seriously doubt anyone remembers me its been that long

I have been here since the beginning of 2005. Many name changes and I don’t post very often.
I remember your name @D0g but not anything else.
I do sometimes wonder how Misdee and her husband are doing.

D0g · 22/04/2025 21:42

Sorry boredzelda It has ruined my evening to think i made you cringe, I’m not even sure I will
manage to sleep tonight knowing that.

Nor did I expect anyone to remember me I have yet to doff my cap at MN Royalty it was more a nostalgic post as it all seems very different now. As you were…

Fucking hell Woman! That’s a rough time! (I originally wrote rough ride but that sounded a lot meaner then I meant 😂)

We were around at the same time way back when (I was MilkNoSugar back then!)

MN is fucking chaos these days mate

CraftyGin · 22/04/2025 21:43

I've been here since 2000.

I was living in the USA at the time (1999 - 2003) and Mumsnet was such a lifesaver and an image of normal life.

TheCryingTheBitchAndTheFloordrobe · 22/04/2025 21:43

I’ve been here since 2008/9ish but have NC so often I can’t remember who I was back then! I remember you though, @D0g

RafaistheKingofClay · 22/04/2025 21:44

I’ve been here since 2012 possibly a bit before. Lurked for at least a year before I joined though. I do recognise your name.

Not sure if I was here for the fuck cancer snail but I definitely remember it being talked about.

You sound well shot of your ex.

D0g · 22/04/2025 21:46

@IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece nah rough ride is fine I am not at all sensitive about it 😂.

Chaos good or bad? Certainly seems less japes than before i think?

I have been here since 2008 under a few name changes.

I cried ugly tears when BoF died. I always used to love reading her posts and we shared a few DMs over the years.

I posted a lot on the MC and TTC boards in the beginning but under different names.

One particular poster and I gave eachother MN name 'nicknames' so if 'Mands" is on here I am 'Marff' and would love to know how you are getting on. We supported eachother on the MC boards in 2012 ish and I haven't forgotten you ❤️

spiderlight · 22/04/2025 21:47

I've been here with the same name since 2006/7. I remember you breaking an ankle(?) in a riding accident but I'm so sorry you've had so many other problems since 😢

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 22/04/2025 21:47

I remember when all the threads in talk were just in one list, no topics. 22 years!

D0g · 22/04/2025 21:48

@VivaDixiecan you please remind me about BoF name is familiar but I don’t think I remember any deaths apart from earthmum.

I always remember you @RustyBear because you had a picture of the original rusty bear on your profile - when people had profiles! Grin.

And also didn't your Dad live to be 100+ ?

Yes, my Dad was 102 (and 6 months) when he died.
And here’s the original Rusty Bear.

I remember you @D0g ! Been here since 2005. Definitely used to see the same posters all the time, sure most people have namechanged though I haven't.

BIWI · 22/04/2025 21:52

I remember you @D0g! My goodness, what a tough time you've had Sad

I’ve been here since 2006. Changed my name from BecauseImWorthIt to this one, some time ago. (Got sick and tired of having to type the whole thing out!)

D0g · 22/04/2025 21:53

@spiderlight yes that was my first accident, i then had the horse fall on me, then nothing mega apart from quite a few operations (hip and shoulder replacements then a cancer scare and hysterectomy) for a fair few years then i smashed my elbow badly enough to need surgery in 2022 and head bash in 2023 🙄. I really am done breaking myself now!

Hi @DOg I hope you remember her as she was a true diamond. She was very popular, her name was BitofFun. Just a lovely, funny lady with a heart of gold.

D0g · 22/04/2025 21:57

Yes I think I do remember her actually I didn't know she had died how sad

Bloody hell! You need to wrap yourself in cotton wool.

HandsFaceTeeth · 22/04/2025 22:01

I was in the doctor's surgery just after my first daughter was born and on the notice board there was a little card mentioning a new website called Mumsnet. I went home and looked it up on my (huge) computer. They were asking for product reviews and I sumbitted one about the Tripp Trapp chair I’d just bought. I was beyond delighted when it appeared on the website. This was 1999!

D0g · 22/04/2025 22:02

@RafaistheKingofClayI know right. Sadly I can no longer ride so hopefully less likely to do anything serious but equally courtesy of my brain injury my balance is so bad now I fall over daily usually at least once. My youngest jokes that I will probably die in a very mundane boring way I think however I go it’s likely to be due to my stupidity 😳🙄

D0g · 22/04/2025 22:04

@HandsFaceTeethgod Tripp Trapp’s that’s a blast from the past I had more of those than adult chairs at one stage 😂

I have been here since maybe 2010 .
Name changed after I had my head and hands to play with ( and a new one ripped) from an utter utter cow of a poster ( who was later banned but not because of what she said to me );

Not bitter . ( much) I name changed a while ago .
Some threads I'm on a lot , some I'll scroll through and some I have no interest in .
