I am back on Mumsnet potentially briefly I was on here a lot from around 2009 to maybe 2012 when my children were small and i was deep in sleepless nights etc etc all seems a distant memory now mine are teens. I’ve flitted in and out very briefly over the years. But really I remember when this was all fields 😂.

Are there any long term posters still going? I had an accident so my memory isn’t that great but so far on my brief travels I am yet to see any familiar names on any threads.

id update you all on my car crash life but I seriously doubt anyone remembers me its been that long

I joined in 2004 and I recognise your name.

Perkuppaige · 22/04/2025 20:13

Wow D0g - so sorry to hear what a traumatic and life changing time you’ve had, but you made it through and still here to tell the tale 😊

Wolfiefan · 22/04/2025 20:13

I remember you. Hope you’re doing better now.

@Advent0range hello, it has been life changing but weirdly a lot of it for the better. I was on self destruct mode at the time I am genuinely thankful it happened as weird as that sounds, my therapist said its a thing I cannot remember what he called it but like a kind of positive trauma

@mumofoneAlonebutokaybasically I have had a turbulent past with broken bones and accidents but in 2023 I managed to give myself a traumatic brain injury! I was fetching my horse in from the field rushing as late for farrier, I do not remember the accident but basically i made a very silly schoolboy error of popping on my horse to ride in as quicker with no hat on.

I was found struggling to breathe and unconscious I believe I was woken briefly by the air ambulance ( I don’t remember that at all) they I think either sedated me or put me into a medically induced coma. I think I was in a coma for a week then hospital left me unattended shortly after i was moved closer to home (I was like a child) I fell from the bed and acquired a third brain bleed on the other side of my brain, not ideal. I then had post traumatic amnesia for I think bang on 3 weeks i have slight memories of this time they feel like very drunk memories. I was completely gaga, thought I had had a baby, was at butlins, in prison etc all memories i have feel like when you’re very drunk and have no inhibitions. I was then in a brain rehab place for a few weeks then came home. Husband decided that was best time to say catch ya later and left! Anyway sorry I’ve garbled on and on and you genuinely didn’t ask for my life story!!!

What a sod your ex was!

Hope you are on the road to recovery now

JaneJeffer · 22/04/2025 20:17

Did you post about the accident before because it sounds familiar as does your name but anyway you probably won’t know me from Adam 😄

Perkuppaige · 22/04/2025 20:17

I remember Fabbychic? Solidgold and of course cod as being the Mumsnet regulars back then, loads more that I know I’ve forgotten!

evtheria · 22/04/2025 20:18

Started lurking around 2014 while doing 2AM-stressed-out-deep-dives on googling things like “why does my baby get distracted while breastfeeding” Wink Penis beaker was what made me stick around, I remember chortling myself to sleep that night (thank you to the op and all with their hilarious comments/reactions on that).

Nomorecoconutboosts · 22/04/2025 20:19

I joined in 2008 approx
I had lollipop in my name
i remember the spelling of your name but not much more.
This was slightly pre ‘moldies’ I think then it went a bit odd for a bit.
back then people would occasionally send each other stuff. I sent someone a bagpuss mug and someone kindly gave me one of those doidy cups. There was also a Christmas donate thread but I gather it had to be stopped as people misused it. There was no pm feature we had to pay £5 a year to CAT (contact another talker…)

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 22/04/2025 20:20

Oh wow @D0g

I mean, your husband going was the trash taking itself out! I've read that its very common for husbands to leave their wives when they fall ill.

That sounds very traumatic. How are you feeling now, despite the memory loss? Is your body healed? 🥺💕

Also, what happened to your horse?

Your life is so different to mine, i'm a londoner, rarely see horses but do love tjem, theyre so majestic

I love mumsnet tbh, it's got its rough sides but when I've needed advice, I've generally found it 🙌

Nomorecoconutboosts · 22/04/2025 20:21

@Perkuppaige- solidgoldbrass formerly Madamez
i remember
morningpaper did a weekly roundup
Xenia was here a lot, people kept ‘outing’ her.
there was a woman who was going to leave her newborn child in NICU and go water skiing?!

D0g · 22/04/2025 20:22

@Popquorn he certainly didn’t make recovery easy and despite me really not being with it I remember him being quite horrid to me in hospital. Coming home was hard as he was so up in the air about whether he was or wasn't staying and I felt like I would be alone forever. He stayed from sept to February but we weren't together ad such. My brain injury was frontal lobe and my temper was quite wicked then. I certainly made life tricky. However now it’s genuinely the best thing that could have happened he is a horrible aggressively average little rucksack of a man, I think we were housemates even before we split. So I do get it. But yes his timing was horrendous. But I have genuinely turned things around since he left so all good

Wow @D0gthat sounds truly awful, I’m so sorry! And exH - what a terrible man!

I’m glad you’re on the mend and piecing your life back together. I wish you the very best!

I joined in about 2019 for some pregnancy advice and lurked around on and off until about a year ago when I really got in to the actual threads! Also a fair few name changes!

D0g · 22/04/2025 20:26

D0g · 22/04/2025 20:30

@Nomorecoconutboosts yes I forgot about the roundup also there was someone on here who has stairs in her kitchen, it was a big thing. I cannot for life of me remember her name but I’m also fairly certain she had quite a posh car claimed as abandoned by someone and was fuming.

I first joined in 2003 when I was pregnant for the first time. It was so funny back then but very unkind too. I name changed a few times and had a few breaks after being savaged for what I thought were reasonable opinions. So I don't feel too nostalgic for the "old days". Sadly I spend much of my time lurking in Elderly Parents these days.

KezzaMucklowe · 22/04/2025 20:32

Hey, I remember your name. I've been here since 2010.
I didn't post much when I remember seeing you about. I lurked though.
Sorry to hear about your accident and your arsehole ex.
