I saw the Tory mp speech around the grooming gangs to Jess Phillips I can’t remember her name it was pretty powerful. How the hell are they going to not going to do an investigation?
A million years ago well 20 I was fostering and was offered a girl from Rotherham who was a sex worker 13. Obviously now was trafficked SS wanted to get her and two others out of the area.
I agreed to take her if she was in education the social worker was wet and ineffective wouldn’t agree to my offer a couple of years passed I asked my SW how the three girls were doing at 15 years and 2 months they were returned to Rotherham with keys to their own flat if they weren’t in education they went to adult services.
I had another girl who sex trafficked she had been held for two days gang raped drugged she thought she was going to die when she went to her SW they told her to not go to the police to go to the STI clinic. her SW was Sikh as was the girl who felt there was alot of shame from the SW due to same religion.

@Parsley1234
Thank you for sharing. A girl in my class at school was a victim so I have a bee in my bonnet with this. Everybody knew, nobody did anything. A teacher would keep all the girls in class if the men were waiting outside school. There has been one thread on MN since JP pulled her stunt just before parliament rose.

Katie Lam was really impressive in the HoC. Thankfully she is getting the recognition she deserves on other SM forums.

I hope you've been enjoying the weather, it's been gorgeous here so we've been away for a few days enjoying a much needed mini holiday.

Bangladesh's anti corruption authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Tulip Siddiq.

@TheNuthatch yes I just saw that re TS all so bloody shady
weather here has broken it’s been cloudy avd rainy 😢😢😢

EasternStandard · 14/04/2025 12:55

@TheNuthatchglad you had a nice break.

I can bear Labour spin on pretty much everything rn so avoiding the news a bit. All the it’s someone else to blame is too much.

Parsley1234 · 14/04/2025 14:48

I cannot believe that Lindsay Hoyle has said regarding the Vat argument that SEN provision is broken in State schools cannot be used in the court case even though Phillipson had said it herself 🤦‍♀️

EasternStandard · 14/04/2025 15:06

Why is Hoyle wading in on a court case? What’s wrong with these people

Parsley1234 · 14/04/2025 17:00

@EasternStandard I have no idea and he probably doesn’t either except he’s a labour fan girl twat

And what would the previous Govt of 14 years be doing that would be so much better? Would the potholes be fixed, the rivers cleaner? Heathrow electrics the envy of the world? World circumstances change and the Govt of the day has to adapt. The Tories get to sit on the sidelines ATM but they would still be facing the same issues.

Completely, and they caused this shit in the first place! It's going to take a hell of a long time to sort out a country the Tories plunged into the ground. Come back in 14 years op, and we'll compare!

SpringerSprockerCocker · 14/04/2025 17:58

Any views on here about ex Tory MP Craig Williams being one of fifteen charged for GE betting offences? Awful behaviour, no?

My view is that he's a fecking idiot who deserves everything he gets for being so stupid. I also think people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Any views on Tulip Siddiq? Jas Athwal? Mike Amesbury? Andrew Gwynne? Oh I nearly forgot, Dan Norris who was recently arrested for CSA.

It's a date, although I doubt this Labour government will be in power that long.

Let the people decide, it'll definately be helpful if the prime minister doesn't change like the weather though won't it? 😂

Judging by recent polls, I suspect many people have already decided.

Labour and liberal ‘elites’ continuing to sacrifice the working (class) people they tell us they’ll protect. Despicable hypocrites. I’ll never vote for them again

I’m not surprised. They have been briefing against nearly everyone. From pensioners to businesses, now onto Unite and bin collection and SEN dc.

Those last two really take the biscuit. And if they do move onto NEU and teaching unions that’ll be interesting. Usually strong support on here for Labour in that area.

That would be an interesting battle on MN.

It really is beyond belief. It makes me sick to read how low they will go.

Absolutely typical of these people.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14603261/amp/sir-lindsay-hoyle-outrageous-legal-school-report-VAT.html

‘Monday's hearing is set to cost the taxpayer tens of thousands of pounds in addition to the vast costs of the original hearing as all of the original parties – including the Government's team of four crack KCs – have been summoned back to the court.

The Speaker will also have his own leading barrister in court, David Manknell KC.’

The KC’s will be laughing whilst looking up the new holiday homes they’ll be able to buy with the cash Labour are giving them from the tax payers.

For what? To try and win a case that means more tax payers money will be spent on education, reduced mobility for some and removal of an adequate education for many. Beyond belief.

Speaker accused of 'acting outrageously' over private school VAT hike

The Government launched an 'opportunistic' 11th hour bid to rule out key evidence at the end of the recent landmark judicial review into the controversial tax.

Perhaps the pensioners redirected WFA cash will be spent on these Kings Counsels working for Labour, on this utterly ridiculous and needless ideologically unsound case.

@Felinnefine Thanks for the link. Love the comments on that article.Outrageous is the right word. I'm surprised Hoyle isn't away enjoying another taxpayer funded holiday. This has got to be one of the worst policies ever envisaged, yet they spend millions of taxpayer £ on KCs defending it.
