I try to work as little as possible 😁

Can’t blame you, tbh. 🙂

Upstartled · 06/05/2025 20:13

Six punches Amesbury, thinks Labour is making some big mistakes and wants to tell them what they are publicly apparently. I know I shouldn't laugh but you'd think he'd fall on his sword for at least a week and be quiet after delivering a seat to reform personally. Shameless.

TheNuthatch · 06/05/2025 20:14

If Starmer wants to commit electoral suicide, that's fine by me. It about damage limitation now. I don't fancy Farage as PM, but it looks more likely with each decision Labour take.

Haha I thought the same!

Six punches? One for each vote that took the seat.

Coincidink

Upstartled · 06/05/2025 20:18

Urgh, I am still hanging on for Labour's old guard to untether themselves from whichever nursing home they have been shacked to and take us back to the 90s. I'd even take Brown over this lot.

EasternStandard · 06/05/2025 20:21

They must be itching. Every so often Blair blurts something then gets back in his (admittedly wealthy) box.

Man, just six votes. It's nuts. I wonder if the turnout will be higher there in the next election? Everyone will think that their vote will be the tipping point.

Blunt did a few rounds of the media circuit last year, didn't he? Where's Jack Straw and Robin Cook - who always reminded me of that chef who got caught nicking cheese at the self checkout - maybe he'll do in a pinch?

Robin cook died I'm afraid. Spectacular forehead!

Oh, no - just looked and it was decades ago - not sure how I missed or forgot that. Well, on reflection, I don't think Anthony Worrell Thompson will do - although now I'll have to check he isn't dead too.😬

TheNuthatch · 06/05/2025 20:40

I think your chef is still going strong 😂

At this juncture, I'd take a group of A Level economics students over our current government.

OP posts:
Upstartled · 06/05/2025 20:42

Would they be real A-Level economic students, or just one who hung out with them and bought everyone handbags?

As opposed to Truss and her Tufton St pork markets and a minister who forgot to pay millions in tax and claimed allowance to heat the stables

I don’t think Labour can work the old lines anymore for the polls. They might try but fail.

twistyizzy · 06/05/2025 20:52

I lost this thread, so pleased I've found it again. Starmer just handed Reform 2 nuggets today: Lucy Powell + India.
Is he actively trying to lose the election already?

At this point I don't think they can work a light switch!

I noticed No10 wouldn't back Phillipson though! Looks like she's a gonner. Peter Kyle tipped to replace her.

Unfortunately yes but will be glad to see the back of her. It was telling that she was wheeled out last Friday while the others hid to save themselves.
I think the court case will either be her saving grace/nail in coffin. Let's hope the latter!

Yeh he came out to support Powell but not BP 🤣

Upstartled · 06/05/2025 21:00

Nandy on the chopping block too.
