They need to start listening to the electorate.

Ah, yes. But no. No they don’t do that. TB told them all, years ago. And still, they don’t listen.

I think Labour won by a large margin at GE and the area has been dominated by Labour for 40 years. It’ll be interesting to see the swing.

So soon in their term too.

Yes Mike Amesbury won with a majority of 14K votes, before beating up one of his constituents. Reform came second. This is Labour's 16th safest seat. Reform came second in around 100 labour won seats.
The red wall is ripe, and Farage knows it.

Same in my constituency. The only way to unseat Labour will be to vote Reform. If things continue as they are, many will hold their noses and do just that at the next GE.

Labour are finished now imo, they have sealed their own fate. The tories need to get their house in order, sharpish.

Mike amesbury that brilliant chap 🤣🤦‍♀️

We all know how Labour represent sheer hypocrisy. We have examples, over the last few months particularly.

However this latest glaring example surprised me. Starmer et al back pedalling (or ‘reverse ferreting’ I believe is the MN favoured term), in their ‘some women have a penis’ views.

But no. No Starmer we will not forget. You are embarrassing yourselves, again.

@Felinnefine love that, thank you.

'we have the receipts'.
Yes we do!

Special mention to the famous 'Jane' from MN who, during the election campaign, managed to get through to Starmer live on the radio and accused him of talking twaddle 😂. She's my hero! That was the best thread ever.

What would be your idea of a better economic model?
I'm not sure who you are referencing re slave labour wages. The Guardian article I linked this morning shows that wages are rising, along with details of a huge rise in job losses in March.

wages may rise but what should be proper wages for the value of the job etc are not being paid and instead its more around national min paid instead

Ah yes loved Jane. She was right. So many brilliant women leading up to the Supreme Court ruling.

The front pages today have been glorious. Most of them anyway.

Hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend 🐥 🌷

I don't like chocolate, but I bloomin love simnel cake and hot x buns. Both in the freezer so I can't eat them until Sunday :-) Fingers crossed for good weather xx

Sorry, I missed this earlier.

You've quoted me twice now, and with respect, I don't understand what you're asking me.

If wages rise, prices rise, but I'm sure you already understand that. Have a lovely weekend.

Ahh the Sound of Silence.. Keir Starmer remains mute regarding the momentous court ruling this week.

In a way I respect him more for not trying to reverse ferret his previous statement. Marginally more.

SomethingSScintillating · 19/04/2025 11:13

Absolutely special mention to Jane.

Where is starmer? I almost don't want him to speak because I fear he will muddy the waters and set us back.

The law has always protected women's rights but he chose to view it that it didn't.

Not saying Anything though? That’s as shocking as Corbyn not saying anything during Brexit negotiations (he was as we all know, a Lexiteer). Common theme with Labour, hypocrisy and or silence.

I would respect him more if he justified his previous position. Oh but he legally couldn’t could he. Hmm. A quandary for a PM ex barrister. Silence speaks volumes.

Anyone would think it’s a mess of his own making.

SomethingSScintillating · 19/04/2025 11:21

@Felinnefine omission is the greatest lie

Yep I agree with you on those options. Hypocrisy, silence although I’d add lies.

Spot on.
Starmer is on holiday somewhere in Europe at the moment. Slimey toad.
He will need to upload his latest principles again before he faces the media.
Upcoming, lies, gaslighting, and ooh look a squirrel. It's already started.

SomethingSScintillating · 19/04/2025 14:47

Maybe starmer is being rebooted.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 20/04/2025 08:11

he will now have to respond, after today's leaks in the Mail on Sunday.

I suppose that was the point of the leak.

Poor Keir. This will be a fence he will no longer be able to sit on.

SomethingSScintillating · 20/04/2025 08:21

You say poor Kier but the leaks shown today on the what's app group mean he could undermine the ruling and whatever he says it won't shore up women's rights.

I'm beyond disgusted. What is wrong with these people!!

EasternStandard · 20/04/2025 08:25

No sympathy for Starmer. He’s always been bad on women’s rights.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 20/04/2025 08:31

I have no sympathy for him.

He cannot run a country while picking splinters from his arse from whatever fence he's been sitting on.
