Good morning ☀️
I'm actively avoiding various tasks, ie actual mail to be opened and sorted, finding laptop, finishing painting.
I took dc to the Banksy exhibit yesterday, though, after taking Havoc to school. It was definitely easier to manage just one dc in the class. 😅 Havoc has an activity later, so will get both dc out together in the afternoon. I also need to do two tasks for my mum this week. I'll have to get some laundry done (today?) and clean the bathroom, too.

Good morning, everyone. ☀️
I was out late yesterday afternoon with dc, so it was a rush once home: baths, pj's, vacuum, wash floors, large load laundry washed and hung up. Squeezed in making dinner which was easy, actually. 😅
Weather was quite nice and we were at the Maritime museum then Kits beach. It was a perfect Sunday. Now just up with baby and will make breakfaat (coffee!!!) and take Havoc to school this morning. I'm going to try taking dc separately this week as it is very stressful handling both at the same time in the class and I really didn't enjoy it last week. (It's parent participation)

lol I read that as 'martini museum' 😁

Aria999 · 06/05/2025 19:55

Meant to have a productive day today and ended up having a FaceTime catchup with an old friend then spending ages figuring out some parent organization treasurer stuff. Now contemplating the need to fix lunch (at 3pm) and then maybe finish the laundry folding!

petalpower · 06/05/2025 21:37

Busy day today:

  • been to fitness class ✔️
  • renewed yearly membership for local music festival ✔️
  • two loads of washing done and almost line dried but it was so cold they’re finishing off on the heated airer ✔️
  • posted back pair of trousers that didn’t suit me✔️
  • took car back to the garage for test drive to try to diagnose intermittent fault, now booked in for Thursday to fit a shock absorber ✔️
  • swapped summer and winter clothes although it’s very cold but is due to warm up by the weekend ✔️

Wishful thinking? 😊
Oh, I remember the martini days... (sort of...). 😂

SpringingIntoSummerLobelia · 07/05/2025 06:45

Happy Wednesday everyone.

My main focus today is to try and maintain energy for the pre-cleaner clean!

Have good days.

WinterFrogs · 07/05/2025 07:06

Morning! A bit chaotic once again round these parts. An unexpected A&E trip with a family member yesterday (all is ok, but were told we needed to go) I thank my past self for some previous batch cooking which mean I still got dinner on the table at a reasonable hour.
Also that these days, I always fill car with fuel when it reaches halfway, so none of the panicking that would happen in the 'other' days. I used to be so chaotic, but I'm finally getting the hang of things. Better late than never. So what looks like chaos this morning is a shadow of former times.
Today is a set fair, I think. Just dealing with general disarray.

Mother admin too. And cat admin. He needs his meds.
But nothing too arduous today.
( Just hit the horror in The Inheritors @Aria999. I see what you mean 😔)

Gotta go. Have a great day all!

petalpower · 07/05/2025 17:30

Oh no @WinterFrogs - hope everything is ok with your family member. Well done you for being so prepared with the car full of fuel and a meal prepped too!
This morning I went a local small town to do a few jobs (travel admin at the funeral directors for auntie’s ashes, charity shop drop off, pet shop visit for Petaldog’s birthday present!) and this afternoon was house type stuff at home (bed changing, bathroom cleaning etc). My extra jobs were descaling the kettle and wiping out the baking tin drawer which has needed attention for a while. Tonight I’m meeting a friend for an early dinner and picking up DS from the station.
Hope everyone’s had a good day!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/05/2025 18:47

Winter, glad everything turned out ok. I like your organization about topping the gas up regularly. My mum used to do that. I live on the edge with that one. 🫣
Petal, good extras. Things like that really make a difference!

I just took a tray of croissants out of the oven. Kettle just boiled. Going to go to Costco after I indulge. Free day today as no set activities for dc. Could've gone to school, but slept in a bit too much, so will save that for Friday.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 08/05/2025 20:02

I've been quite low the past few days - just stuck in the past - finally feeling more balanced today

Managed to do two loads of laundry, and take 6 bags of recycling to the dump

That's the last trip to the dump for me now, finally, they must think I'm a psycho with a rubbish fetish

Cleaned half of the living room, made shakshuka for dd which she devoured, she loves eggs right now

@WinterFrogs sorry you had to go to a&e 🥺 but glad it turned out okay. It's stressful nonetheless x

I like the idea of having things like petrol topped up - I'm the same with the food cupboard, I like it to be full, in case of emergency

@Peridot1 i haven't done any reading 🤦‍♀️ - this weekend I will get a quarter of harry potter 5 read, in my nook - definitely do it, in the winter it'll be cosy

@SpringingIntoSummerLobelia thank you, although she's a calico - I think she's a bit of a fighter, in our old place she would hang with two male cats about 10 years older. She was always chasing them away from our back door, and slapping them 🤭

I get what you mean, dcat and dd playing together in the mornings is the cutest thing

Hope you're well everyone xx

Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/05/2025 21:02

@mumofoneAlonebutokay I'm the same with my fridge. I get a bit anxious when it's too low.
I'm glad you're feeling better. It's great when dc are eating a good meal, isn't it? I've been rejoicing that Havoc has been eating my pesto/crab/rocket pizza and pasta with feta/rocket/tomatoes and sometimes prawns.
🤗🥳 (baby, too!!!)

Hopefully will get dc out in a bit. Just having a latte and going to watch a bit of tv that I pvr'd.

My to-do is: laundry, fold/put away dry clothes, vacuum/wash floors and clean bathroom.
Extra: file paper mail 🙄

That's amazing eating from them though! How old are Havoc and baby (as long as youre confortable sharing) x

It does feel good when they want to eat actually, although still can't get dd to eat any visible veg - i blend it up and stick it into curries now

Thank you, cleaning and clearing out the shocking amount of cardboard from the move really helped in fact, I think the clutter was weighing on me x

3 & 1, roughly.
Havoc went through a very bad year and a half when we had a bad strain of covid when I was pregnant and all the good eating disappeared. It is finally coming back. I think sense of taste was lost, mine was, and that skewed perception even after recovery (I had covid 22/38 weeks pregnant).

Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/05/2025 22:08

@mumofoneAlonebutokay clutter paralyzes me. It really does and then everything snowballs.

WinterFrogs · 09/05/2025 06:31

Morning! Very pleased to hear you're on the up @mumofoneAlonebutokay Good times ahead 💕 Happy Birthday to Petaldog @petalpower 🎂
Hope you had a fun day out with the children @Mumtobabyhavoc I did enjoy @SpringingIntoSummerLobelia referring to them as the havocs!

I am struggling with the sadness of The Inheritors. I think it really passed me by when I was a teenager. I've stopped trying to make complete sense of it and I'm just letting it flow. My sleep audio book is Rebecca. It's excellent for purpose - out for the count in ten minutes flat. Something to do with the narrator's voice, possibly. I think it would be rude to say I think such a loved classic is deadly dull. Harry Potter is way more gripping!

Washing on line already ✔️
Some clothes folded and put away ✔️
Wordle ✔️ (2!)
Cat brush & meds ✔️
Bird bath filled ✔️

Yesterday I cleaned kitchen and bathroom window sills ✔️

I've been putting off booking a couple of appointments so I intend to get back here later to say I've done them....

Have a great day all 💐

Wordle in 2?! That's fantastic.

Hugs to you @mumofoneAlonebutokay glad you are feeling a bit better.

a quick wave and post-and-run as we are late for school. ❤to everyone.

petalpower · 09/05/2025 09:41

Gosh you’re up and at it early @WinterFrogs ! Beautiful day here, finally seems to be warming up again. Off to an auction house this morning to drop off an item from dad’s house and hopefully get my mum’s jewellery valued.
Have a good day everyone!

SpiritOfEdna · 09/05/2025 10:55

Morning - am listening to the glorious sounds of a boiler being serviced 😂 Only 3 days late. Half day at work today as I have lots to catch up on and the sun is out and I can’t be bothered to sit at my desk today so half day annual leave it is.
Today

  • chase my sodding picture frames 😂 3 were done and 1 left to do
  • load of washing to do
  • Sand & messy desk seem to be an interminable 9th circle of hell
  • the sun is showing up all the dirt - just seen some filthy skirting boards so will clean them later (v glamorous) and the stair case paint is looking decidedly dingy
That’s all for today, have a good one, SoE

ps only ever got a Wordle in 2 once - very envious - it’s the dream 😱

Mumtobabyhavoc · 09/05/2025 13:37

Happy birthday, Petaldog! 🐶

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 09/05/2025 18:34

Happy Friday all 🙂

Feeling loads better today and have cleaned the whole flat.

Dd's bedroom finally resembles a bedroom rather than a dumping ground! Shes having the time of her life jumping on her bed 😅

I've made shakshuka again for her, since she loves it so much, and got a bargain on pork shoulder chops at Lidl, so diced and chucked some of them in

@SpiritOfEdna hope you've had a lovely half day!

Happy birthday to Petaldog 🥰

Thank you @SpringingIntoSummerLobelia x

@WinterFrogs you productive queen! - sorry to hear that The Inheritors is making you sad - good books do really stay with you when you stop reading

@Mumtobabyhavoc 3 and 1 are lovely ages, and a nice gap between them! Your days must be so enjoyable with the two of them (although stressful at times too)

Dd is 6 now, and as much as I'm glad she's at school, i do miss the toddler years sometimes - it's going so fast

Sorry to hear you caught covid twice during your pregnany, and Havoc too 🥺 - How scary as well as hard to go through! - glad to hear you're able to enjoy food again, i can imagine it wouldve had a long lasting impact x

Gonna crack open a bottle of sauvignon blanc tonight and catch up on eastenders (as boring as it is right now) 🙌💕

petalpower · 09/05/2025 19:57

Thank you for the birthday wishes for Petaldog (Junior) - he will be five next week! Senior dog has just turned ten (we inherited her from my dad when he had to go into the nursing home because of his dementia). Busy house!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/05/2025 05:12

Mumofone, I hope you had a much deserved relaxing evening. 😊

I managed to get the bathroom cleaned, mirror and floor included, today. That's all. 🤷‍♀️

SpringingIntoSummerLobelia · 10/05/2025 10:52

Morning all.

A classic Daily Project morning for me. I planted some bedding plants and e-mailed the gardener to ask if they could weed and tidy a yucky corner of the garden when they come next. My back is not up to wedding and ti really needs a strimmer going over it as well. Then I plan to fill it with pots (i have loads of unused ones) and mini rhodedendrons and lavender to try and make it slightly nicer. It really needs re-paving but that's beyond my budget at present.

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Peridot1 · 10/05/2025 11:51

Hello all.

Quick nip in to say hi. I’m still in Ireland. Sis and BIL should be home tomorrow. Yay! It’s been a nice week looking after the DCs though. Not many jobs done though! Just the basics. Lots of vacuuming and floor washing because of the dogs. And I’ve been keeping on top of the washing. School uniforms to get done today when niece comes back from the sleep over she is on. Hoping to go our for a walk soon and possibly lunch out.

Moving to another sister on Monday for two nights and then home on Wednesday.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/05/2025 16:16

Sounds like a very nice visit Peridot. 😊
The garden plan sounds lovely Lobelia. 🌸

I'm up with the dc, Havoc is watching Sesame Street and having breakfast while I tend to baby. Havoc has an activity this morning and we'll need to leave soon.
There's a mountain of laundry to do along with tasks I've been ignoring.
