Which makes Mandelson's role greasing the wheels all the more important and which was why he was stressing his non wokey cokey pro business pragmatic credentials.

bombastix · 07/02/2025 11:15

It's why Mandelson is a great choice. He is uniquely placed to do it. I thought all the bilge in the press about him was bollocks. He is highly effective and will do a good job.

The UK has post Brexit elected and advanced people who are not capable. Johnson, Truss, Badenoch. These are people you would not trust to feed your cat on a long weekend. It is time that we got back to presenting to the world what is still there, a competent and thoughtful UK.

Elodie09 · 07/02/2025 11:40

I am such a Starmer fan.
I think he is an extraordinary man and he can become an extraordinary politician.
His leadership is what convinced me to vote Labour for the first time in a General election.
There are so many capable politicians in the Labour party too.

I was expecting an upsurge of those yesterday after the interest rate reduction but nada.

Site is closed to new registrations atm following the issue with CSA images - is that a co-incidence?

BIWI · 07/02/2025 13:08

I'm not sure it is - I've been reporting a lot of spam today and yesterday. (Although I suppose those spammers could have registered several accounts in the past)

@BIossomtoesGood point.

I seem to have tagged Blossom inadvertently and am unable to untag.

I have wondered myself but for different reasons - have seen 2 threads yesterday/today starting 'i'm a newbie - be nice to me'

Maybe re-opened registrations? MNHQ seem to have stopped communicating about the CSA images

I mentioned a while back that with the upcoming Online Safety Bill, old accounts could become valuable. Especially as one of the ways Ofcom suggested verifying users age was an "established email account" (I have one that is 31 years old).

Habitual name changers is my guess
