Which celebs have you met in daily life?

I just met actor Irene Marot, who played Ron Dixon’s wife DD in Brookside, when she asked me for directions on a London street corner. Happy to report that she is absolutely delightful IRL. (I told her she looked familiar and she seemed surprised and chuffed that I had recognised her.)

So, which “celebrities” (A-list or otherwise) have you met by chance in a “civilian” or daily life context. And what were they like?

Jimmy Carr sitting having dinner alone beside us in a restaurant. Incredibly unpleasant + hostile man - very rude towards staff. Despite it being quite a fancy restaurant he had a takeaway Starbucks coffee with him and sipped on it throughout his meal. Money can’t buy class!

Bill Nighy and Ralph Fiennes.

I once spoke to Debbie McGee on the phone, does that count?

She was very pleasant.

Peter Davison (when he was the Doctor). Lovely, lovely man.

34 years ago Debbie McGee was lovely to my 6 year old ds after a Paul Daniel’s show, as was he.
I never appreciated his skill until I saw him live on stage.

Dd had to work with Brian Cox ( the physicist) and he asked her for a selfie.
Apparently v. nice man.

There's a few premiership footballer wags in my town, so I see them about regularly - does that count?

Freddie Starr once gave me a lift home one evening. Bit up himself

Have spoken to Mick Jagger, rod Stewart and Rowan Atkinson on the phone, as part of my work

Had dinner with Tom Baker when he was Dr Who, my neighbour knew him. Judy Dench when shopping. My dgks other grandparents are friends with a couple of well known actors, still waiting for an introduction!

Billy from Eastenders at a Health Farm. Didn’t speak to him as didn’t want to disturb his peace and quiet.

Many, many footballers majority of whom were lovely

one wife though in particular was very not so nice

Janes McAvoy - quiet and polite. Seemed shy
Emma Willis - didn’t speak to her but saw in a shop, beautiful IRL
The guy who used to be on Holby years ago, Jeremy someone - awful and arrogant

Joanna Lumley - she was lovely.

Hank Azaria - Phoebe’s David the science guy from friends and the Simpson voices, the nicest guy I’ve ever met!
Steve Redgrave- rower, grumpy and no sense of humour

Had dinner with Boy George at his house. He was lovely and a great host abd story teller.

Met Dan Aykroid when he was filming a film here back in the 90s he gave me into trouble for being cheeky to my mum in a shop!

Jeremy someone - awful and arrogant

I bumped into the top gear one and the other two once and they were incredibly arrogant.

Perry Fenwick (Eastenders Billy) used to drink in a pub near my office in SE London back in the 90s. He was very normal and no one bothered him. Just sat with his mates enjoying his beer!
Amelia Bullmore stopped my husband in his car to tell him he had water coming out his exhaust. It was just the aircon! Very sweet of her to say though!

I once spoke to Camilla (when she was Mrs Parker Bowles) on the phone- she wanted to order a cheque book and was very chatty & pleasant!

Circa the 90's I drank with most of the then Emmerdale cast. It was filmed opposite our local. They were all lovely.
