Which celebs have you met in daily life?

I just met actor Irene Marot, who played Ron Dixon’s wife DD in Brookside, when she asked me for directions on a London street corner. Happy to report that she is absolutely delightful IRL. (I told her she looked familiar and she seemed surprised and chuffed that I had recognised her.)

So, which “celebrities” (A-list or otherwise) have you met by chance in a “civilian” or daily life context. And what were they like?

Also bumped into fergal Sharkey at Glastonbury festival. & a few B listers also

J K Rowling at a work thing. Absolutely lovely & stunning.

I've met a couple people through work. The best one was Anthony Joshua holy shit he was so hot. He was also very nice proper lovely I got some very nice photos with him and love to pretend he's my boyfriend to my daughter lol xxx

David Hayes we met Ayia Napa and had drinks with him! His manager made us delete any photos we took though, I think he was supposed to be there training not partying.

Tim Peake. I know they say you shouldn't meet your heroes but it was one of the best days of my life! He's such a gentleman!

Followed Professor Robert Winston out of a car park and he held a door open for me. I said thanks and he told me I was very welcome
Oh, and Ricky Tomlinson after he did a show at Cheltenham Town Hall. He was in TGI Fridays after at the table next to us. He was very grumpy!!

The lovely Joanna Lumley. She tapped me on the shoulder in a hotel loo and said "you've got a bit of loo roll stuck to your heel sweetie". Divine woman.

Last time I went to Manchester on the train, was sat next to Maureen Lipman, quiet, polite. Saw her reading a script, said Rovers Return, first I knew she was in Coronation Street.

My friend met him too and said the same 😍

Rolf Harris when I was about 6. He was stood outside Woolworths in Maidenhead in the early 80s. He was wearing a poncho I remember. My parents regularly saw him out and about. My dad stopped to let him cross the road once. No acknowledgement of thanks so my dad stuck his fingers up at him apparently 😆

Lewis Hamilton. Absolute wanker and his siblings. Beat up my DS and broke his nose in the toilets at school.

Peter Andre and his wife Emily - both v kind and polite.

Kate Garraway - bitchy towards me.

Ken Livingstone - very rude ! Nearly knocked me over on the street as he was walking quickly in the opposite direction. He had on this massive trench coat on which was flying behind him and it hit me.

Lots of others, some I do not like.

-Walked around a corner, bumped into Brian May and dropped my shopping. I looked up at him and muttered, "sorry Brian", picked up shopping (he helped) and then I carried on bloody walking. It was a couple of minutes later that the damned penny dropped. I'm so annoyed at myself as I LOVE Queen.

-Was in an elevator with my aunt (I was about 7) - in Sears Tower. An English guy is the elevator with us. We were making small talk with him, and then my aunt says, "I'm so sorry but do I know you from somewhere?". We realised afterwards that it was Phil Collins (I had the Invisible Touch and No Jacket Required albums playing almost constantly in my Walkman!!).

They were both lovely...thank goodness, as I love their music. I'm sure I've seen others in daily life but can't remember who.

My sister got chatted up by The Edge (U2) back in the late 80's/early 90's! Shane MacGowan and Dan Stevens went to the same school as me (Shane MacGowan was there way before me though!). Dan was a year or two below me but I remember him well (obvs this was before he became an actor!).

In my job, I've looked after some celebrities over the years (I remember their names but can't/won't say who). They've all been lovely....but then I've been their nurse!

I've been friends with Boy George for over 30 years so obv met rest of culture club. . I'm 54.

Used to go clubbing a lot in the late 80s and 90s - here in London and Ibiza and met many previous soap/drama actors, many times, including the actors who played
Zammo and Jackie from Grange Hill, the guy who played Charlie in Shinebon Harvey Moon, Tristan in George and Mildred,
Daniella Westbrook.
Neil Morrisey.
Also, through friends:
Mike Jones - Clash/Big Audio Dynamite (friend was their official photographer)
Ant and Dec on my Hen weekend in 2002 whilst they were filming Pop Idol in Manchester (staying in same hotel).
Also met Amy Winehouse many times in Camden RIP, Kate Moss, Peal Lowe, Sadie Frost, Jude Law (exH went to school with him).
Met Paula Yates a few times as best friend worked on Big Breakfast early 90s.
Met Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McClaren as good friend is friends with their son (Agent Provocateur) again early 90s.

Those were the days......

Oh also met the Green Cross Code Man , also Darth Vader at primary school and Brian Cant on sponsored walk!

I work in a tv studios so have met a fair few but my favourite is Roy Keane because I was talking to him for ages about the weather and had no idea who he was until someone told me so we had a selfie cause he found it funny as well.

I met Brian May in a Woolworths in Camberley many years ago. Was star struck so walked up to him and said….’buying some Tip-Ex then?’ Total fail! He was then lovely about my embarrassment 😂

met Bruce Dickinson when he fenced my then boyfriend at a competition somewhere. So nice, so hot! Beat my boyfriend handily who was absolutely delighted about it

Jarvis Cocker - weird but friendly, The Quireboys who were delightful and The Little Angels who were also lovely - all at gigs where I managed to get backstage. Oh and randomly played some VR game thing with Carter USM in the pit at Leicester Uni before the Uni ball and they were so normal it was a bit odd!

Claire Balding, she was polite, seemed keen to keep a low profile so I didn't let on I recognised her.

Lucy Worsley - lovely and smiley, just as you'd expect.

The guy who cheated on who wants to be a millionaire, loud, irritating and self important but friendly and chatty.

Zara Tindall is much smaller than you expect. Both shorter and thinner, but down to earth and very happy to say hello to people.

I think there must be a pattern forming here. Meet Brian May, get star struck (or the penny doesn't drop in my case!!).
