Which celebs have you met in daily life?

I just met actor Irene Marot, who played Ron Dixon’s wife DD in Brookside, when she asked me for directions on a London street corner. Happy to report that she is absolutely delightful IRL. (I told her she looked familiar and she seemed surprised and chuffed that I had recognised her.)

So, which “celebrities” (A-list or otherwise) have you met by chance in a “civilian” or daily life context. And what were they like?

I met Rolf Harris once 🤮

I bumped into Olivia Newton John in a London department store toilets back in the early 70s. She was absolutely lovely, very friendly and chatty.

I've met Banksy

Chris Moyles, completely lovely bloke.

Absolutely lovely. Cillian more aloof but pleasant.
Charlotte Riley is absolutely beautiful, just stunning and so sweet, she helped me take a selfie because I was flustered 🤣
Ditto Tom, he was really nice, pulled me in for a hug/photo. Really chatty.
Didn't get a photo with Cillian because he looked like he wanted to leave but really nice.

Had to do a thing for work with Omid Djalili the comedian... so spent a day or two with him filming some promo. Very much 'my way or the highway' kind of guy, very critical of how we edited the promo video. Bit of a diva.

Also bumped (literally) into Hugh Jackman. Super awkward moment!

Michael Gove was on my flight to Germany. In economy. At the back. When we landed he tried to push his way to the front to get off quicker.
Everybody (lots of people didn't recognise him) was annoyed with him and his bad manners.

Josie Gibson in a spa. She was very chatty & friendly and completely down to earth

I served on a jury with Weird Al yankovic. He is a very polite gentleman and quieter than his stage persona

I stood next to Ryland in Tesco. Very tall, very polite to the cashier and smelt divine .

When I worked for a local council I spoke to John Craven on the phone several times. He seemed absolutely lovely, polite and chatty.

Many many years ago I went with my cousin and another adult to collect Christopher Biggins from a small event he was at (my aunty was friends with his mum) This was about 40 years ago now so he wasn't very famous (if at all). He didn't even acknowledge us kids in the back of the car and was really grumpy all the way home 😂 I'm sure he's a delight now though x

My others are Sheena Easton in the airport toilets early hours one morning when she was travelling with Prince. Again this was about 35 years ago. Met the Queen Mother when she was dishing out awards in the 80s which I came first in. Bumped into Ricky Tomlinson in the early 90s by Liverpool docks as I was with some relatives he worked with. He was very lovely and down to earth. That's about it I think 😂😂😂😂 Oh my daughter had a lock in with Kris Marshall a couple of years ago when she worked and lived in Bath. He was very friendly she said and very drunk. She was also next to Lee Mack's son in a concert recently 😂😂😂

Similar to yours OP as I met the fella that played Mike Dixon in Brookside in a bar in Ibiza. He was very polite to 18 year old me 😂

I used to live close to the King's Road in Chelsea and shop in Kensington High St so seen loads in the shops and pubs including members of the Royal Family. No one actually took much notice, we were all wrangling kids, choosing dinners, nipping from shop to shop and just getting through life.

I've lived near Primrose Hill and in Muswell Hill, both places where celebrities roam free and largely unhassled. I've seen Liam and Noel Gallagher arguing in the pub, had a drink with Chris Evans and his mates, regularly smiled and nodded at Ray Davis in the High Street, was impressed by Peter Capaldi's shoes in M&S, etc
