Looking for inspiration! We don't normally go on holiday but I really fancy it this year.
Considering possibly Toronto but happy to hear about anywhere
How long do you go for and why have you decided to go there?

Staying put till our finances recover from the shit show that is cancer & Covid.

Toronto sounds ace though. Enjoy!

RachelCarew · 11/01/2025 12:41

We might do a Nordic trip - haven't firmed up the detail yet but probably four destinations, combination of train to the first destination, trains, a ferry and flight home from the last city. Not sure how long yet, somewhere between 15 and 20 days I imagine. Me and two young adult DC.

We all love that part of the world, find the different cultures interesting, plus we all hate the heat so prefer somewhere cooler.

Portugal in Easter hols using BA points to fly, and going to an Airbnb apartment on the beach we've been to before.
Cheap little trip to Paignton at start of summer hols via booking.com.
1 week at end of summer to France- sharing a chateau with a few other families to celebrate big birthdays.

LittleGreenDuck · 11/01/2025 12:53

We're off to the Alps for mountain biking, kayaking, white water rafting etc. Kids are teens now and have had enough of beach holidays.

We will also squeeze in a couple of city breaks. Probably Copenhagen and Budapest. Perhaps a long weekend in Edinburgh.

DoneAdulting · 11/01/2025 12:55

Florida and of this month, California in May and Florida again in December.

Sirzy · 11/01/2025 12:55

Two week cruise to Sweden /Denmark/ Norway way in July.

eacapade1982 · 11/01/2025 12:56

Greece overland (train and bus) at Easter

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 11/01/2025 12:56

Looking at somewhere in mainland Spain, not been before. Colorado for a family visit.

MissyB1 · 11/01/2025 12:58

Sardinia at the end of June for two weeks. Then 3 nights in Belgium in August, going on Eurostar.

ringmybe11 · 11/01/2025 12:59

Week in Corfu in May and week in Mallorca in June. Have a 2 yr old DC and we were blasted with illness all autumn and winter last year so didn't want to chance anything regarding timing this year. Hopefully we'll book something else as we did multiple holidays pre DC and have done very little since he was born.

Madrid and USA so far planned this year.

Planning to go away for Christmas this year but haven't a clue where yet!

annonymousse · 11/01/2025 13:00

Short trip to Malta next week and a 2 week trip to Japan at the end of march/beginning of April. I'm very excited.

Shampoointhetoilet · 11/01/2025 13:12

Cornwall on Monday.

Bergerac in February.

Thailand and Cambodia in April.

Croatia in June.

Efteling in July.

Nothing planned after that, but we'll probably go away somewhere for Christmas as it's not "our turn" with the children/grandchildren this year..

Are you me?? 😂

We have the same plans and also looking at a Christmas break.

ApolloandDaphne · 11/01/2025 13:19

Madrid in April

Finland in July

Corfu in September.

We will probably fit a few other trips in, either in UK or Europe.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 11/01/2025 13:22

Lots of UK weekend breaks on the cards.

Skiing in Feb half term.

California (well - hopefully. Obviously a pin in this one currently due to the fires) as a work trip over Easter - taking DS as there's good childcare attached to the offices and we'll do Disney/sightseeing for a few days each end.

Scotland for the NC500 in May (alternating cheap hotels/camping)

European road trip (France/Germany/Austria/Hungary/Croatia/Slovenia/Italy) this summer - camping and Eurocamps.

Possibly New York this autumn? DM wants to go but not sure if she'll be well enough to travel.

Sitting on my hands to prevent myself from booking Lapland as well 🫣

zeibesaffron · 11/01/2025 13:29

Toronto and Niagara Falls in April, Krakow with my son for 4 days in May then Corfu in September for a week 😀

AutumnOcean · 11/01/2025 13:36

Indonesia, Thailand and Taiwan.

aintnospringchicken · 11/01/2025 13:36

Tenerife in March
Weekend in St Andrews in April
Malaga in May
Planning a trip to Toronto for either June or September.
Will also do a couple of week long UK breaks still to be arranged.

TheTruthHurtsDontIt · 11/01/2025 13:38

Egypt for 2.5 weeks in just over a week, can't bloody wait. We go every January to blow the cobwebs off after Christmas and have a reset and some sun.

Then Budapest in June for a week, one of my favourite places on earth, just to mooch about and spend way too much time in our favourite wine bar.

Then maybe a UK break later in the year.

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 11/01/2025 13:40

Crete end of august. Nothing else booked yet but hoping for a few weekends away if finances allow.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 11/01/2025 13:41

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 11/01/2025 13:42
