DS(5) has been awake over an hour. After half an hour or so he came into bed with us (so he doesn't wake his smaller sibling) and we're categorically not doing gifts for at least two more hours. But, he cannot sleep.

It's going to be a long day!!

Mine are up for the day but we’re not in the UK

Ours were up at 530 and I am already EXHAUSTED!!! It's 240pm here now and I need to go to bed!

I'm feeding mine but she's a baby and has no concept of Christmas. I'm hoping she'll go back to sleep after.

Dd is asleep. Dh is snoring but I have a cold that's mucked up my sleep and am quietly cursing and feeling sorry for myself

Yes! I made them go back to bed and now I can't fall back asleep 🤦🏼‍♀️

No kids here but I've been up since 1.45 and just can't drop off which is annoying because I have Christmas dinner to cook insomnia sucks

Mine has just woken up, announces there is no chance of going back to sleep and is watching Bluey in bed. Gahhhhhh

DS (7) awake since 4am… back in his room but can hear him talking to the cat. Praying he doesn’t wake DS (4).. long day ahead.

We had a 4.30 wake up 3 years ago, was a long day!
DD wakes up at 6/6.30 normally but she went for a wee at 4 and went back to sleep so I'm hoping it's a bit later.
I can't go back to sleep so I'm cuddling the cat downstairs watching the holiday 🤗

Mine both got up just before 5, can hear them pottering and chatting downstairs. They are both teenagers and both still horribly early risers whatever the day,
Last year they came up to my room with tea & toast for me at 6….

DD woke me coughing at 3.40. Came in to our bed at 4.30 and still not asleep! Just cuddles for now but I'm really hoping she falls back to sleep as it was after midnight when I got to bed!

3:51am for DD (9). We didn't come down until 5. Still waiting on DS (7) to wake up.

Nope! DD is 6. And I am patiently waiting for her to awaken. Giving her till 6. Doesn't she know Santa may of been 🙃

DD1(5) has just got up, but DH has taken her into other room to put TV on for her and he'll go back to sleep while she watches. DD2(2) still asleep for now. We said no stockings before 7 but if we can make it past 6 I'll be happy.

Nope but I am with pregnancy insomnia (so sort of? This other baby is keeping me awake...) it's only 5.30am though and dd is usually awake at about 7 so that gives me an hour and a half to have a nice relaxing shower and get ready at my own pace without chaos around me. So it's a plus really.

Mine woke up about 30 mins ago, I let them peek downstairs as they were driving me mad trying to creep down. I’ve sent them back to bed but can’t get back to sleep myself, not helped that one came into the bed as he sometimes does at 3am.

Mine are still asleep and every minute past 5 is a bonus!

But I’ve been awake since 2 with back pain and really hungry. Didn’t want to do anything about it in case I woke the kids but I regret that now. Will be a long day!

DS(6) woke up at 5 to go to the toilet and saw his full stocking on the way. I said he could open a small present provided he went back to sleep after. He opened a fart whistle and whispered about the noise it would make when he blows it then fell asleep clutching it. I would never have been able to do that as a child, I'd probably have been awake at 3 over excited!

No one is up yet.. good job as I'm wrapping presents 🤣 they are teens so won't see anyone until 9/10am.. if I'm lucky!! Good luck to all those parents starting the day with little ones xx
