Are your kids awake yet?

DS(5) has been awake over an hour. After half an hour or so he came into bed with us (so he doesn't wake his smaller sibling) and we're categorically not doing gifts for at least two more hours. But, he cannot sleep.

It's going to be a long day!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/12/2024 05:39

This year she didn't get the memo😂😂

Today 3am for fc pressie but she went back to sleep before opening stockings till 445

Mine are asleep. They’re 10 and 13. Youngest still struggles with sleep and isn’t my bed with his dad and I was on the air mattress on daughters floor that he was going to sleep in as we have family staying so other beds taken. My back is killing me. I might go prep some veg

Mine aren’t yet but likely to be by 6- they are sharing a room because of visitors so when one wakes that will be game over. They should 🤞 stay in their room until 7 but we will see…

100%!!! every year she sleeps in on christmas morning, longer than she does a normal day. This year I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have not been to sleep as I'm too excited. 19 minutes to goooooo

TempestStormAndWine · 25/12/2024 05:42

Baby DC2 is up for a millionth feed but I can hear DC1 stirring next door so don't want to put baby down in case he cries and properly wakes older DC. So we're just having a lovely sleepy cuddle until DC1 comes through 😊

GrammarTeacher · 25/12/2024 05:42

Mine are up but haven't come through yet. They're not meant to disturb us until 6. We'll see if that lasts.

justanotherboymum · 25/12/2024 05:42

4.45am wake up here, they are playing in the room until 6am for presents!!

BlackBean2023 · 25/12/2024 05:46

DD(8) woke me up at 4.20, she's gone back to bed but I'm wide awake listening to DH's ridiculously loud snoring. I've bought him a mouth guard for Xmas and I'm tempted to wake him up and give it to him now!

I'll get up after 6, turn the tree lights on and make a cuppa.

Mine are still asleep and every minute past 5 is a bonus!

But I’ve been awake since 2 with back pain and really hungry. Didn’t want to do anything about it in case I woke the kids but I regret that now. Will be a long day!

Spoke too soon, they’re awake 😂

so far obeying instructions to leave us alone until 6.

Tippletoomany · 25/12/2024 05:51

purposely stayed at home away from my mums house where my niece is so i could get a good night sleep… i woke up at 3:45 and haven’t got back to sleep!

ThejoyofNC · 25/12/2024 05:53

Everyone still asleep here except for me. I woke up at 5 and put the turkey in and couldn't get back to sleep.

What time are you eating?!

LaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaa · 25/12/2024 05:58

4.50am here, ND and full of excitement! Relaxing quietly in bed for now as I said 6am was the earliest they could wake their brother up.

I’ve had about 4 hours of broken sleep - joy! Merry Christmas all 😬

ChronicallySleepy · 25/12/2024 06:00

DS6 is awake but is still in his room making little excited noises.
DD3 is still asleep.
I've woken up early to try and have a cup of tea & a shower before the chaos begins

RedRobyn2021 · 25/12/2024 06:00

No but I am and have been since 3:30 having cramps, I'm pregnant and I'm beginning to wonder if baby has chosen today 🙈

HappyMummaOfOne · 25/12/2024 06:02

I have a 3 year old and 6month old baby and was so worried they would be awake early that I set my alarm for 3.30am so I could quickly shower and pop some makeup on (I hate having photos without my war paint on to cover my dark bags under my eyes 😂) ……..and here I am at 6am with two kids still sound asleep! They are both normally awake by this time on a “normal” day!! The day I could have had a lie in and I get up at 3.30 hahahahahahhaha

DS(6) woke up at 5 to go to the toilet and saw his full stocking on the way. I said he could open a small present provided he went back to sleep after. He opened a fart whistle and whispered about the noise it would make when he blows it then fell asleep clutching it. I would never have been able to do that as a child, I'd probably have been awake at 3 over excited!

This is so precious!!

Letsgoforaskip · 25/12/2024 06:07

Merry Christmas everyone! My kids are now adult and I well remember your pain, but strangely feel a bit nostalgic for it! I’m up early for work, but looking forward to coming home to a Christmas dinner cooked by my DC.
Enjoy the craziness of the little children years. It may not feel like it, but in hindsight, it does fly by 🥰

Suntree32 · 25/12/2024 06:08

18 and 15, so will have to wake them up around 9 😂

This is so sweet!

My ds has just came in to ask if Santa's been. I told him to feel his stocking to see. We went into his room and he squeezed the stocking then ran back into bed. He wants to wait for other dc to wake up before he looks inside.

Wishing you all a merry ChristmasXmas Smile

Lemonandlime123 · 25/12/2024 06:09

DD4 up at 3 and finally got her back to sleep at 4:30. DD5 now up and waiting for her sister! I’m on coffee number 2 already 😂

Uricon2 · 25/12/2024 06:10

Strangely I woke up on the dot of 4, really awake, not dozey (or needing a loo trip) In my childhood (50+ years ago) this was the earliest tolerated getting up time on Christmas Day.

Thought of phoning my little bro to make up for all the times he made sure I was awake as soon as he was Grin

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

elb1504 · 25/12/2024 06:10

DS4 is still asleep which I'm surprised about as he's an early riser at the best of times. I'm awake as 35 weeks pregnant and baby has decided to camp out right in my ribs so sleep is uncomfortable! Might start prepping stuff for lunch if he's not awake soon!

Broken12 · 25/12/2024 06:11

Kids (1&4) asleep but I’m awake waiting for them to wake up 🤦🏻‍♀️
