Not great from me today. A couple of the outfits in the first one (on the ladies) looked older decades than the photo was. Should have focused more on the men!

I was 12 years out on photo 5 but it seemed credible. My main clue was the CD/DVD - they were expensive and special at first but were getting cheaper and ubiquitous by the 90s.

Sword couple - my clue there was the Newton's cradle, I remember when they seemed a cool novelty. I was only one year out on that!

Split in the scores today between the physics phans and the normal people.

I do like it when we get something interesting and decipherable.

Same shit, different day, re horse and carts (pic 1), it's my weak spot

It was a tricky one, because horses with big wagons and no motor cars looked really early, but there were telegraph/electric wires and a complicated looking array overhead.

I appreciated the pictures of American presidents in two others, even if I didn't pick the exact dates - sometimes the right decade is a bonus.

**, I have no idea about the last photo but made a guess based on how unIslamic the picture on the wall seemed to my not-very-educated eyes. Wrong, but only three years out. I hope someone on the spoilers thread will have more info later.

Pic 4. Very grainy for it supposed year. Only thing that makes it more modern after submitting year is the poster on the stand. Rest looks a timewarp

Picture 1 - only got this one today from guessing the burly man was 'Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf

Ditto, storming Norman, first gulf war.

Today my wife I guessed the same year, on the first 3 pics, quite unusual. I thought pic 1 was a world cup but was well out on which one.

Picture four today - a few people seen to have missed it.
Hiroshima. The building still stands as the Peace Memorial. I believe it was the closest building to the centre that stayed standing.

Ah yes I missed that! Seems obvious now…

Thank you @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats - I'm not sure whether I have ever seen that before which seems odd. I won't forget.

What’s the story with picture 4 today?

Looked far older than the photo is. Is it a film? I’m perplexed.

I know we've seen it before and remembered it was 'newer' than the 1940ish it looks like, but was still well over a decade out. The guy in the middle looks more showbiz than army.

But what about the historical hottie in picture 5? A married man, and at some stage wore shoes slightly too tight for him, but still . . .

Ha - very much worth a zoom in on the ‘historical hottie’. Very observant - didn’t see the wedding ring or the feet. Maybe I was distracted by his handsomeness…

Image #3 today is Japanese Americans boarding a train that will take them to an internment camp. A sad episode in American history.

Ah I didn’t realise that - yes very sad.

The sailors were on Ocean Beach San Fransisco and the building behind is a hotel that amazingly survived the 1906 earthquake but burned down in 1907. It was rebuilt several times and still exists, though it is not a hotel at present..

What a fantastic building! Very interesting to read its history.

2nd picture I believe was an assassination attempt on a president. I thought it was that and got the year bang on.
