I have attended many Christmas markets over the years. They are so crowded especially at the moment as German children finished school for the Christmas holidays. Frightening, my prayers are with all the victim's šŸ™

Well done cake you finally looked back over posts to get the information you incessantly requested.
I assure you I have not been radicalised, that's a very serious accusation to throw around in light of what happened in Germany. It is important to speak out & give opinion however. If you disagree with me that is fine but one should be able to speak out openly & not be accused of being radicalised or racist.

Your posts suggest you have a problem with some immigrants.

But you are talking about radicalisation which is a different thing and when asked about what you would do, you discussed stopping radicalisation. You didn't mention immigration.

How do you know you are not holding views that could be considered extreme?
How do you know that you are not just listening to certain perspectives to reinforce your points of view?

You mentioned some of the issues around "Winter Lights, Nativities" etc and then some people responded with alternate views.

Do you still have those issues?

You accused me of being radicalised, that is very serious cake .

Also the renaming of Christmas lights to winter lights for a variety is well known even in celebrity circles, it's not fabricated like many of the rubbish on this thread.

May have been radicalised.

When people start talking about Winter lights, nativities being cancelled because of other people's views, immigrants being a drain on society", this is language that may, in some people's views, start going to extremism.

What is radicalisation? | ACT Early

"Sometimes when people have very strong views they become extreme. This means the views they are expressing go beyond what the majority of people think are OK to hold. When someone is becoming more extreme in their views, they become increasingly intolerant of other people’s opinions when they oppose or challenge their own."

Cake I am taking what you said extremely seriously, just because you don't agree with you it most certainly does not mean I have been radicalised.
Go on twitter or tik tok if you really want extreme views.

No you said it was a slur.

I said it was a slur used by anti Muslim people to paint someone as a terrorist, and I said it in response to a poster who claimed the attacker had said it (we now know he did not). I did not say it was a slur in general. I have no idea why you feel the constant need to twist my words, I can only conclude that it suits your clear anti immigrant agenda.

pointythings · 23/12/2024 13:55

Radicalisation comes in many different flavours.

Do you think your posting about " immigrants, winter lights, Nativities and immigrants becoming a drain on society" might have an effect on people who already have an issue with immigrants?

You did not give that explanation, you called it a slur! Stop digging.

No. People make up their own minds & opinions. It's called critical thinking .

I don't think they do.

I think that most people hear what they want to hear, listen to what they want to listen to, read things that confirm their views and don't seek out other views.

People have biases. We all do. Including you.

People are just lazy thinkers, especially when it comes to forming opinions.

But when asked to explore their opinions, they can change. I think your opinion changed because initially you said it was an attack specifically in Christians but you now say that no one really knows yet why the attack was carried out. You reflected and your opinion changed.

But people are lazy thinkers.

But I think you said that you didn't know the motives for the attack when initallly you said it was an attack aimed at Christians?

Do you think that people form their own views independently or do you think someone's views can easily be influenced by biases?

Someone who knows about critical thinking should know the answer to that question.

None of us know his motive. However with your interrogation skills maybe you should be in Germany getting to the bottom of it.
I can only speak for myself, l am not influenced by other peoples views or opinions. I am quite capable of forming my own

No cake the people who do these things are the ones affecting views.

According to some there is no tolerance at all for any Christmas stuff whether it's father Christmas, celebration of light or anything. It's all out there.

There has been literally zero evidence that Christians have been the intended targets.

Maybe he hated Christians too seeing as he attacked a Christmas market. We don't know his motives but his attack was an attack on all celebrating advent & Christmas.

Personally from what I'm reading he's a deeply disturbed man and I suspect he didn't know his own views either.

Why is an article about telling children about Santa Claus relevant,? That's a bog standard Mumsnet discussion.
Also who cares about some celebrity bullshit or someone wishing Happy Holidays.
What does that have to do with anything?
