I have attended many Christmas markets over the years. They are so crowded especially at the moment as German children finished school for the Christmas holidays. Frightening, my prayers are with all the victim's šŸ™

I said on the other thread about this that in Stratford Upon Avon, concrete barriers are erected at market entrances. I thought that would be commonplace now. Terrible.

MushMonster · 20/12/2024 22:07

It was in 2016, Berlin.
They will need to put car proof barriers on the sides of yhese markets, to be honest. Change how they are seggregated from the road.
Why so many hateful people in the world?

A doctor.. a doctor! A person meant to whole heartedly believe in caring for others.

And he's a doctor so highly educated don't you think the profile is strange.

Maybe it's radicalised, a sleeper maybe something happened to him to trigger this something traumatic.

It's not the usual profile of newer arrivals and less educated?? Less education mkre open to manipulate

Sadly it's not uncommon for doctors to commit atrocities. It seems counterintuitive but perhaps it's because they need a level of emotional detachment. Eg Assad is a doctor. The terrorist in the Glasgow airport attack was a doctor. Many doctors in Gaza are involved in Hamas atrocities and some even are fighters.

MushMonster · 20/12/2024 22:17

You say there was a demonstration against a Christian celebration in Germany? In that area? Lead by who?
My mind really cannot fanthom how a doctor passes from healing to killing and injuring, after many years in the country and whatever is the reason to target a Christmas market or have any issues with Christmas?

CinnamonClovesBrownVelvet · 20/12/2024 22:20

It's on x so can't tell what's true I'm loathe to repeat as you know how ai can manipulate things but it looks like some sort of protest going through a Christmas Market but it could be coincidence eg March that happened to go through a market.

It's just so fucking awful.

CinnamonClovesBrownVelvet · 20/12/2024 22:21

Guy on sky just said not typical profile age, occupation etc.

MyLovelyLily · 20/12/2024 22:25

There have been so many terror attacks in Germany, big and small, some in local news only and especially around the county and area where I am living, that I desperately want to move back to the U.K. We don't feel safe raising our child here because nothing ever changes and nothing is ever done to make it safer or less likely to happen. It's very sad.

Not sure about age, but if anything doctors seem to be disproportionately likely to be terrorists. It does seem massively counter intuitive though - years of training and working to save lives only to choose to deliberately end as many as possible? Like a PP suggested, maybe a learnt ability to detach from human suffering. Maybe arrogance, believing yourself worthy of having power over the life and death of others?

I'm not suggesting all doctors are potential terrorists btw šŸ˜‚

I would say definitely radicalised..he lived in Germany 18 years. To target the most innocent victims celebrating the start of Christmas is pure evil.

Is the main aim of these groups to spread fear so people stop attending Christmas markets & concerts? This is their way of putting an end to them so society will shift to suit their depraved needs?

Doctors involved in terrorism in Gaza - what is the evidence for this??

Gosh it's just so sad. I was having a look at news articles on FB and unfortunately have my videos on auto play šŸ«£šŸ˜”šŸ˜¢ absolutely sickening. Those poor people.

What is wrong with people doing this.

Religion

Exactly I don't care what dusty old book people conform too or which fabeled deity they worship.
Leave the rest of the populace out of it.

I have some bad news for you...

The UK isn't far behind Germany at all. If you have the option, I'd suggest going for a country with far stricter immigration policies.

Why do they hate so much? Why come to the west if they can't tolerate our way of life? Some say they are fleeing persecution but want to turn the west into exactly what they are fleeing from!

Yes religion the radicalism etc has it's roots in religion it may not be the true interpretation of the religion but it's an interpretation nonetheless .
Dusty old books still causing problems centuries later.

They want the perks and luxuries that are created by a liberal society.

But they don't want a liberal society, and cannot stand that their backwards way of stone age thinking will never create such a society.

That is where the jealousy and hatred comes from.

"No, not religion.

Well the fact that the attack was at a Christmas market in December would suggest that religion and a hatred towards those attending this Christmas event did actually have something to do with it.

Agree 100%.. there are plenty of groups here kn the UK demanding the word Christmas be removed from schools.. want nativities, cribs, carols banned. Why move to a country then try dictate the status quo?
Even look at those calling Christmas lights winter lights... the pushback must be immense. We cannot bow down to this.
