I have attended many Christmas markets over the years. They are so crowded especially at the moment as German children finished school for the Christmas holidays. Frightening, my prayers are with all the victim's šŸ™

@cakeorwine I suspect any information is being carefully withheld because Germany has different laws around a suspect also they won't want riots and problems.

cakeorwine · 23/12/2024 12:45

Treetops11 · 23/12/2024 12:42

Exactly. We can see through the lies, cover ups & withholding information. They don't like critical thinkers who can see through the bullshit they want us to believe.

Do you think you have been radicalised and are reading things, researching things and listening to things that confirm your own views?

katter · 23/12/2024 12:45

CinnamonClovesBrownVelvet · 23/12/2024 12:43

In the Indian paper people are saying he used that as a ruse so he wouldn't get sent back.

What Indian paper?
Please prove your sources.

Cake please start reading back through thread. All the answers to your questions are there. Your interrogation style is quite amusing but I will no longer repeat myself.

I'm unclear - surely you can state what you believe is being withheld, what facts you believe and can explain them.

I am not arguing with you - just trying to explore your beliefs and what has helped you form your beliefs.

CinnamonClovesBrownVelvet · 23/12/2024 12:48

@PeasfullPerson I don't recall it being a funny time of year when I was young teens twenties?
Only since 9/11 etc has fear grown around Christmas festivals.

That's why bollards are up. Apparently a police van should have been blocking the entrance to that market because the bollards had come down because of the market..
Isn't it disgusting that any society has to think about these things. A police van wasn't in place and now one poor boy has had his life robbed and 4 women.

Einaldilastcup · 23/12/2024 12:51

katter · 23/12/2024 12:10

Unfortunately me and people wil be affected by the political climate following these attacks.
You won't.

Yeah... were all in a bit of mess aren't we...

CinnamonClovesBrownVelvet · 23/12/2024 12:52

@katter I can't link but if you Google German Market suspect it will come up.

Why wasn't the police van in place? Had it been there then left momentarily?

Read the thread rather than hashing over old already answered questions.

You wanting to 'explore" ops beliefs is nauseating and creepy

Seems that they is an awful lot of fear, anger & criticism in Germany about the way the lead up to this atrocity was handled..
Many questions of govt policy, security & how they treat intelligence need to be answered.

Why do you think it's creepy to explore why someone has an opinion?

Or are you of the opinion that people should just state their opinions?

Do you think that if someone gives a counter opinion will change your opinion?

Or do you think that exploring the reasons for an opinion is the best way to get people to look at their reasoning?

Can you explain what you think the OP wants and believes?

pointythings · 23/12/2024 13:03

Treetops11 · 23/12/2024 12:35

You were the one who referred to it as a slur!!! How the hell did you actually think that? What an insult to the Muslim community.
Looks like you finally educated yourself.

I didn't. You interpreted it that way. Which of course fits your agenda.

routinelife · 23/12/2024 13:07

Covidwoes · 21/12/2024 07:22

@Treetops11 who are these groups wanting the removal of these things? Can you name them specifically so I can do some research?

I've seen two nativities this term, made Christingle oranges, and been to church with my class (I'm a teacher), so what you are saying really doesn't ring true with me at all. We aren't a church school either. My daughter's nursery also did a xmas play featuring Mary, Joseph and Jesus. I've also been to two Christmas lights (not winter lights) displays.

OP seems to have taken this terrible event as a great excuse to spread hate against a certain group of people.

OneAmberFinch · 23/12/2024 13:09

@1dayatatime Exactly, people's actions speak louder than words. I don't need to read a manifesto to know that someone ramming a car into a Christmas market is probably not on the side of things I value.

Why are people so against profiling in cases like these? If I hear of a bunch of white guys beating up an Asian taxi driver I don't go scouring their twitter accounts to see if ackshually they had anxiety and Tourette's...

katter · 23/12/2024 13:11

Treetops11 · 23/12/2024 12:39

So he wasn't claiming asylum as he was an atheist which is what many of the posters are claiming on here with their misinformation.
He claimed asylum as he opposed the royal family!

It seems to have been both.

Covidwoes · 23/12/2024 13:14

@routinelife this does seem the case, sadly. Wouldn't surprise me if her name was June Slater, was all over X, and an ardent supporter of Farage and Elon Musk.

It's horrible how people exploit these awful events to spread even more hate.

Because you dont really want to explore her 'beliefs' you want her to keep repeating herself to derail and try and pick at points that are actually irrelevant - similar to what your doing now with me. so i wont be replying anymore.

Go 'explore' something else

If you read the posts, you will see that by exploring her beliefs, the OP and others have changed their opinion that this was specifically an attack on Christians as they first stated.

It seems clear that the OP and others are now unsure of the specific motive for the attack.

So that's what happens when you have an opinion and someone asks what leads them to that opinion.

You can change your mind.

But it does look like the OP might have some issue with some immigrants and may herself have been radicalised.

"Agree 100%.. there are plenty of groups here kn the UK demanding the word Christmas be removed from schools.. want nativities, cribs, carols banned. Why move to a country then try dictate the status quo?
Even look at those calling Christmas lights winter lights... the pushback must be immense. We cannot bow down to this"

"It's everywhere, nativities being changed into winter performances with penguins & seals instead of Mary & Joseph..
Winter lights instead of Christmas lights... all in the name of "inclusivity"

"It's funny as many expect western culture to change to exactly what they are supposed to be fleeing their home countries from. There was a huge march this year in Germany calling for a caliphate & sharia law."

"How many immigrants are not working in the UK, have many children & are a drain on society? How do those numbers compare to those in the NHS.
How many in schools across the country with no English & parents make no effort to learn the language & support their children's education? TAs & schools struggling to cope with these children & it's having a knock on effect on other children in the class.
These are the questions that need answering."

"But the party that is currently governing is doing a terrible job also . So many multiculturalism just isn't working. Immigrants need to adapt to the country they move to not expect society to change to suit them. Many do an excellent job but some have no inclination or interest. They hate western, liberal society but expect it to change to suit their demands"

OneAmberFinch · 23/12/2024 13:26

@cakeorwine

Some say "radicalised".

Others say "peaking".
