I have attended many Christmas markets over the years. They are so crowded especially at the moment as German children finished school for the Christmas holidays. Frightening, my prayers are with all the victim's šŸ™

The reality is that the profile of the attacker is unusual and complex and I don't think the his real motives will ever be known and he probably doesn't even know himself.

The suggestion that he was far right or anti Islamist doesn't add up with his choice of target namely a Christmas market where the majority of the victims would have been German, white and Christian.

I do think that it is very much in the interest of the MSM and the German government to portray this attack as somehow being linked to the AfD (with elections due early next year) and Islamophobic to avoid encouraging any anti Muslim protests when so little fact is known right now. There have even been suggestions that he was somehow working for the Israelis which is desperate anti semetic bollocks.

What we do know for sure is that he was an asylum seeker, warnings were sent by Saudi that he was an "extremist" and that he was an angry unstable individual.

It is also true to state that if he had refused asylum and had been deported to Saudi then this attack would not have occurred.

I agree that this is a weird case, the authorities seem to agree.
Considering he openly talked about his political leanings to friends an journalists and postet them online a lot about him has been known in such a short time.
I think a lot of people are irritated that despite his nationality and actions his views are actually the polar opposite to what was expected.

It is part of the gas lighting to label Reform, national rally in France (and maybe afd but don't know much about them) as "far right" when their policies of no mass immigration, secure borders etc was mainstream in the 80s and 90s and even Labour had those policies and we didn't have barriers everywhere and spend billions in monitoring these people. In my view it is the main political parties now who are extremists particularly with allowing mass immigration of millions of unvetted men that could be criminals/terrorists and often hate us putting our security at risk (our leaders don't care as they have personal security). I wish people would wake up and stop letting these politicians and media gaslight us through this labeling.

Zero fucks given - name calling is all anyone can do lately!

Exactly! I have been called racist so much on this thread as that's all those posters can do, name call.
I have had @BadgerIndungarees claiming I called the murderer a "brown man" which is absolutely not true & Badger is refusing to quote where I allegedly said this!
It's all this lot can do name call & fabricate.

I see a lot of fabrication and guess work on this thread about what actually happened.

PeasfullPerson · 23/12/2024 11:39

What are you trying to achieve here?

Firstly I want @badgerindungarees to find the post where I allegedly called the murderer a "brown man"!

He told his friends he was a supporter.
He also openly tweeted support for rdifferent right wing politicians around europe.

Yes I agree

Einaldilastcup · 23/12/2024 11:18

What a load of rubbish - and what on earth has that got to do with yet another terrorist attack on Christmas goers?

Stop it with the hyperbole

So the motivations behind these attacks don't matter?
Having right wing demonstrations in front of grieving people does not matter?
A guy openly posting on TikTok about planning an attack on arabs does also not have anything to do with the attacks einher?
Sure.

Einaldilastcup · 23/12/2024 11:50

Efacsen · 23/12/2024 11:45

Whats interesting is the hare hill riots were largely over looked & the BLM riots

The destruction of property is out of order no matter who is doing it - but we cant have one set of people given a free pass because of their identity.

I didn't say that you explicitly called him a brown man. It's funny I've managed to get to the grand age of 40 and have never been called a racist yet it seems like many think you are. Maybe you should sit back and reflect on why people might think that. Posting up a storm with your views that reflect those of a man who committed mass murder just a few days might have something to do with why people are finding your posts so abhorrent.

I'm not responding to you again, it's 2 days before Christmas and I have no desire to waste my time on someone who wishes to spread hate in the wake of an appalling crime. My thoughts are with all of those who have been personally affected by this awful act. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to some that all kinds of hate can lead to extremism and more moderate voices will prevail.

1dayatatime · 23/12/2024 11:53

CinnamonClovesBrownVelvet · 23/12/2024 11:19

But we do know Saudi wanted him back

And we also know that if he had been sent back to Saudi then the nine year old boy Andre Gleissener would have been celebrating Christmas with his family, opening presents instead of being killed at the Christmas market.

katter · 23/12/2024 11:54

DuncinToffee · 23/12/2024 11:18

Where did you read that he was a fugitive?

It has been widely reported across different channels that he claimed asylum because he was opposing the royal family in Saudi Arabia.

Treetops11 · 23/12/2024 11:38

Sure.

Go and froth some where else.

I couldn't give a flying toss about motivations. Dress it up as much as you like and make excuses all you like.

Christians were targeted yet again at a Christian event.

The media and governments will be making out he is a retired priest with depression

I know, he was recognised as a refugee and granted asylum.

Fugitive is something different, so I was wondering where that came from

Im surprised he is a choir. buy from wales tbh..

If he is angry at the Saudi royal family - why is trying to kill christians at at a christmas event?

just doest add up does it? Strange

Nobody in this day and age should care one bit about being called racist.

Posting up a storm with your views that reflect those of a man who committed mass murder just a few days might have something to do with why people are finding your posts so abhorrent

How does anything she says reflect those of a man with an ethnic hatred of Germans? Be clear.

someone who wishes to spread hate in the wake of an appalling crime. My thoughts are with all of those who have been personally affected by this awful act

Nobody is spreading hate. We want to find solutions. Thoughts and prayers won’t cut it.

Hopefully this will be a wake up call to some that all kinds of hate can lead to extremism and more moderate voices will prevail

Classic DARVO right here.

quantumbutterfly · 23/12/2024 12:07

It's always interesting, the difference between what you're told and what you see, all very 1984. For instance, we were told that Biden was fit and well and completely in charge. That would be gaslighting I suppose.
I'm very concerned about the rates of immigration, and the actions of disenchanted men (and women) from all groups creating civil unrest.
MLK's dream was to judge by the quality of character not the colour of skin, it's still a judgement.
For those banging on about 'brown people', from the photos I've seen of the perpetrator he's less brown than many of the 'white people' I know. I may need a new dulux chart.

DuncinToffee · 23/12/2024 12:08

Nowhere it states that he hated Germans or Christians, so why keep making things up

CinnamonClovesBrownVelvet · 23/12/2024 12:08

It's very curious, Indian paper claiming there is a secret society of ex Muslims who support each other. secret because of apostateThey said they interacted with him and one felt he was unstable, he was weird around the women he helped flea. They didn't believe he as ex Muslim and felt he was harassing the girls he was helping to flea.

You won't.

We are in the U.K where its not normal AT ALL.

Stop gaslighting
