Our Ring doorbell has just been stolen

We left the house at 3am to take dd to airport. Five minutes later the doorbell was stolen. But the odd thing was, there was no footage of the thief. How???

Just reported to police.

Ffs. Does this mean they were watching us leave the house?! Will they come back to burgle us??

How do I know it's been stolen?? Because it isn't on my wall any more? And it didn't capture any video of the thief??

It's would be one hell of a coincidence if they stole it five minutes after you left the house at 3am if they hadn't seen you leave!

People use wifi jammers to block the wifi to a Ring doorbell to stop it recording.

It is worrying, isn't it. To steal it just after you'd gone out.
I suppose it'll make you more security conscientious until you can replace it.

There is a certain irony to this. I've heard of somebody building a sophisticated bicycle alarm, and the alarm was stolen, instead of the bike.

Are you sure it wasn’t knocked off wheb you all left the house? Especially if you had luggage/bags etc

They’re easy to resell and get nicked often. There are security screws you can add to make it harder.

They're screwed on! And if knocked off it would be on the floor. Presumably she has looked down.

It was attached by sticky pad. It's a clear five minutes after we left and there is no video footage of the last motion sensed. We didn't knock it off. FFS.

But we never leave the house at that time. What are the odds that someone was watching us the very night we leave at that time? I don't like it.

I would imagine the sticky pad failed and you will find it in the morning when it's light. It probably just fell down. Hence not being alerted by motion as there was none. Either that or the battery needs charging.

Did your dd put anything on sonically media about going to airport early and you taking her?

It maybe people were expecting you to leave that time?

If there’s been other action within 10 mins mine doesn’t capture it again in that window. Probably what happened. I believe you can change it in the settings to record everything.
