How often do you change your bedsheets?

I change my bedsheets every week, no matter the weather. After a week, they just start to feel dirty, and I can’t stand it. I recently came across a discussion where people in an office shared how often they change theirs, and the answers ranged from every two weeks to as long as 2-3 months! I can’t wrap my head around that—anything beyond two weeks feels unhygienic to me. What about you?

Duvet cover is once a week but bottom sheet and pillows twice a week, 3 year old son’s get changed twice a week.

In an ideal world I’d do it daily, love fresh sheets!

Less often than there is a thread on MN asking how often people change their sheets.

BadPeopleFan · 02/12/2024 13:45

Once a week religiously, kids have to strip and remake their beds on Sundays.
We all shower daily and wear pyjamas in bed but a week is the longest I will go. We do have dogs sleeping on the bed with us so longer than a week would be disgusting 🤢

Whatshallwedohere · 02/12/2024 16:42

Weekly!

Okayornot · 02/12/2024 17:12

Weekly, because I love clean sheets.
If I did them less I think I would still change the pillowcases weekly, otherwise I get a bit spotty.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 02/12/2024 17:16

Every week sometimes twice a week in summer

Didn't you know that all Mumsnetters change their bedsheets at least twice a night?

JohnTheRevelator · 03/12/2024 05:10

BTsrule · 02/12/2024 15:45

Every week, people who don't are lazy. X

Count me in on that one - I'm a super lazy b

lobsterkiller · 03/12/2024 05:22

I change every week, its just me in the bed. I think it just became habitual and I love fresh smelling sheets.

I don't think it's minging pushing it for longer, unless sweaty or fusty smelling.

StarlightLady · 03/12/2024 06:18

Every Monday. It’s part of my start the week routine.

Once a week usually but dont have a routine. probably wash bedding more frequently than some clothes

Disturbia81 · 16/01/2025 09:59

Every few weeks now it's just me, no sweaty man stinking the sheets up 🤣

Chipsahoy · 16/01/2025 10:00

Every Monday. I wash pillow cases three times a week too, but I struggle with acne.

GameOfJones · 16/01/2025 11:40

Every 2 weeks for most of the year, always on a Sunday. Mine and DH's bed one week and DDs' bedding the next week. We shower every night before bed and don't sleep naked so 2 weeks feels fine.

In Summer it's usually weekly because it's hotter, and drying outside is easier. Regardless I couldn't go past 2 weeks without changing the bedding....or have pets sleeping on the bed 🤢.
