How often do you change your bedsheets?

I change my bedsheets every week, no matter the weather. After a week, they just start to feel dirty, and I can’t stand it. I recently came across a discussion where people in an office shared how often they change theirs, and the answers ranged from every two weeks to as long as 2-3 months! I can’t wrap my head around that—anything beyond two weeks feels unhygienic to me. What about you?

@mrsfollowill A futility room? Nice idea, but I don't really see the point myself.

GoldenLegend · 01/12/2024 23:47

Every 7-10 days

livanlaterlaterlater · 01/12/2024 23:47

Depends on how smelly the dog is !!Weekly or two Weekly depending on dog and time of the year!

MummyNurseWifi · 01/12/2024 23:48

My cleaner does it every week although I've asked her to do every other week as I can't keep up with the washing!

GoldenLegend · 01/12/2024 23:50

Once a fortnight. People who say they do it more often than that are either full of shit, or have too much time on their hands

Charming.

It takes all of five minutes. I doubt I’d sleep well on scuzzy bedding.

It's the drying at this time of the year that is a problem for me.

Copperoliverbear · 01/12/2024 23:53

Every week, people who don't are lazy. X

Franjipanl8r · 01/12/2024 23:54

Surely it depends on how smelly people are and whether they wash before or after bed. And if they have sex in bed! Some people have loads more body odour and hair oil than others so need to wash sheets and clothes more often.

pooballs · 01/12/2024 23:56

Every two weeks. Ideally would do them once a week but never happens.

IncessantNameChanger · 01/12/2024 23:59

Arewethebadguys · 01/12/2024 22:42

Changed mine twice in the time it took to read your post.

😄😄

I used to change mine weekly. I also used to iron ( never the bedding mind) then I had kids and everything went to pot so its two weekly as I have five beds to change, wash and dry. I think there's a lot to said about washing pillow cases more often. Not that I ever get round to that either.

WooleyMunky · 02/12/2024 00:00

I only change the sheets when DP/DH/OH soils the bed, then I LTB.

DiscoBeat · 02/12/2024 00:00

Once a week unless it's hot, and then twice.

😂😂

Dear God. Me & this phone are going to part ways!! I type normal word & it changes it to utter crap!!

that should have been weekly at a minimum

& drying, not crying, day.

every day is a crying day!!

Pipconkermash · 02/12/2024 00:01

Every other day.

BadgersGalore · 01/12/2024 22:46

Frequent washing releases microplastics into the environment and wastes energy and water. Instead I open a brand new set of bedding every day and burn the old ones in a metal bin on my front garden.

What about smoke? I know it doesn’t release microplastic but still quite bad.
I aim to change them fortnightly but my care for environment always prevails and I do it every 3 weeks.

ForGreyKoala · 02/12/2024 00:03

Whenever I think they need to be changed. There is only me living here and the sheets don't get smelly.

Ladyof2024 · 02/12/2024 00:09

Bottom sheet every week. Duvet cover and pillow cases and mattress protector once a fortnight.

FayKerrfromIRL · 02/12/2024 00:18

Well since I don't drink tea in bed, I don't drool, or sweat for that matter, I wash my bed linens about every couple of months, and sometimes longer, yes, depending on what the weather is like for drying linens outdoors, draped over the fence in the back garden.
I would never wash bed linens often, it's just way too much work to take the linens off and then to put them back on again.
It may be good exercise, but I'd rather spend my energy doing something more fun on the bed.
Thanks to ALL the PPs on here, those who say they wash "every two weeks" and those who take the P.
This is the first time I've LOL while reading posts on here.

LoafofSellotape · 02/12/2024 00:20

Once or twice a week.

invisiblebark · 02/12/2024 00:34

In an ideal world, once a week. (Nothing nicer than getting into a clean bed)

Reality, though, is probably every 4-6 weeks.

Towels, same. Ideally once a week. Reality 4-6 weeks or when we notice they're starting to become obviously gross.

DH showers every night as he works a manual job. I shower once a week, on average, twice on a good week.

Also, have two hairy cats.

BadeballSkihipto · 02/12/2024 00:36

One year.
