How often do you change your bedsheets?

I change my bedsheets every week, no matter the weather. After a week, they just start to feel dirty, and I can’t stand it. I recently came across a discussion where people in an office shared how often they change theirs, and the answers ranged from every two weeks to as long as 2-3 months! I can’t wrap my head around that—anything beyond two weeks feels unhygienic to me. What about you?

I'd never even manage once a fortnight as I like the sheets to be aired for at least a week. Pillowcases once a week but if one wears PJs, the sheets stay clean!!
All these clean people and yet...they let dogs lick their faces and don't wash their hands after being on the tube!

Every Christmas whether they need it or not.

😁

shower once a week, on average, twice on a good week.

😳 you can't say that on MN

Prettytiles · 02/12/2024 01:11

Every fortnight. I do not have the energy to do it more, or the time. Pillowcases weekly. That’s a bit random, I know.

Every week, people who don't are lazy. X

What about chronically ill or disabled people? What about carers, single parents doing their best or people working ridiculous hours every week?

I fit in to one of these categories. Dh and I sleep separately now. So every fortnight.

QueenBitch666 · 02/12/2024 01:28

Weekly without fail

Once a fortnight. People who say they do it more often than that are either full of shit, or have too much time on their hands

Or are just more hygienic Grin

Changed mine twice in the time it took to read your post.

Only twice? Aren't you worried about the smell? I changed mine six times.

niadainud · 01/12/2024 22:36

Every 45 minutes.

God that made me laugh

user1497787065 · 02/12/2024 02:36

I change my bed weekly but whenever the 'What would you doing you won the lottery?' Question comes up I always say I would have my bed changed every day. I love getting into fresh sheets which have also been ironed.

coxesorangepippin · 02/12/2024 03:12

Slovenly here, once a month

tuvamoodyson · 02/12/2024 03:30

Weekly.

VacuumPacked · 02/12/2024 07:12

Jackie Kennedy had clean sheets twice a day - in the morning,
then after her post luncheon nap.

I agree thats why I said upthread it has to be taken into consideration other hygiene habits people have regarding their body, home and bed. It’s throws me a bit when I see social media influencers who have their dog putting its bum and paws on a freshly laundered bedsheets declaring how clean they like their bed to be.

I personally think everyone has their things that they’re fussy about it and things that they are less so fussy about when it comes to cleanliness.

They’d do well to remember that before suggesting others are being unhygienic.

Keepingongoing · 02/12/2024 08:54

Aim for once a fortnight but I’m reliant on carers to do it so sometimes it’s every 3 weeks. I’d love it done weekly but would cost me too much! I change the pillow case myself more often.

No pets, don’t use body oils, sleep separately from DP, always wear nightclothes in bed.

I do however air the bed every morning- turn back the duvet, open the window for an hour.

Petergriffinschins · 02/12/2024 10:04

When I win the lottery, I shall have a housekeeper to change my bedding daily. I love the feel of fresh sheets.

I aim for weekly but sometimes it's every two weeks

This is the same for me.

DitheringBlidiot · 02/12/2024 11:51

Weekly in the summer, every other week in the winter

Augustus40 · 02/12/2024 11:56

I do mine monthly. I have a whole king size bed all to myself.

19yr ds has a double bed. Also changed monthly.

Clearly we are disgusting.

Augustus40 · 02/12/2024 11:57

We shower daily plus no pets.

Pipconkermash · 02/12/2024 11:58

QueenBitch666 · 02/12/2024 01:43

Why so attention seeking? 😂

DoraDont · 02/12/2024 12:18

When I can be bothered, so probably once a fortnight in the summer when we sweat more and wear fewer nightclothes. We both wear sensible pyjamas in the winter and I air it every morning, so not as often, probably once a month. I do change the pillow cases more regularly.

eRobin · 02/12/2024 12:18

Admittedly, when I can be bothered. Every 1-2 weeks.
