Share some historical MN dilemmas and stories.
What kind of posts do you think we would be reading if MN was around in the good old days of yore?

My SIL
is one of those Suffrajens Suffrables or something. She thinks women should have the vote, she never stops taking about it. She’s been on marches & caused no end of trouble. AiBU to send her to Coventry? I’m perfectly happy to allow my husband decide who he should vote for. I’m happy to decide what colour ribbons to wear to keep myself pretty.

I'm tall (five foot), I've got some teeth, but once I put on myne undergowne, myne kirtle, myne hose, myne shirte, myne dresse, myne cotee and myne apron I just look like a dumpy browne coo.

Helfen me!

"I've got some teeth" 🤣🤣🤣

My babydaddy has made all his other kids Dukes and things but he's not given our youngest a title yet.

AIBU to hang the baby out of the window until Charlie boy comes up with something? I could LTB as I've got a good job as an actress, but I don't want the lil 'un to lose out. I think Duke of St Albans sounds nice, TBH. Perhaps I should post in baby names as well for opinions?

TIA

Nelly.

Nelly I think your post is too identifiable, you may want to use pseudonyms

Thanks @VaddaABeetch but I don't care if he sees this, I'm thinking of going through the CTS (Child Titles Service) anyway. They helped that troll(op) Barbara Castlemaine.

Flor5 · 30/10/2024 19:34

AIBU and a selfishe wench to stop reproducing after birthing my seventh childe? My dear husbande believeth so but I am thinking of the environmente. Truthe is that he does not favour pig gut condoms.

Larrythebloodycat · 30/10/2024 19:35

AIBU to stay home and avoid the New Variant Plague? The Docktors of Physicke have warned that it could slay a third of the population, but myn dere husbonde saith 'tis all a conspiracie and we should go a-wassailing as is our custom.

We are about to go on a mini break to Paris but there seems to have been some sort of riot at the prison. Should we be concerned?

Just describe yourself as "Citizen Jenny Chawleigh" and you'll be fine. I might avoid Versailles, though.

You might want to take your knitting with you.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 30/10/2024 19:43

I work in the City and my office is in a street now called William Congreve Mews. The burghers and aldermen insisted on changing its name but I worry my clients will no longer be able to find me. Gropecunt Lane was so much easier.

JennyChawleigh · 30/10/2024 19:52

Also I don't speak French very well - is it correct that the French for an Uber is a Tumbril?

Ellmau · 30/10/2024 20:00

AIBU to worry that DS who set off on his Grand Tour six months ago will spend all our money? He's already sent home vast numbers of Italian paintings and some stone statues he says are antiquities, and is asking for more money to buy more of them! We don't have room for everything in the castle, WIBU to burn a few of the older looking pictures?

Sharrilanda · 30/10/2024 20:58

Am raging.

My neighbour has been doing DIY day and night for the last 75 years.
Non stop sawing and hammering.
The sound just goes right through me.
On top of all that, his garden has started to resemble a zoo!
Would I be unreasonable to report him to environmental health?

Is he that crazy guy building a massive ship miles inland?
You might be better reporting him to the nearest maritime authority, not sure boats are under the remit of local building regs.

I wouldn't bother, Paris is revolting.

Just keep your head.

I've heard from a cousin that there's some new entertainment being laid on for the public. There's seating, but apparently it's a good idea to bring something with you to keep you occupied during the intervals - she suggested you bring your knitting.

Dobest · 30/10/2024 21:12

Dobest · 30/10/2024 21:20

Can anyone recommend a homo habilis in the Tanzania area?

Verily this scroll is most amusing and, were it not unseemly to do so,I would have permitted a dainty titter to escape my lips. What japes.

ItsVeryHyacinthBucket · 30/10/2024 21:24

T-Rexing in the supermarket aisles
Leather jackets making you look like Suzi Quattro’s fat nan
Keeping a special beaker of water next to the bed for washing your penis in after sex
A Camembert cheese falling out of the fridge being attributed to a xenophobic, British-hating French ghost
