Reading this story about a door handle stolen from a cafe made me wonder what the oddest thing someone has stolen from you? I once had some of my homemade CDs stolen from me on a train. Why would you steal someone’s really obvious crappy homemade megamix with their felt-tip handwriting scrawl all over it? I hope it skipped for them on the good songs!

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cdjekzxj4y4o I hope they get their handles back!

Men in CCTV sought after cafe door handle theft

The cafe in Redfield had its door handles stolen hours before opening for the first time.

Not what you asked but when I broke up with my abusive ex and left when he was on a business trip I stole the batteries from every device I could find, including the doorbell and his spare car key. Also took the screws in every door handle and slightly unscrewed the radiator brackets as well.

A pair of socks and a chocolate bar.

Paisleydad · 15/10/2024 18:46

Not stolen from me, but when I used to work in criminal justice, I encountered a chap accused of (and pleading guilty) to breaking into a house and stealing an iPad and a dildo.

That kind of makes sense .. 😆

My Guinea Pigs 😢. When I went to uni I took them with me and put the hutch in the Garden. Came back one day and they were gone.

My empty lunch box at Cannon Street Station. Literally saw someone running off with it

Personally, I never buy an Apple product.

Someone broke the rear window of my ford fiesta and stole the parcel shelf.

How bizarre! They obviously thought something was in it. Not nice for you though

Someone once broke into our garden shed and stole a pair of those plastic claws for picking up leaves. They must have had a real leaf problem!

I would not want either of those items back if recovered. 😳

BebbanburgIsMine · 15/10/2024 18:51

I left a sweeping brush outside once.

Someone unscrewed the pole and left me with just the brush part.

Yes, you don't want to using the keypad with your bare hands - you don't know who touched it last...

Devillishlooloo · 15/10/2024 18:52

Rotary clothes line without the base.

Well it saved washing it up! 😭 it was so odd. It was so clearly empty

someone also stole my brand new purse from New Look which only had the receipt for the purse inside but it’s obvious why they stole that!

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 15/10/2024 18:54

Someone stole the jack point covers on my Seat Leon car, they were clip in ones and when they went missing we assumed they fell off. Until the neighbour opposite showed us the cctv of someone walking up and removing them.

the80sweregreat · 15/10/2024 18:54

My late mums old neighbour left two bed sheets on the line and they got over our fence and over to hers and stole them one night .
I never leave any washing out since then ( as well as being 'darked on ' it may also go missing!)

Theunamedcat · 15/10/2024 18:55

My table! We were doing a walking car boot during covid years and I was packing away took the money and the leftovers inside came back out....where is the fucking TABLE!

A friend had their windscreen stolen.

Not from me exactly, but my photo off the staff board where all staff photos with names were listed.

I was waiting for April Fools day! It never reappeared.

Sharontheodopolodous · 15/10/2024 18:56

My narc mother used to come into my house and help herself to whatever she liked
She'd get the kids to give it to her,if she wanted it but couldn't steal it herself
Daft things like shampoo (i bought better brands)or dishcloths (she'd refuse to buy them)
I was a skint single mum and she's loaded
I'm nc with her now and have been for years-the fact she couldn't help herself pissed her off more than me stopping speaking to her

the80sweregreat · 15/10/2024 18:57

We had only just moved house and still in a bit of a mess , Dh left an pair of step ladders outside ( briefly ) went back outside to bring them in and gone in a flash within minutes
Fast workers!

Incakewetrust · 15/10/2024 18:57

I had a 'friend' come and stay with me during my wedding so she didn't have to book a hotel. She left during the ceremony and went back to her own home (about 5 hours away) and messaged me to say as she'd never seen my house before and it was too big, I didn't deserve to have such a nice house so she'd stolen my hair dryer. Hmm
Sounds ridiculous but is 100% true.

Cocothecoconut · 15/10/2024 18:57

A ladder out of the shed
