Reading this story about a door handle stolen from a cafe made me wonder what the oddest thing someone has stolen from you? I once had some of my homemade CDs stolen from me on a train. Why would you steal someone’s really obvious crappy homemade megamix with their felt-tip handwriting scrawl all over it? I hope it skipped for them on the good songs!

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cdjekzxj4y4o I hope they get their handles back!

Men in CCTV sought after cafe door handle theft

The cafe in Redfield had its door handles stolen hours before opening for the first time.

I used to have a Peugeot 206 (possibly 205, something like that) and the spare wheel was underneath the boot on the outside held on by a rod with a bolt at the end. We got a flat tyre one day and went to get the spare wheel and somebody had cut through the rod part and taken the wheel, I have no idea when. I had to buy a new spare wheel and carry it in the boot, which took up a lot of space in a very small boot.

I work in car insurance and after the pandemic we had claims for bits of cars being stolen. Such as steering wheels

A Pot Noodle went missing from my cupboard. I lived alone, no explanation, very disconcerting.

Not from me exactly, but my photo off the staff board where all staff photos with names were listed.

I was waiting for April Fools day! It never reappeared.

Someone had a crush on you, I reckon.

(As someone who took a certain teacher’s picture off the board at school many, many years ago!).

A tea towel, seriously it was a gift to me from a relative and had sentimental value, the thief (female) actually tried to gaslight me that it was their tea towel

Clean washing from our clothes line, including husbands t shirts and baby clothes.

And a brand new peach hand knitted cardigan, with gold buttons from primary school. ( mine, no uniform )

My student house - an absolutely disgusting plastic pint glass filled to the brim with cigarette butts that had gone soggy/mouldy from rain water.

A garden hose on a cart. Someone entered my garden and stole it. Bastard!

Isobel201 · 15/10/2024 19:31

I had a car theft where they took everything out including the dog guard. They left my work office pass though.

Comtesse · 15/10/2024 19:31

Someone pinched the cable from the kettle during a student house party once. That was pretty weird.

Leeds festival 2002 or maybe 2003, me&my best friend with our partners were eating our picnic, my best friend had a cheese&onion pasty she'd been looking forward to, she took one bite and some bloke just took it out of her hand and laughed, then ate it, we were all shocked then laughed our heads off. We still talk about it now and it still makss us laugh at the pure cheekiness.

thisiswheretheseagullfliesaway · 15/10/2024 19:33

Someone went into our shed and took our clothes pegs in it's tub and a lb of steak pieces from the freezer. Bizarrely they left Prawns, chicken and a roast beef joint. Must have fancied a stew or casserole.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 15/10/2024 19:33

And caught on my street on a door camera. A thief drinking from the bottle of milk delivered at night by the milkman.

username3678 · 15/10/2024 19:34

Someone broke into my house and stole a block of cheese.

Rotary clothes line without the base.

This happened to me too! Who’d have thought there is more than one washing line thief out there. . .

I left a sweeping brush outside once.

Someone unscrewed the pole and left me with just the brush part.

Must've been Trigger!

Tara336 · 15/10/2024 19:35

One of those graze boxes you used to get delivered, I know who did it too!

Freydo · 15/10/2024 19:35

Years ago now but my flat mate’s boyfriend stole dirty knickers (period stains) from the washing basket in the bathroom.

OrNo · 15/10/2024 19:36

My vibrator.

My mate had given me it for a joke. Some acquaintances found out, sweet talked my house mate into letting them in and nicked it. Arseholes. They went through all my personal stuff. If they'd bloody asked for it I would have bloody given them it.

ColdFreezing · 15/10/2024 19:36

Bike lights off my bike as a poor student. It was fancy too, it was fixed into some plastic ball mechanism, and you could raise and lower it and angle it.

My plastic car wheel caps were stolen too from my first car, many years later, someone had gone around several streets and stolen them, except for one. They were cabled tied on by my brother too.

I gave very mean looks to some men selling sets of wheel caps out of a van at a car boot sale. If I’d have seen a set of three Vauxhall ones, I would have had very stern words 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ( I would have through)

IOSTT · 15/10/2024 19:36

A man stole our doorbell a few months ago.

Had a kids tent stolen from our garden.

Cleaners stole toilet rolls from us.

goneaway2 · 15/10/2024 19:36

The bonnet badge from my imported MX5. I was not impressed as it left two holes in the bonnet.

lightsandtunnels · 15/10/2024 19:39

We went on holiday for 2 weeks and arrived home late one night. We noticed the next morning that some thieving CFs had stolen our two beautiful olive trees from either side of my front door. They were in massive pots so we have no idea how they managed to lift them. We never bothered replacing them as it would probably happen again! I was very sad!

Someone broke into my house and stole a block of cheese.

My cat came home with one once. Also a string of raw sausages and a piping hot baked potato. All on separate occasions. If this was you, I'm very sorry! 🤣🤣

dontforgetme · 15/10/2024 19:40

Easter eggs!!

Our car was broken into a couple of years ago. They left everything, even a work laptop I'd left in there by mistake! They took 2 large Easter eggs and chucked the boxes on the path next to our car.
