theres many typhoons and 5 canadian air force planes

Why would they do surveying flights at night? Is there less optical interference if they're doing lidar or something?

Ground penetrating Geo. You don't need light for that. The oil industry use drones 24/7 now rather than research ships. Which is why I suggested the reservoir which has been on the cards for a long time now.

Jesus @hoteltango it pulled up that helipad like it was a bit of old carpet! No longer on Flight Radar so no idea where they went.

For info RAF Valley (“VLY”) has for many many decades been a major RAF pilot training base, it’s always been busy to a greater or lessor extent.
