Why are they so many military flights over Lincolnshire and north sea ?

theres many typhoons and 5 canadian air force planes

All quiet overhead at the moment. Red Arrows display team on the move. Feeling very jealous about the people going on holiday, I wish I was looking out the window of a plane going somewhere nice.

I'm not far from Marham so it does sometimes get noisy but I don't mind tbh. Apart from flight radar I use ADS-B which also monitors flights, you can filter out 'military' aircraft

Not daft at all. Military aircraft British and US sometimes practice 'touch and go' landings at Norwich airport. Aircraft. Sometimes depending on the aircraft including helicopters, and they are able to land, stop to refuel. Norfolk and Suffolk host USAF bases Lakenheath and Mildenhall and RAF Marham

The US Stratotanker is off the coast of North Norfolk, possibly heading off somewhere.

I guess you’re looking at what looks very much like refuelling going on East of the Wash (pair of C-130s with a KC-135)..

Perhaps with the situation in the Middle East deterioration they are preparing for war?

Not necessarily down to the current state of the Middle East.

There is a pre notified exercise going on (or was) and in any event this sort of flying by the RAF and USAF has been going on over the North Sea for decades….of course in the days pre Flight Radar and the other tracking apps/websites the general public didn’t get to see what was going on most nights.

Fairly quiet tonight. Just like to say how amazing so many Mumsnetters are interested in what's going on up there. The only other person I know is my friend's teenage son 😂

The Eurofighter just took off heading towards the Norfolk coastline.
