Who really wants Jenrick to win ?

Guaranteed to finish off the Tories.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/robert-jenrick-echr-conservative-party-mps-purge-b1189044.html

It is always just about possible that if Labour are unpopular in 2029 and Reform implode, the Tory leader could become Prime Minister, even of a minority government.

So given the choice (well it is technically one) between someone whose policies I object to, and someone additionally whose personal conduct (corrupt in my opinion), I will choose the one whose policies are the only objection.

So holding my nose, I'd prefer Kemi Badenoch over Robert Jenrick.

I'd be prepared for a hung parliament in 2029. Demographics and disintegration of the electorate into single issues almost guarantees it.

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/10/2024 16:36

Think Kemi is on about a 6 day standard working week now. Going to have to go and see where I read that.

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/10/2024 16:39

Actually that seems to have been a parody. Although I can imagine her saying it.

PickAChew · 21/10/2024 16:42

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/10/2024 14:43

Can we just move the budget forwards. To tomorrow or something. Feel like that would help make it all go away.

Nah. There will be a fresh onslaught with a whole new raft of increasingly outlandish stories about how badly people are not very impacted at all by the announcements.

Definitely. I wish the site allowed us to mute posters quite frankly - with that silencing continuing if they name change.

ThatbloodyRoblox · 21/10/2024 20:34

Hello everybody. Hope you are all well.
Just to say thank you to all the posters that are fighting fires elsewhere. I have been really struggling with some of the unkindness on other threads so have ducked from them mostly... although I still read and hide 🫣
The absolute state of X today ( I know it was already a state) re the person that died in prison. This is very sad but that doesn't make you a political prisoner no matter how much you twist it - oaks@it and Farage I am looking at you. Own it. You all watched it, your "patriots" out there for you, with absolutely no shits given as to how vulnerable, ignorant and racist some of these people were. Whilst equally ignoring the vulnerability of those targeted.
Don't play the " shocked" game now.
Sorry- feeling poorly today and my tolerance for racist grifters is low! ☹️

PandoraSox · 21/10/2024 20:59

You are absolutely right @ThatbloodyRoblox If certain people in the media hadn't whipped up a storm that man might not have chosen to go out and riot. It is infuriating that they are now playing the "political prisoner" card.

I am surprised there hasn't been a thread on here, unless there was one and it was zapped.

Ignoring certain posters, even when they quote you, is very satisfying!

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/10/2024 21:03

Oakshott is a twat. Small amount of self reflection would be much better than that video she posted this morning.
Although I didn’t manage to get to the end of it. I doubt it got better.

ThatbloodyRoblox · 21/10/2024 21:16

Thank you, lovely people. I honestly thought I was going a bit mad today when reading some of the comments on SM in general re this person.
We need better.

newnamethanks · 21/10/2024 21:19

For those of us who can face it, Hope Not Hate has done an investigation into the ideology and tactics of the modern Far Right. C4 at 10pm.

MaybeNotBob · 21/10/2024 21:24

Would that be this Isabel Oakeshitt?

Thread 9 Starmer : Return to Westminster
RafaistheKingofClay · 21/10/2024 21:30

That’s the one. She’s very keen on protestors being sent to jail, just not rioters.

I see the general public are busy doing what they do best on Streeting’s new NHS consultation website. What did he think would happen if all you had to do was register to post a suggestion 😂

ThatbloodyRoblox · 21/10/2024 21:39

MaybeNotBob · 21/10/2024 21:24

Would that be this Isabel Oakeshitt?

That is the exact same person!
The absolute twisting to get the narrative one wants is beyond ridiculous.
I see "our Tommy, man of the people" is home and I absolutely know that the likes of Oakshitt and co, whilst stepping back and not endorsing him, will be silently cheering with regards the patriots, two tier or whatever the racist march is called next weekend... and then say the people have spoken.

PandoraSox · 21/10/2024 21:55

Has Yaxley-Lennon been arrested?

Explicitly declining to engage in conversation is quite satisfying too. 😁

PandoraSox · 21/10/2024 21:55

Has Yaxley-Lennon been arrested?

I don’t know. But my understanding he’s been in the EU for 82 out of the 90 days he’s allowed and he will be arrested when he lands on U.K. soil.

newnamethanks · 21/10/2024 22:01

🙏 really hope so.

Has Yaxley-Lennon been arrested?

No, he arrived in Luton this morning without being arrested

OP posts:
PandoraSox · 21/10/2024 22:08

Maybe that's a good thing. He was wittering on Twitter about it being the last time he could communicate with his "audience" as he would soon be in jail.

More satisfying still when you touch a nerve Grin

Ignoring them is the best policy though.

SYL must be really disappointed.

I know I am! Why didn't they arrest him?

I suspect if they are going to arrest him, it will be done quietly and not at the airport/public space. To avoid giving that twat any publicity.
