I see the Telegraph is claiming that if Jenrick wins the leadership contest and there were a snap election, Starmer would lose his majority.

That's so funny!

Bout time we had a high profile bisexual in public life , tbh.

We did in the 11th century apparently (William II) and possibly in the 17th (James VI or I), if accounts are historically accurate.

Sexual intercourse did not begin in 1963, misquoting Philip Larkin.

Was it one of the predictable suspects?

Yep.

The Torygraph really has totally lost the plot!

The Torygraph really has totally lost the plot!

Yep, for years it always had some really good journalism, even if its politics weren't to my taste, but in the past 6 months it's gone all tin foil hat and weird.

ilovesooty · 17/10/2024 00:41

PandoraSox · 16/10/2024 22:52

Yep.

I'm rather glad I didn't see any of it.

HS2 to run from London Euston to Crewe

LBC understands govt was planning announcement in the new year - reversing Rishi Sunak's cut to 'phase 2a'

Private talks said to have taken place involving Keir Starmer at last month's Labour Conference

According to sources close to the project, Ministers have re-evaluated the cost-benefit of HS2 and concluded the line should continue beyond Birmingham

LBC understands Keir Starmer is preparing to reverse the change to 'Phase 2a', as the route already has parliamentary approval

Hmmm. I’m quite anti HS2 at all points. Unnecessary, expensive, bad for the environment, unfairly charged to Wales…
I’d rather he cancelled the whole sorry thing to be honest.

And if your granny had wheels, she'd be a bike.🤪🤪🤪

RafaistheKingofClay · 17/10/2024 14:53

This was inevitable. The bit beyond Birmingham was absolutely necessary. It was always going to have to be done at some point and the longer we take the more expensive it gets. Anywhere else but the U.K. would have just built the thing now at considerably less cost than we’ve paid for it.
The only thing Rishi has done is make the bloody thing more expensive.

This thread has made me laugh though.

Listen, if Taylor Swift suddenly gets awarded a contract to provide healthcare services to the NHS, is given part of the HS2 line to run or gets given a life peerage like Lord Siberia or whatever he’s called, then let’s chat about Starmer taking his kids to her concert shall we.

Full marks to whoever suggested SwiftRail would be a great name.

RafaistheKingofClay · 17/10/2024 15:21

The DEC finally appears to be launching a Middle East appeal for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Tr first £10m will be matched by the government. You would think that even the worst Tories wouldn’t spin this. I’m not holding my breath.

I bet that bastard Keir Starmer was responsible for jailing her just for posting on the internet.

Oh FFS what is this MSM obsession with Taylor Swift tickets

It's to get their stories top of the pile. Trying to game Google.

If you can crowbar a popular search term into your "story" then you can bump it up the natural Google results* to be seen by more people.

It's just more proof that if you are spending real money on "AI", then it's being wasted.

*Google would deny this can happen.

I should bloody think so.

Cue freedom of speech froth.

Good. She didn't just post that one vile thing. Hopefully this has sent out a message to all those think posting hatred is free speech.

RafaistheKingofClay · 17/10/2024 15:58

I’m quite happy with people who encourage other people to burn buildings down while people are inside to get a jail sentence. That seems like the sort of thing that should be a crime you should go to jail for.

Agreed. But wait for the wailing about freedom of speech.

Evenstar · 17/10/2024 16:08

Chope is a disgrace, he voted against upskirting legislation and FGM legislation and defended Owen Paterson voting against the Standards Committee. Even a member of the Government called him a Jurassic embarrassment and said he should resign 😡

Notonthestairs · 17/10/2024 16:12

Liked this.

"Just giving my new friends @johnredwood and @JacobReesMogg a little lesson on the economy.

Must not let the authority gap get in the way."

Where would we be now if we hadn't wasted that time and money on Brexit.

Anyone posted this? It's like the antithesis of the 'she has no children' comment!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c62dke21y24o

Oh for Gods sakes.

The man is a filibustering moron.

Jenrick and Badenoch both have 3 kids under the age of 12/13.
