She victimised herself. Between maternity pay and bottom wipers her contempt for women is writ large.

Of course. But rather a lot of the Kemi worshippers won't see that.

Because I enjoy it that way and those are accounts I follow.

I am not rightwing or a Tory voter. Once the leadership contest is over, I will take it more seriously.

No wonder you remain in your wee bubble. I'm centre right and watched all the Labour party conference speeches live and from the horses's mouths

Good for you. That's your choice. Now do you have anything pertinent about the candidates for the leadership you'd like to contribute?

I really don't care that much about any of them. Plus I can post exactly what I like within talk guidelines.

Nah, I don't live in a wee bubble.

Of course you can! Nobody has said otherwise

I didn't say you couldn't. I just asked if there was anything you'd like to contribute given that you have the time to watch such extensive coverage. If you choose not to contribute further that's your choice of course. 🙄

Willowkins · 02/10/2024 13:14

I watched the US VP debate last night. Walz came across as a normal, smart, caring human being.
Surprisingly, so did Vance.

On that thread duncin linked, Ian Dunt says: "Badenoch reminds me quite a bit of Jeremy Corbyn. People seem to get very excited about her. But then you see her do a speech and you're like: Really? Is that it?"
I thought it was a good point

Notonthestairs · 02/10/2024 13:28

Early days. But a bit more positive. Migrant channel crossings lowest since 2020.

PandoraSox · 02/10/2024 13:29

I wonder if Badenoch realises that some of the Tory party membership will a)have /be looking after relatives (or clients) who need help with intimate care; or b)be close to possibly needing it themselves; or c) be already needing it.

She has fully cooked her goose with the contempt she has shown. It was already partially cooked anyway.

Who do you want to win @derxa ?

Not the sort of Tories she likes.

If the weather over the channel is anywhere near as grim as here, that's easily explained.

True, but 53% are over 60.

You think Glastonbury 2025 will have a set where thousands chant

"Kemi ! Kemi Badenoch ! Oh Kemi !"

and how come everyone has resisted the urge to type "Kemi Badenough" these past few weeks.

Except me 😀

(I once worked with a chap who basked in the gloriously amusing surname 'Goodenough' ...)

But this whole conference has see a parade of losers trying to appeal to a herd of unicorns.

The unelectable in pursuit of the non existent.

Maybe last night of the proms, just before Rule Britannia 😂

None of them set the heather on fire. I think JC will be able to inject some enthusiasm into the party. He seems quite Tiggerish. Jenrick and Tugendhat give me the ick. I admire KB's stance on trans - a man cannot become a woman and a woman cannot become a man. I always try to imagine what politicians from the past would make of it. Harold Wilson for example.

Spandauer · 02/10/2024 14:00

Conservative word clouds. Agreement here it seems.

Re Ian Hislop. It looks like there was no evidence of a fire arms discharge - thank goodness.

This could explain Badenoch's approach

https://x.com/WritesBright/status/1841460284390621444?t=FaOTMUVFvTbkRGu8q6tgDQ&s=19

Kemi Badenoch is running her leadership campaign from the home of wealthy Tory donor Neil Record.

Neil Record is the chair of the climate science denial group Net Zero Watch.

He's also the life vice president of the Institute of Economic Affairs, closely linked to Liz Truss.
