Thanks for new threads

PandoraSox · 20/09/2024 08:22

Thanks for the new thread.

I almost deleted my membership last night. There is a disgusting thread running about disability benefits. So much hate for disabled people.

Hide it! Go and make yourself a nice cup of tea

It's truly disgusting - hopefully some kind of bunfight will break out and MNHQ will have to delete it

I know I should hide it. But I can't help going on there to challenge the crap that is posted. I know it is a waste of time, though!

I understand it's hard not to try and correct all the glaring inaccuracies and hateful diatribes but as i said on the thread MNHQ want the 'engagement' and won't back you up - so please don't do it to yourself
Not telling you off just concerned

Good news, hope it is effectively organized to alter the current lack of support for women reporting domestic abuse.

Jess Phillips is talking about it this morning but it seems like football tickets are more important to the interviewers

I just sent MNHQ a bit of a (polite) rant via the report button. But I think I managed to cut myself off mid rant. They will think I am unhinged!🤣 I will drop it now, not good for my sanity.

Alexandra2001 · 20/09/2024 09:48

DuncinToffee · 19/09/2024 22:49

they are all the same, Starmer is just a Tory with a red tie"

Seems to be the narrative that the media is trying to portray

The whole culture in Westminster regarding donations and gifts need to change

Well imho Starmer should have been aware of this, he has given them exactly what they all wanted.

Its now going to dominate the next few months, perhaps define his Govt especially should the budget increase taxes for ordinary people.

Consumer confidence has fallen off a cliff, partly down to a narrative that Labour are going to cost you a lot of money, which is true but the positivity of change isn't coming across, again due to ministers tying themselves in knots having to defend "gifts"

I think the media has succeeded in this narrative, i know many Labour supporters, without exception very pissed off with all of this, folk who worked extremely hard to give SE Cornwall its first Labour MP ever.

It is as one commentator said this morning "an own goal"

DuncinToffee · 20/09/2024 09:51

I think we all agree with the own goal comment but the way the media has pounced on it is quite remarkable.

Very naive of Labour

Just hide the thread, you are getting goaded into posting.

Agree the media have been very successful & it’s very much an own goal especially as the rhetoric previously was all about Labour serving the electorate & not being on the take unlike the previous bunch of grifters must admit I’m really pissed off & another one who worked bloody hard during the election campaign.

Totally agree with this
It's all about clicks

BustingBaoBun · 20/09/2024 10:02

Thank you for the great cat tax pics! There's some seriously good looking cats on here along with lovely other pics!

Here is my cat tax. Haunting my desk today.

I don’t really care much about events and Ministers going. That all seems normal. But I did then read that Keir Starmer doesn’t even pay for his own glasses. For some reason this seemed too ridiculous. It seemed extremely cheap if true.

Thread 8 Starmer : Cat fur on new clothes
Efacsen · 20/09/2024 10:27

@bombastix 'designer' glasses apparently cost over £2500 [!!]

Don't even like them

It is completely absurd

bombastix · 20/09/2024 10:30

Man’s a fool. Former Labour PM’s were very careful on public image. Even if they liked cognac and cigars, they did beer, pipes and sandwiches. They had NHS glasses.

Its all about the optics isn't it?
