I suspect they had it before Starmer had her resignation letter. I wonder if she’ll be on LK’s show tomorrow.

derxa · 28/09/2024 21:23

Well done Rosie

Well done Rosie

For what? Defrauding 19,500 Canterbury voters out of their vote? Lacking the honesty to vote against removing the two child benefit cap and means testing WFA? Complaining about the treatment of Diane Abbott only after her reinstatement to the party?

She stands up for women

BustingBaoBun · 28/09/2024 21:44

I'd be seriously fucked off if I'd voted for her, only for her to resign a couple of months in. She had no intention of representing the party the people voted for.
Well done Rosie my arse. She will be joining the Tory party just like that, very traitorous

BustingBaoBun · 28/09/2024 21:45

I wouldn't want someone like her standing up for me.

BIossomtoes · 28/09/2024 21:46

derxa · 28/09/2024 21:44

She stands up for women

Does she? How exactly does this benefit all the women who voted for her because they want a Labour MP?

CassieMaddox · 28/09/2024 21:56

derxa · 28/09/2024 21:44

She stands up for women

Yeah 😴
Why stand for Labour when you disagree? She's a coward to wait till she was elected before resigning

pointythings · 28/09/2024 22:00

She's a duplicitous coward who lacks the courage of her convictions. If she had the guts, she'd stand down and go as an independent in a byelection - but she's too chicken.

ilovesooty · 28/09/2024 22:27

BIossomtoes · 28/09/2024 17:51

I’m surprised it took her so long. It was a mystery to me for a long time why she stayed in a party that she claimed treated her so badly.

Why on earth didn't she resign from the party before the election and fight it as an Independent? She hasn't just developed issues with the party she was happy enough to stand for a few weeks ago.

BIossomtoes · 28/09/2024 22:39

The Tories should do a straight swap for Baroness Warsi.

ThatbloodyRoblox · 28/09/2024 23:04

I think Rosie should have had to be interviewed with the late and great mrs Merton
Mrs M: " So Rosie, what was it that attracted to you to stand for a party whose leader and policies you despise instead of going it alone? "
R: " I couldn't bear the man, his principles and hypocrisy and avarice any longer.
Mrs M: Did you think about this before standing on that ticket.
R: yes but needed my wages and a jobs a job. Just need to get in and get out and sit there all Indy like.

Willowkins · 28/09/2024 23:44

I'm home from hospital. A bit sore but surviving.

Blanket is not at all well. She's eating better and not being sick but she's lost more weight and bit of her sparkle while I was away. I need to phone the O-O-H vet tomorrow.

I'm not at all up to date on politics. Could someone give me the main points?

I've no time for MPs who get elected then leave the Party they stood for - whichever party they're in.

BIossomtoes · 29/09/2024 00:39

Just had a conversation with my bloke about this and it’s making a bit more sense now. He said “They’re really fucked if their own MPs are walking out on them so soon”. Does she believe revenge is a dish best eaten cold? Because that’s what it’s looking like from where I’m sitting.

It was absolutely done in as a mic drop. She was always going to "leave" ... just not her job Wink

SerendipityJane · 28/09/2024 18:27

She was more than happy to take labour money to get elected.

Exactly & she would have known about Starmers gifts as they were all registered, long ago.

Agree. She never liked Starmer before stood and knew about the 2 child cap.

She's entitled to both opinions but to stand on an election by them and then quit because of them is cowardess.

BIossomtoes · 29/09/2024 08:31

I don’t think it’s cowardice, it’s calculated sabotage. I bet she’s been planning this for years. The “reasons” in the resignation letter are the giveaway.

Piggywaspushed · 29/09/2024 08:35

I mean her letter makes her sound pretty left of party. I'm not convinced.

newnamethanks · 29/09/2024 08:37

Badenoch up first on Sky News. Trevor Phillips "KB what would you say to Netanyahu?" Reply "I'd congratulate him".

newnamethanks · 29/09/2024 08:53

Ah, they're all up. Cleverley now, followed by Nasty Bob then Tom T.

VimtoVimto · 29/09/2024 09:21

I think Jess Phillips stands up for women more than Rosie Duffield yet I’m still to see certain people lauding her efforts. I’ve a feeling that RD is going to be welcomed to the Tory Party in the next week. If that’s the case I hope her constituents call for a by election.

BIossomtoes · 29/09/2024 09:28

I really hope her constituents call for a by election.

I’d agree if it was anyone but Duffield. Probably inevitable that she would walk at some point.
