Oasis tickets

Helplessandheartbroke · 30/08/2024 23:56

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

Yes, I tried again when I woke in the early hours and managed to get a seat in my basket again - at the back of the upper tier, so not a great seat - and this time it came up as ‘£488’ due to dynamic pricing. I’d be happy with one ticket for myself as I live close to the venue and I’m the main fan in the household but I’m not paying that when I know that it should be £100 or less.

No doubt as long as they make it clear it's "dynamic" it's allowed 🙄 Still seems like a form of hard selling when somebody was clueless about any price changes and had been stuck in a queue for a whole day.

Interestingly, during the Take That reunion tour, it sold out but closer to the time of the shows they started to release a few really good seats, mainly front rows. It was said they were returns from the production company, so not sure if they had tickets reserved for them which they didn't want to use. They were face value, despite the fact they could have resold them for ridiculous prices.

I’ve found this with shows in the past. The page for oasis tickets itself says that more tickets may be released, which is why I keep checking.

Though it now thinks I’m a bot 🙄 I’m not given an option to do a recaptcha thing, I’m using an account where I have a history of buying tickets with them, and I’m only using one device, so I’m not sure why it thinks that.

Have you tried using your mobile data as somebody else suggested? I'm guessing any extra tickets that are released now, bar new dates, will be these stupid inflated prices. Honestly I'd be 100% OK with missing out if paying that was my only choice. I'd actually sooner pay a normal tout the extra than the actual people that demand tickets should only be sold for face value.

For those that have been accused of being bots, we had this a few times and it booted out but then we went back in and it disappeared. There is clearly a glitch with it.

Ticketmaster may still be in the wrong even if they have something in the small print.

The airline industry had to make changes because hidden extras were not clear to consumers.

Ticketmaster definitely only had the standing prices at a fixed price before sales started and once they commenced people in the queue didn't know about the price change until checkout. Thus they had been misled and then were in a situation with a timer to make a high pressure decision.

Yes I’ve just gone back on and it must have been a glitch as it’s back to normal. It was on a WIFI only device.

Is there still a queue 😂

CaveMum · 01/09/2024 09:08

We encountered surge pricing when at DisneyWorld earlier this year. Their Genie+ service (which allowed you to prebook time slots on the most popular rides) can vary between $15 and $40 per day, per person depending on demand. When you consider how expensive Disney is already it’s a total rip-off. We refused to buy it and instead “rope dropped” the most popular rides (if staying in a Disney hotel you can get into the parks 30 mins before guests staying in non-Disney hotels and have a bit of a mad dash to get to the front of the queue for your chosen rides!) which meant when the park opened to main guests we’d already done the “big” rides and could go on the less popular rides with shorter queues.

greengreyblue · 01/09/2024 09:28

Just had a look, was 15 in the queue. Said VIp package available at Wembley but when you click on it nothing happens.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/09/2024 09:32

I've been let back into my Ticketmaster account. Too fucking late now like.

greengreyblue · 01/09/2024 09:41

I’ve just got two tickets for £15 each!

NOASIS tribute band, they’re lush. 🤣

TokyoSushi · 01/09/2024 09:47

Have also been 'unbotted' this morning, but just says no tickets available

CellophaneFlower · 01/09/2024 09:48

greengreyblue · 01/09/2024 09:42

Don't publicise them! They'll be surge pricing in no time! 30 quid a ticket 😱😂

greengreyblue · 01/09/2024 09:49

Lol

Baxdream · 01/09/2024 09:54

I was on 4g when I got to the end of the queue and it went through and managed to buy tickets.
I did get the in demand tickets but we had already said we would get premium tickets anyway so expected a higher cost, just didn't end up with the benefits!
We have seen oasis a few times in the 90s/00s so this feels massive to us so we're willing to pay.

I absolutely think it's cheeky though!

What kind of guarantee is there that Liam and Noel won't fall out before the tour starts and it won't end up being just one of them with some other band members?

Every joker on the internet has said this but I'm pretty sure you can't book out Wembley stadium without signing comprehensive legal contracts. Insurance will cover eg a broken leg but not 'suddenly realised my brother's a twat'.

The tickets are ridiculously priced to cover the cost of insurance in case they fall out!

Eldrick47s · 01/09/2024 12:20

Think they will fall out at some stage. They did so throughout the time when the band was active. They honoured the gigs then just as they will now. Noel just got fed up with Liam so they stopped (I think Noel is the bigger twat though lol).

The Edinburgh dates are right at the start of the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. Hotel prices are already scarce at a premium. Loads of people were getting their hotels and AirB&Bs cancelled just before the Taylor Swift concert so they could re-sale at inflated prices. Have a look now for accommodation and be very aware it could be precarious. There is reasonable transport links - trains stop running sometime after 11pm - but night buses run later, including the airport buses which run all night so there is a chance of getting hotels further out of the city to work.

Came on to say just this. Worst possible timing for a gig like this in Edinburgh - it'll be chaos!

They did once cancel 6 American gigs in a row. First 2, no reason given. Following 3, noel walked. The last 1, in respect of the 6 Pearl Jam fans that died (not because of noel walking) 🤔🤔

i know people ont want to hear this but they really werent that goo 25 years ago i remember thinking i was bored no interation with crowds just a phone in perofrmance

CellophaneFlower · 01/09/2024 12:42

I discovered this whilst trying to work out which gig was on iplayer, as it most certainly wasn't Wembley arena 2008 as advertised (it was Wembley stadium 2000 😂 )
