Oasis tickets

1000 replies

Helplessandheartbroke · 30/08/2024 23:56

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

I think (hope) they'll add more dates

Aquarius1234 · 31/08/2024 19:14

I think that wasted everyone's time for the last few hours.
Something dodgy with the site for hours.

Doseofreality · 31/08/2024 19:18

“And so you all can wait, you joined the queue to late and the tickets have passed you by. It’s so sad but no hate. Don’t look back in anger, they’ll split after the first day”

Yeah, there seems to be a few gaps in places. There looks to be two dates together and then a break before another two dates. Wembley for instance there’s the 25/7, 26/7, then the 30th before coming back on the 2/8 and 3/8. I’d expect maybe the 29th to be added.

sparklybead · 31/08/2024 19:59

Odd seats keep coming up for me so if you’re happy to pay £400+ for a seat high up then you might be in luck. I’ve managed to get them in my basket a couple of times in the past hour - I can’t see the price until they’re in my basket as you have to be very quick.

I finally got in to buy (after 6 hours of queuing) but I'm not supporting Ticketmaster's gross legitimate touting. How can they justify selling them at £358 each when the face value was meant to be £154.

It's disgusting.

Completely agree.

Did anyone manage to get the cheap £70 tickets?

Yes, I managed to 4 for murrayfield.

I am wanting to buy GA tickets for one of Heaton Park dates, I got through about half an hour ago for the 11th July date but no standard GA tickets available, when I clicked on 'alternative dates' I got thrown out and now back in the queue again

Has anyone got through recently for any of the Heaton Park dates where it is showing GA (£148) tickets still available??

Would be useful to know which date will be my best shot at getting tickets

Wednesday night will have the lowest demand but my suspicion is that people who got wednesday tix will actually be more likely to go. The Saturday nights will be highest demand but also the most pron to people selling extras.

I read this but still don't understand how they get past the Captcha thingies designed to weed out bots...

ElleWoods15 · 31/08/2024 22:52

Was it using those Captcha things though? Because I’d have been happy enough to prove I could identify bridges or motorcycles or a random series of numbers/letters, but Ticketmaster just decided I was a bot and kicked me out without an opportunity….

youheard · 31/08/2024 22:55

I got 4 in the presale yay, trouble is 5 want to go. So a friend and i tried again today. No joy for me because of tech issues. Friend eventually got through after 5 hours, saw inflated prices and panicked and bought. So now were
deciding if we keep all tix and share out with friends but honestly I am so angry with Oasis for allowing surge prices I wouldn’t care if she now put them on Viagogo and made £5 profit. When the band are ripping off fans who are already paying loads so blatantly it leaves a very sour taste. Not excited as I was yesterday

Yeah, I did - seat at right at the back of the stadium, but that was what I wanted anyway. There was a glitch about 3pm whilst I was trying to select tickets - they were all about £300-500 but could not get to the payment page. Got kicked out and couldn't get back in the queue. About 4pm I just decided to have another go and see what was left - after a few refreshes I got straight back in. Straight to the front of the queue and right into the booking page. There were loads of odd seats that were disappearing fast so I grabbed one quick and it went straight to payment page. £80 all in for ticket, insurance and commemorative paper ticket. The same seating area that was going for £200 more before the glitch. Must have got back in at the right time and just before surge pricing kicked back in again. I was well lucky. I live just outside Edinburgh and have family and friends within walking distance of the stadium so no extra expenses for me either.

MadisonAvenue · 31/08/2024 18:06

Three of us were trying for four tickets and we were happy to travel, I eventually got through mid afternoon for one of the Edinburgh dates but by then dynamic pricing had come into play and three out of the four of us weren’t prepared to pay that. Add in travel from the Midlands and we’d need an overnight stay too, it’d be ridiculous.
Only my younger son was happy to pay that (he hasn’t really got any financial commitments) so I eventually managed to get two standing tickets for him and his best mate. £728.95 once all of the fees were added on. Daylight robbery.

The Edinburgh dates are right at the start of the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. Hotel prices are already scarce at a premium. Loads of people were getting their hotels and AirB&Bs cancelled just before the Taylor Swift concert so they could re-sale at inflated prices. Have a look now for accommodation and be very aware it could be precarious. There is reasonable transport links - trains stop running sometime after 11pm - but night buses run later, including the airport buses which run all night so there is a chance of getting hotels further out of the city to work.

I've submitted a complaint to the ASA about the 'in-demand' pricing on standing tickets at Wembley. If enough people complain maybe something will be done about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think some people said the seats were affected too. 400 for up in the gods, when they definitely weren't that much originally.

MuchasSmoochas · 01/09/2024 00:16

Still can’t get on Ticketmaster as they think I’m a bot. I know it’s game over, but I got this message since 3pm. I am logged in and have tickets for 3 other events, what kind of bot does this.

Just as an experiment I came off WiFi and used my phone as a hot spot. Having thrown me off as a bot on WiFi it let me in on the phone data.

I think it's assigned bot status on the basis of WiFi IP addresses

OonaStubbs · 01/09/2024 01:41

What kind of guarantee is there that Liam and Noel won't fall out before the tour starts and it won't end up being just one of them with some other band members?

TokyoSushi · 01/09/2024 06:41

That's an excellent summing up @RedToothBrush I've been to a rough, wet, Heaton Park, and it ain't pretty!

Wembley for us this time, to see if we can do it a bit more 'naicely' - I'm not 23 any more!

It's actually trading standards that's is responsible I think here. I note the following:

High pressure sales tactics can be illegal if they are deceptive or manipulative, or if they put unfair pressure on consumers. Some examples of illegal high pressure sales tactics include:

False or misleading claims: Making false or exaggerated claims about a product's benefits can be considered fraud.

Unreasonable promises: Making unreasonable promises to customers can be considered illegal.

Countdown clocks: Using countdown clocks to indicate when a sale or special deal will end can be illegal if the sale continues beyond the advertised end point.

Intimidation or exploitation: Using threatening or abusive language, or refusing to leave a customer until they make a purchase can be considered illegal.

Scare tactics: Using scare tactics to pressure consumers into making a purchase can be considered illegal.

Constant contact: Pestering customers to make a purchase can be considered illegal.

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 prohibit aggressive commercial practices. Breaches of these regulations can result in a fine of up to £5,000 in the magistrates court, or a fine or imprisonment for up to two years in the
crown court.

BBC this morning:

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) told the BBC it could not pass comment on Ticketmaster's pricing in this instance.

“We encourage anyone with concerns to get in touch with us and we’d carefully assess whether there were any grounds for action,” an ASA spokesperson said.

But they added: “Our rules (the Advertising Codes) are clear – quoted prices must not mislead.”

I'm guessing there must be some kind of small print on the websites mentioning the chance of surge pricing? I have never heard of it before but haven't bought tickets for a few years prior to this.

Yes, I tried again when I woke in the early hours and managed to get a seat in my basket again - at the back of the upper tier, so not a great seat - and this time it came up as ‘£488’ due to dynamic pricing. I’d be happy with one ticket for myself as I live close to the venue and I’m the main fan in the household but I’m not paying that when I know that it should be £100 or less.

CellophaneFlower · 01/09/2024 08:03

Interestingly, during the Take That reunion tour, it sold out but closer to the time of the shows they started to release a few really good seats, mainly front rows. It was said they were returns from the production company, so not sure if they had tickets reserved for them which they didn't want to use. They were face value, despite the fact they could have resold them for ridiculous prices.
