Oasis tickets

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

You are the only person I have heard of ( out of around 60 ) to not have got presale tickets…..you must have been very unlucky

6 of us trying for tickets … none of us got a pre sale code!

We will all be trying at 9am. I was an oasis fan from the mid nineties and saw some amazing gigs back then. Even knebwoeth was only £22.50
i’d love to go for the memories but it’s gonna be a shit show scramble!

I know loads of people who didn't get a code. Including my university fiat mate who trailed around after them when we were at university and my friend's husband who has a massive (awful) tattoo of Liam on his back.

All you needed to have been guaranteed a code was to have signed up for their mailing list. Much less painful.

@NeverTalksToStrangers2

It was a lottery, not everyone got one. I've been on their mailing list since email came in!

I got a pre sale code and it was pretty painless really, I could’ve bought tickets for a couple of nights in the end.

The queuing system on the website was great, but if you don’t manage to get any ignore the ridiculous likes of viagogo and keep an eye on Twickets for face value tickets being sold nearer the time.

I don't know anything about it really but wasn't it called a 'pre-sale ballot'.

Musiclover234 · 31/08/2024 07:10

The pages are already ‘busy’ urgh

Thestrawthatbrokeme · 31/08/2024 07:11

Currently waiting to see if I can get Dublin tickets in 50 minutes. I never have any luck buying tickets so not very hopeful

FunkyMonks · 31/08/2024 07:16

I'm going to try for a ticket this morning if I'm lucky happy days if I'm not then so be it I'm not paying over the odds to see them also I'm all reality closer to the gigs people are likely to be selling tickets off again and face value or less always happens twickets is another site people ought to download it's a legal re selling ticket website and you can only sell at face value or less just worth keeping an eye out on that site as well as ticketmaster if no one is fortunate this morning to get tickets.

It was and it wasn't. Not everyone got the same confirmation email. Some people got one saying they would definitely get a presale code as they were verified fans or something. I don't even want tickets but I'm telling the truth. I'll find pics.

I'm going to try for Wembley or maybe Cardiff. My main concern is what to do about hotels. We'll be travelling by train and a Premier Inn near the stadiums for the night is about £300+!

NeverTalksToStrangers2 · 31/08/2024 07:31

It almost looks like a phishing scam here but the girl I know got a code and tickets yesterday ok. She's only 26 too so not a fan for long.

That was for the pre sale, but you still needed to registered for the pre sale to be sent a code to access it.

Just logged on Ticketmaster absolutely fine but the gigs and tours page has already crashed and there is still an hour to go 🙈

Probably because the Irish tickets are about to go on sale

tricerotopsrule · 31/08/2024 08:02

Trying to join a waiting room in Ticketmaster but I can't see one?! Anyone know??

Same as usual for me.. online early, in the lobby at 7.45 when it opened. 8am sales start and there's 80000 in the queue ahead of me.

mitogoshi · 31/08/2024 08:05

I'm already logged in, seems to be running fine but time will tell.

Unless you are in driving distance of Cardiff I would avoid, hotel rooms are booked up for the whole city or are 6 x the normal price. Thankfully I'm only 45 minutes awaySmile

How did you know the lobby had opened? Did it refresh automatically? I've got it up now with all the dates but no option to join a waiting room as yet.

mitogoshi · 31/08/2024 08:08

The sites are used to this sort of demand too, I suspect it's lower than Taylor Swift as they are obsessed (and I still got those tickets at face value)

Mine is for Dublin tickets which went on sale at 8.

The page didn't auto refresh, I had to refresh after the countdown got to 15 mins to go, then it took me to the lobby.

thaisweetchill · 31/08/2024 00:55

Why? I understand the sellers of the tickets being cancelled but assuming people buying overinflated prices are just wanting to see the show, no?

Because it’s the only way to stop this practice.

Make it clear that the tickets will be cancelled, and you kill the market, which in turn stops people buying up tickets for resale, and means more fans are likely to get tickets from the official sites.

Oh I'm not seeing a countdown! Maybe I'm in the wrong place! Argh!

Rattysparklebum · 31/08/2024 08:17

@Timeforaglassofwine, I went to see Springsteen at Cardiff recently, we booked a hotel in Bridgend, 20 minutes on the train.

After the concert the organisation at the rail station was impressive, barriers guided you straight onto the platform depending on your destination, where the train was waiting, we were out of the concert and on the train in less than 10 minutes.

Nextdoor55 · 31/08/2024 08:18

You want to see them in Cardiff 1st gig, because you want to catch them before they have an argument & split up again 😂
