Oasis tickets

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

My son and his friend went on ticketmaster at 9.10 and got tickets straightaway (standing £150 for Wembley). No long queues, just straight in. I assumed that the concerts turned out to be less popular than expected until I saw this thread!

I got on at 9:25 and there was a queue of 169000 people ahead of me!!

RedToothBrush · 31/08/2024 18:09

There is a map in that article of Ticketmaster outages

It looks like there were significant outages in certain places (notably Manchester) so people living in those places would have been disadvantaged.

Did anyone manage to get the cheap £70 tickets?

Aquarius1234 · 31/08/2024 18:17

It's the most frustrating thing seeing it go grey immediately after seeing patches of blue!!!

thebigmove21 · 31/08/2024 18:18

It is ridiculous and even if I do get some tickets in my selection it then says unable to reserve them. What is the point really??

Btw this idea about extra dates at croke park contradicts other rumours suggesting the following

24/25 Aug Toronto
27/28 Aug Chicago
30/31 Aug New York
2 Sept Boston
5/6 Sept Los Angeles

It'll be interesting to see what comes of the Dublin rumour. I am not convinced.

Pedallleur · 31/08/2024 18:19

The cynic in me thinks the outages are engineered to hike prices etc. No problem for Viagogo to get them. Is that not part of Ticketmaster? Just checked, owned by Stubhub

FFSWherearemyglasses · 31/08/2024 18:19

Waited to be let into the site for 4.5hrs then a further 3.5 hrs in the queue 335,000!
Eventually got the stadium map up but the seats were disappearing before my eyes …… then I got blocked for being a bot 🤦🏼‍♀️ …. It’s gin o’clock 🤪🔫💨

Yeah I got that about half a dozen times too. They need to make it so that if one person has put seats in their basket, then they show red on the site so no one else can select them at the same time.

SellFridges · 31/08/2024 18:26

I got in just after 10. I was 6000th in the queue apparently. It did briefly boot me out when I got to the front but I refreshed and it worked. Got stung by the dynamic pricing but that price was our max budget and we’d rather pay it for standing than seats. It will be DD’s first standing gig (except festivals and local stuff where age isn’t an issue) and she’ll be the same age I was when Definitely Maybe came out. I’m feeling very grateful and this is exactly what I want to be spending my hard earned spare money on.

CandyLeBonBon · 31/08/2024 17:57

The same thing happened for me. If you constantly re fresh tickets do appear but then they disappear before you can select them. I refreshed and tried so many times that it then kicked me out for being a bot. What a dreadful system :-(

Same here! Kept selecting seats and pressing purchase, only to be told those seats are no longer available and then the 'redirecting you to checkout' page just hung with the spinning circle, for about 20 minutes and then I just got chucked out and couldn't log back in! Ffs

Same. Spent much of the day in a queue for the queue, got to the end then had a network error. Queued again, eventually found seats but they disappeared before my eyes, then got thrown out and had to queue again. Then got the circle of doom and more network errors. Have given up.

I would happily go back to the old days of being able to go to a ticket office to get tickets - it’s how I got tickets to see them almost 20 years ago. There were no queues when I went; tickets were spread out between various stores that had different batches of tickets. And tickets had the price on them, so no ‘dynamic pricing’ 🙄 Technology is great when it works, but when it doesn’t…

Three of us were trying for four tickets and we were happy to travel, I eventually got through mid afternoon for one of the Edinburgh dates but by then dynamic pricing had come into play and three out of the four of us weren’t prepared to pay that. Add in travel from the Midlands and we’d need an overnight stay too, it’d be ridiculous.
Only my younger son was happy to pay that (he hasn’t really got any financial commitments) so I eventually managed to get two standing tickets for him and his best mate. £728.95 once all of the fees were added on. Daylight robbery.

Bloody hell! Is that for Murrayfield?
Whatever happened today I had a ceiling price of £150. In the end I was kicked out more then once so didn't get near checkout but I'm kind of glad as I would have been more annoyed getting to that point then only being faced with outrageously priced tickets.
It was my teen that really wanted to go but he accepted our chances were pretty slim!

Just tried again and managed to select 1 seat and add it to my basket…£491 for one seat in the upper tier! I didn’t buy it!

Popcorntv · 31/08/2024 18:39

DH has been offered a reasonably priced ticket by a mate. Thank god. We can now get on with life 🙃

They were in Sweden just about to fly home, perhaps being abroad helped! None of their friends back home managed to get any though.

I am wanting to buy GA tickets for one of Heaton Park dates, I got through about half an hour ago for the 11th July date but no standard GA tickets available, when I clicked on 'alternative dates' I got thrown out and now back in the queue again

Has anyone got through recently for any of the Heaton Park dates where it is showing GA (£148) tickets still available??

Would be useful to know which date will be my best shot at getting tickets

The dynamic pricing was operating from 9am. You could only get the cheap seats ( so far away you need binoculars) up in the gods at the lower prices. As soon as they realised that 1.9million people were trying to log on and join the queue all good intentions went out of the window.
I bought at 10.30 ish and dynamic pricing was definitely going on. I paid a lot for tickets, but within the budget I had set. They are very good tickets. I could pay off my mortgage if I sold them on viagogo but DS would never forgive me.

Yes, Murrayfield.
Seats were popping up and disappearing quickly and by that time they were priced from £305 to £495 for just basic seating, not VIP or anything special.

I got Murrayfield standing tickets for £150, around 9.20am.

Yes, I know people who paid what was originally face value during the morning too.

Aquarius1234 · 31/08/2024 17:38

Would you pay £ 500 + for Oasis?
I think the point is it's not worth paying way over the odds for anything.

Same with west end theatre prices. £ 300 for a 3 star Romeo and Juliet.. no thanks.

Nah I wouldn't pay that for anyone.

I think I got lucky in the queue position to be honest. I was quite shocked!

I got through on Ticketmaster about 2 hours ago and the only available tickets at Heaton Park were the VIP ones (the least popular dates seemed to be the 19 and 20th) no GA ones left at all. An hour later got though on Gigs and Tours and nothing left for Manchester at all. See tickets is still whirring.

siabm · 31/08/2024 19:08

Oasis have just posted to say that all tickets have sold out so anyone still queuing can leave the queue.
