Oasis tickets

Helplessandheartbroke · 30/08/2024 23:56

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

Actual bots. Or people who buy 4 when they only want 1 or 2. Or people who have tried in a group of say 6 people to get 4 tickets and all 6 got tickets meaning they have 20 spares.

We paid £115 (face value) for floor tix for Taylor Swift this summer and it was beyond brilliant. A full on show. Would do it again.

Not paying considerably more to stand or for piss poor seats to see Oasis.

Just a money grab and disgusting prices.

I don't understand how, if tickets are limited to 4 per person, the resellers are able to bypass the system and buy hundreds?

Got in from the waiting room shortly after 9am, 9.14am 4 seated ticked in row W somewhere, clicked checkout, suspended for a bot!

D's got tickets about 11am.

ElleWoods15 · 31/08/2024 17:33

I suppose what I don’t get it now actual bots get through their bot filters, and yet lots of us have been kicked out for being bots.

The bot identifying tech they are using doesn’t seem to be working very well….!

Just depends what you like. I wouldn't pay a fiver to go to Taylor Swift as I don't like her music. I've paid £150 for Oasis, happily.

I don't think it can cope with the idea of a human sitting there for hours with no activity. It's literally not a human behaviour.

I do think there's a massive issue.

Re ballot idea above, there would be ways to verify identity doing it. But it's expensive. And ultimately the ticket companies don't really have any incentive to do that because they just want to sell all the tickets for maximum profit. The fact they've now started this surge pricing means they can effectively capitalise on the touts because they can cancel tickets and resell at the higher price because there's no transparency.

The law needs updating I think but politicians don't really understand the problem and it's not an issue that really is regarded as a priority. There's not really votes to be won from it.

Would you pay £ 500 + for Oasis?
I think the point is it's not worth paying way over the odds for anything.

Same with west end theatre prices. £ 300 for a 3 star Romeo and Juliet.. no thanks.

Popcorntv · 31/08/2024 17:39

I can’t get into Ticketmaster at all now. Hoping it’s just because I am overseas. I actually wanted to get tickets for something else for DM Christmas!

ElleWoods15 · 31/08/2024 17:40

Onyoupop · 31/08/2024 17:23

I got in finally and there is nothing 😞 What a waste of a day!

likewise just got in for 30th at Wembley to find nothing left 😭

I’m consoling myself that I always liked Damon and Alex better anyhow….

MuchasSmoochas · 31/08/2024 17:41

Gah have been trying all day and no joy. Grateful I saw them 5 times back in the day! There’s 2 ways to stop touting: resale on Twickets only with use of ID (Blur have done this before) or blockchain ticketing. However Viagogo give the artists a cut and some artists reserve tickets to go straight on Viagogo. It’s greed.

Bloody rip off merchant! Bet they only cost £100 each really. Hmm

Grin

Aquarius1234 · 31/08/2024 17:42

Maybe it should be two tickets per household.

YogaForDummies · 31/08/2024 17:47

Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw you out the queue
By now you shoulda somehow realised what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels it's worth 350
To see you now

Got in for 3rs Aug at Wembley and nothing left

The same thing happened for me. If you constantly re fresh tickets do appear but then they disappear before you can select them. I refreshed and tried so many times that it then kicked me out for being a bot. What a dreadful system :-(

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 31/08/2024 17:51

How do you get unsuspended?

Evenstar · 31/08/2024 17:54

I haven’t been accused of being a bot, but this did make me laugh

Oasis tickets
KatLiz · 31/08/2024 17:54

My son and his friend went on ticketmaster at 9.10 and got tickets straightaway (standing £150 for Wembley). No long queues, just straight in. I assumed that the concerts turned out to be less popular than expected until I saw this thread!

Same here! Kept selecting seats and pressing purchase, only to be told those seats are no longer available and then the 'redirecting you to checkout' page just hung with the spinning circle, for about 20 minutes and then I just got chucked out and couldn't log back in! Ffs

I'm stealing this!

MadisonAvenue · 31/08/2024 18:06

Three of us were trying for four tickets and we were happy to travel, I eventually got through mid afternoon for one of the Edinburgh dates but by then dynamic pricing had come into play and three out of the four of us weren’t prepared to pay that. Add in travel from the Midlands and we’d need an overnight stay too, it’d be ridiculous.
Only my younger son was happy to pay that (he hasn’t really got any financial commitments) so I eventually managed to get two standing tickets for him and his best mate. £728.95 once all of the fees were added on. Daylight robbery.
