Oasis tickets

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

Re the pricing, saw this earlier on Twitter from Robert Smith

Yep. That’s how it works. Company I am with also rejected this option when offered by TM

Gooseysgirl · 31/08/2024 13:10

Out of interest, were those of you who hit tickets on the mobile app or computer/laptop? My friend who got to the purchase but before getting thrown out was on the app, but started out at 21,000 in the queue where was I was up in the 80,000s

Gooseysgirl · 31/08/2024 13:10

Should add, I'm on a computer

Anyone know if there’s any reasonably priced tickets left for the 26th July ? Not sure whether to give up

No there isn't, I got through about 30 mins ago. The cheapest listed was £250 for platinum but wouldn't let me add to basket even when I tried. I tried a few types to see if I could add them but I couldn't.
Standing tickets were £350 (in demand pricing apparently)

NoMoreFalafelForYou · 31/08/2024 13:13

I’m at 90,000, do I have any hope at all? Am trying for a Wednesday at Wembley as thought it’d be less in demand. Anyone know if there are tickets left?

It becomes like gambling. People go nuts and pay more than they can afford due to Fear Of Missing Out. Its how high pressure sales methods work.

If you've spent hours trying to get tickets, its sunk costs mentality.

Know you price limit BEFORE you hit the ticket screen. It does send people mental.

I think the thing is, knowing that its £500 on resale and that you would be prepared to pay that means its better to pay £500 for a premuim ticket. If thats your budget then fair enough.

I wouldn't pay that much for even my fav bands. Two tickets or a holiday. Keep that in your mind.

I agree @RedToothBrush . It is a bit like gambling. People get a bit desperate - and hungry to get them. As you say FOMO. I know a few people who paid £600-700 for Taylor Swift tickets and I was like 'whaaaa?' Shock Each to their own but it seems bonkers (to me.) Again I understand people are different, but it really bugs me that people are enabling these rip off merchants.

And as I said earlier, I am furious with the hotels for charging 10-15 times more for a hotel room, purely because a big act is performing in town. Utter bloody con. When an area manager of a popular chain of hotels was asked (on the TV a few months ago,) why they had bumped up the room price from £75 a night to £900, she said because we need more staff and more loo roll, and little milks and coffee sachets, and more rooms need cleaning etc...

Yeah for sure, the hotel being full is going to cost more - as there's more people, but not £900 a room per night. The hotel is full in the summer holidays and weekends sometimes, and it never (or very rarely) hits more than £180-£200 a night. (Some weekend/holiday times it's less than £100.) So why £900 because Taylor Swift is performing nearby? It's a rip off. And an absolute disgrace!

Filterphobia · 31/08/2024 13:16

Argh! That’s the date I’m in the queue for 45,000 in front @Prinnny

JumpstartMondays · 31/08/2024 13:17

I have just got in the ticket queue! Been out to a kids party and home again whilst queuing for the queue....

And now I'm 425k in the ticket queue 😭😭😭😭

Justme10 · 31/08/2024 13:17

@HeySummerWhereAreYou Thankfully I am close enough to not need a hotel, I wouldn't fancy paying those prices 😂

Bigfatsquirrel · 31/08/2024 13:17

Got to the "add to basket" stage. Website kept glitching and I wasn't able to checkout.

How are they really going to check all those tickets on stub hub and viagogo (from the real fans who got pre sale codes) and cancel them ?

Plantsineveryspace · 31/08/2024 13:18

Just got through to Tuesday at Murrayfield, nothing left then 2x £500 appeared. Waiting to see if payment goes through…

celestebellman · 31/08/2024 13:18

Hi we just got to the front of queue for Edinburgh on 12th August - when first got in looked like tickets were available (blue on seating plan) but then it all went grey with no tickets showing available.... so thinking must have sold out?!

Probably. They can then put them back up for resale and get £350 a pop themselves. Thats quite the motivation to crack down on the touts.

Great news. And yep, those prices are outrageous! Shock

dontforgetme · 31/08/2024 13:20

Got too 8000 in the ticket queue and got kicked out and not allowed back on due to me apparently being a bot.
What a fucking waste of 4+ hours.

Sandunesandseashells · 31/08/2024 13:22

I got to the end of queue and after several tries I found 3 excellent Cardiff seated tickets @ £205, entered card details, successfully authorised through Santander app and then it crashed on me! Still trying again but no luck yet.

Prinnny · 31/08/2024 13:23

Yeah it’s done I think, ridiculous they’re letting people still queue when there’s nothing left!

We got to the front of that queue an hour ago, and only the expensive tickets left, £250 minimum

NooNakedJacuzziness · 31/08/2024 13:25

I'd only go through this again if The Beatles reform with support from Prince.

Eldrick47s · 31/08/2024 13:26

Nextdoor55 · 31/08/2024 08:18

You want to see them in Cardiff 1st gig, because you want to catch them before they have an argument & split up again 😂

This isn't as far fetched as it sounds.

Literally anything could happen with these two.

I didnt think this reunion would happen (at least for a very long time). When they didn't come together to do that tribute concert for the victims of the Manchester Arena bomb, an event in their home city, and one you would have thought they would have been a cert for, I thought that's them done.

The 26th at Wembley about 15 mins ago was only the pricey packages and surge priced standing tickets at £350. But even when I tried to add them to the basket it wouldn't let me (not sure if I would actually have let myself buy them had I been successful!). Ah never mind, they probably would have been shit anyway 🤣

really useful info - thanks for that !
