She has eaten him.

My rather splendid female spider has today eaten her mate.

I am a little sad, they have been sharing a web for the last couple of weeks, I was beginning to think they had a Understanding . But alas, today Mr spider is no more.

For reference they are not pets, rather squatters that inhabit my ceiling.

Came here to say this 😂

Shan5474 · 18/07/2024 23:49

Ooh did she eat him whole?? I walked in on a lady the other day who’d spun a guy up and was holding him like a burger with her weird little teeth in him. I assumed they just sucked out the insides but I didn’t stick around to watch

PickAChew · 19/07/2024 00:11

Those little skinny clear spiders look dead, most of the time, but I'm currently watching one getting quite the workout as it's being buzzed by a gnat.

StarCourt · 19/07/2024 00:59

Nah he's out there somewhere darking on somebody's washing

MorrisseyGladioli · 19/07/2024 01:02

He's legged it.

He probably didn’t do his share of the web, and instead of LTB, she ATB.

I can see new MN advice…. never mind LTB it’ll be ETB (Eat the B*stard)

Noooo. He’s wiping his willy on it!

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 19/07/2024 01:45

I mean, chances are that she bit it off anyway

Shall we call her Lorena?

This did make me laugh.

Sadly, if any sign of baby spiders Henry will be enlisted. I'm progressive, but There Are Limits.

Nooooooooo 🕷️ 🕷️ babies are SO cute. Henry's don't enjoy them anyway!!

ClickClack300 · 19/07/2024 01:53

🤣😂

DamnYerEyes · 19/07/2024 07:16

How exciting, babies! 🕷️ 🕷️ 🕷️

😂😂😂 best comment of the day....

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 19/07/2024 07:28

We had baby 🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️ in our bathroom as I like to have 🕷️ lodgers too. I sadly missed the ritual slaughter of their DSF but I can confirm they do all seem to disappear off very quickly! I wonder if they are worried that DSM might get hungry again....

If only we could all eat our husbands when they got on our nerves.

So much easier than burying them under the patio.

OnHisSweaterAlreadyMomsSpaghetti · 19/07/2024 07:40

Does she know how hard life is as a single mum? Hope she’s not expecting to get social housing with 100 babies 😬😂

BileBeansSara · 19/07/2024 07:42

She was probably sick of him spending all day in the web.

'Spidersnet' full of 'Eat the Bastard' advice.

gardenmusic · 19/07/2024 07:47

I really couldn't manage mine in one sitting. Must be at least 10 days worth there.

Rather like the Mumsnet chicken.

TheLastTrainForTheCoast · 18/07/2024 23:30

Mr and Mrs Spider were together late morning when I said goodbye to them (I know, I need a dog, but work patterns and all that)

By the time I can home 13 hours later there was just a leg. By the time I cooked dinner, leg was gone.

I'm impressed yours would last 10 days. Not only would mine be bitter, they would also be full of gristle.

Opizpu could be planing the mumsnet chicken method with hers, (all alongside massive salad)

Timeforanewnam · 19/07/2024 07:49

I sympathise with her . Hopefully she will be judged fairly by a court of her peers

Iloveyoubut · 19/07/2024 07:50

TheLastTrainForTheCoast · 18/07/2024 23:18

I'd imagine mine would taste bitter .

Brilliant! 😂

C1N1C · 19/07/2024 08:00

Well many spiders do this thing where the male's 'penis' breaks off inside her 'vagina' and stays there doing its thing... so she'll have something nice to remember him by :)

Nono, baby spiders are so cute. They are very tiny, the first day their legs are all wobbly like toddlers, then in a couple of days they are teenagers and they all leave home (I watched a mummy spider guard her eggs for weeks and didn’t tell my husband where so he couldn’t get them!)

LittleGreenDuck · 19/07/2024 08:18

I'm not convinced that having a whole family of spiders living inside Henry is an idea that is going to end well.
