I've just seen Biden introduce president Zelensky as President Putin....its just beyond sad now, surely this has to be a big sway to stepping down?

Trump is an absolute lunatic at times but sometimes you need a lunatic to beat a lunatic.
I think Trump is the only person who scares Putin.
Trouble is that's the only thing Trump is good at.

Oh an actual question about a true NATO issue. Clever. He might handle this better??

Was that the question from the Polish journalist? If so it was a great question, asked eloquently.

And earlier on, Kier Starmer said he was fine...

Yeah, that may come back to haunt him.

Did you really expect Starmer to go to his first NATO summit and call his host senile?

Vespanest · 12/07/2024 01:22

The fact that there is even a question about cognitive ability is just astounding and he’s even answering.

No, it’s just bad luck for Starmer to have been in that position.

HRTQueen · 12/07/2024 01:23

Of course Starmer is going to support Biden, right now he is still the president being a leader of a country you need to be diplomatic

and this is an issues for democrats to deal with not world leaders

ileftmypotatointheovenallnight · 12/07/2024 01:24

I can't bring myself to watch it.

Star555 · 12/07/2024 01:24

HRTQueen · 12/07/2024 00:48

Yes I think he did

i think journalists are too embarrassed for him to mention it

Yes he called Kamala Harris "Vice President Trump" 😧

@KenAdams yes that’s the one. I feel that if they’d all done that and stayed on topic it would have shown his capabilities (or lack of) better.
on a separate issue did you go backpacking in Western Europe??😍

That, along with calling Zelensky Putin, is painfully sad.

What a terrible, miserable legacy. Poor man.

murasaki · 11/07/2024 23:53

It's not 'or', it's 'and'. Obama was a man, so that overrode black to a certain extent. She's a black woman. No chance.

Absolutely. Post Obama Kamala Harris’ colour is a minor point (which is a big step forward) but I’d wager there’s no chance in hell that there will EVER be a female US president.

My in laws are American and lifelong Democrats and they say they would vote for Trump over a woman. They were very against Hillary Clinton running.

fridaynight1 · 12/07/2024 01:42

They would rather prop up this poor failing elderly man and have Trump as next President than have Kamala step in.

slipperypenguin · 12/07/2024 01:42

Wtf did he respond to the question about misnaming VP Trump by saying to "listen to him" 🤯

Ha - yes that's me! Not many people get the reference - I panicked when I had to create a username on here and it was the only pseudonym I could think of!

powershowerforanhour · 12/07/2024 01:46

Thought experiment: can you imagine if an 81 year black woman somehow was the candidate and put up a performance like that?

slipperypenguin · 12/07/2024 01:42

I expect in his head it was meant to be something like "look who's talking" or "listen to all the rubbish he says".

Lavengro · 12/07/2024 01:47

It's a shocker that we're even having this conversation so close to the election. It's obvious even to a layperson that Biden is in steep decline. His team have obviously been covering for him for a really long time and it's coming home to roost at a really, really bad time for global politics.

Harris isn't up to the job and none of the other names being mentioned (Gavin Newson, Gretchen Whitmer etc) have the profile or reach imo.

According to polls done after the recent awful debate, only Michelle Obama polls better than Trump. God knows why she'd want to put herself through it but I really wish she would for the sake of averting Armageddon.

Vespanest · 12/07/2024 01:52

It’s the own goal of it all, the only question that really should be getting asked is how the effing hell is Trump still standing and instead it is Biden and cognitive tests.

FinalCeleryScheme · 12/07/2024 01:53

Where’s that odd poster who was always defending Biden as a rootin’ tootin’ fit as a fiddle good ol’ boy, y’all?

There’s some bad, bad delusion going on among Dems. So now we’re getting to get a convicted criminal and massive civil judgment debtor in the White House.

Whoopee fucking doo.

Spencer0220 · 12/07/2024 02:01

I watched and it was awful.

Why isn't Harris up to the job? I get the issue with some people not wanting to vote for a woman.

But that aside, why isn't she suitable?

Trump does not scare Putin.

If anything, watch how Trump looks up to Putin.

Then worry.

The fact that she's a woman is considered one of her advantages! Michelle Obama for example tops lots of 'who do you want to run for president' polls, so there isn't an evident aversion to women.

In early interviews and press conferences after becoming vice, Kamala Harris performed poorly. There are also widespread and persistent stories about her staff turnover (said to be due to the toxic working environment in her office).

anon4net · 12/07/2024 02:30

I support the Dems through and through and want them to remain in power. I firmly believe at this stage Biden and his wife are making a massive mistake continuing as they are. The later they wait for his resignation, the less likelihood there will be any chance of keeping Trump out of the White House.

I don't think Kamala Harris will win against Trump. I think the only real option is Michelle Obama though she doesn't want the role and who could blame her.

Democrats needed to be planning from the beginning for Biden's replacement as the Democratic nomination. Apparently there's a Californian Senator who is tipped to be a possible candidate but time is running out to even give anyone else a fair go!

I wish Biden well. He needs to transition out of office. I hope Obama has a quiet word with him. It's time...
