I've just seen Biden introduce president Zelensky as President Putin....its just beyond sad now, surely this has to be a big sway to stepping down?

Dear God poor man, someone needs to stop this.

daisydalrymple · 12/07/2024 00:49

@fridaynight1 its so unbearable to watch 😭

Manxexile · 12/07/2024 00:50

Yet the new PM, Keir Starmer, thinks that Biden is on top of his game!

How did we end up electing a clown as PM? He'll ignore the evidence of his own eyes and ears to pursue some ideological bolleaux!

Article in NYT saying his advisors are working on getting him to stand down.

He was just asked about future debates and he's responded with an answer about arms for Ukraine.

SloaneStreetVandal · 12/07/2024 00:54

He's continually struggling to keep to his point. He's getting worse the longer this conference goes on. I don't think his memory issues are acute, but they're evident.

daisydalrymple · 12/07/2024 00:55

@Manxexile to be fair to KS he couldn’t really say anything else. I posted last night that I felt KS looked so uncomfortable with Biden, but I feel they are all trying to be supportive until it comes officially. He’s not going to last until November. No way.

crumblingschools · 12/07/2024 00:56

He is getting worse

doggolove · 12/07/2024 00:56

it's a slow moving car crash

Vespanest · 12/07/2024 00:57

This is him with some preparation, it just so painful to watch.

daisydalrymple · 12/07/2024 00:57

Oh an actual question about a true NATO issue. Clever. He might handle this better??

I'm pretty sure that Starmer, like Sunak, will have been briefed on the intelligence assessments of Biden's health, and told it isn't great. But he's not going to come out in public and say "Yep, the guy's ga-ga", is he? A certain amount of, well, diplomacy is required.

And apart from anything else, the state of health of the US president is a US domestic matter (even if of course what the US does affects us all). Other countries didn't take kindly to Trump being rude about their leaders, as I recall.

I agree.

fridaynight1 · 12/07/2024 01:01

Why are they allowing him to stand there and do this?

daisydalrymple · 12/07/2024 01:05

Oh no, it’s so disjointed is it really all coming through the ear piece?? I didn’t want to believe that, he talks fluidly, then stumbles, pauses and then speaks as if it’s being fed. 🥲

FinalCeleryScheme · 12/07/2024 01:06

He’s toast.

Harris is unelectable.

Newsom is the Dems version of a TV evangelist.

Clooney won’t stand and if he did he’d be slaughtered.

Trump is now a shoo-in. Sadly. But Biden has brought this about. He’s a career pol who knows no life without his flunkeys and CNN. He’d do time on the rack in the Tower of London before he’d give up political office.

Well done Dems, you’ve gifted us fucking Trump again.

SloaneStreetVandal · 12/07/2024 01:07

He's just rambling. Disjointed quotes and figures. He seems to be struggling to understand himself, keeps going off on convoluted tangents.

123letsblaze · 12/07/2024 01:07

Christ, he needs to be whiling away his last few years away in a rocking chair by a window not attempting to run a county. He's making a mockery out of the USA.

OvaHere · 12/07/2024 01:10

This constant rhetoric about being the only person for the job isn't terribly helpful or respectful of the wider democrat hopefuls.

SloaneStreetVandal · 12/07/2024 01:11

I thought bojo was a rambler! Biden makes bojo sound like Martin Luther King.

powershowerforanhour · 12/07/2024 01:13

Oh dear. Watching a proud, well educated person whose job involved swiftness of thought and smoothness of talk masking to the best of their ability and failing is sad. My dad used to have that tic of touching the side of his face too, Biden doesn't look like he knows he should be controlling that.

FinalCeleryScheme · 12/07/2024 01:14

MN is serving me ads for “granny annexes”!

LibertyDuck · 11/07/2024 23:49

Honestly, what a load of fuss about nothing. I bet most people have called a colleague by the wrong name or forgotten their name at some point.

There's been a lot more to it than that.

And most people aren't president of the most powerful nation on earth

Nanny0gg · 12/07/2024 01:18

And earlier on, Kier Starmer said he was fine...
