I'm not linking to it but I see Aaron Banks is agreeing with Robert Kennedy's suggestion that Ukraine should have made a peace deal with Russia from the off.
Which is a load of 💩 for so many bloody reasons. But I have absolutely no doubt where Banks leads Farage follows.
The Conservatives were far more embroiled with Russian money than we'll ever know but I think UK politics will get even murkier now.

Confused as to why they are worried about the ‘invasion’ on the south coast. Can’t we just make a peace deal and give up Kent or something?

I bought a bingo game with 10 different cards on Etsy as I had run out of time to make my own. I have also ordered a copy of this week’s New European paper as they have a huge centrefold Tory Wipeout Bingo poster https://shop.theneweuropean.co.uk/products/print-edition-394-free-deliver

bombastix · 27/06/2024 23:47

@Evenstar / yes I got one too! Thanks for posting. The front cover is ghastly!

KatPurrson · 27/06/2024 23:55

If you can stomach it look at Braverman FB page.

I'm am stressed to share a town with most of those responding

I clicked on about 15 of those who responded. The saner posts didn't have a location, but none of the "vote reform" posts had Portsmouth in the profile. They were Barnsley, London and Southend-on-Sea.

I'm not convinced she's that popular locally.

Is anyone awake?

Can't sleep now coz of the US presidential debate. Feeling very cast down

Cheguevarahamster · 28/06/2024 05:12

You OK @tobee? Not seen it but had a glance at twitter. A bit of a car crash?

tobee · 28/06/2024 05:37

Thanks for replying @Cheguevarahamster . Still awake here. Ahh! Usually my US politics following ds is very good at being calm and rational on these occasions but he thinks the debate was awful.

Could really put a crimp into getting rid of Tories celebrating for me if the next few days are still talking about getting Biden to stand down etc.

How can a democracy allow a convicted felon with such appalling views who just lies (but confidently ) , who's an out and out narcissist be elected president again??

IClaudine · 28/06/2024 06:10

I didn't watch the debate @tobee but just been reading about it. Doesn't sound good at all.

But don't despair, there is still a lot of time for Biden to recover from one bad debate. Or even stand down as the Democrat candidate and be replaced by someone younger? I suppose that is unlikely, but it does seem as though it is all really is too much for him.

I'm avoiding it.

Not my circus

verdantverdure · 28/06/2024 06:26

I'm very tired of the out of touch and touchy one but heartened by the thought that every time he's on the news doing his condescending smirk he's losing the Conservatives voters.

I've got to ring my great aunt this morning and advise her of her tactical vote to get the Tories out.

She's never voted any other way but Conservative to my knowledge. Feels seismic.

NoDishiForRishi · 28/06/2024 06:31

It'll all be over this time next week folks!

Currently the plan is to try and stay up as late as we can, pack DD off to school in the morning and catch some sleep before picking her up. It's all fell quite well work wise so we should be able to watch a good chunk of it.

Getting nervous now. It's the bloody hope that kills you.

IClaudine · 28/06/2024 06:32

I am really nervous too. Not sleeping well at the moment!

I am having some bizarrre dreams, last night Rishi had won and Dave Vanian had been cast as the Doctor and me as his companion (I bloody wish) and he was comforting me in the tardis that was now like the set of top of the pops in the 80's. It's all getting a bit much.

I was wondering where Aaron Banks was yesterday given the reported (and questionable) increase in Reforms support.

BIossomtoes · 28/06/2024 06:48

Yesterday really unsettled me too, the thought of having a Reform MP is just - words fail me. This last week is going to feel very long.

Improving education only 5% is frustrating.

Piggywaspushed · 28/06/2024 07:11

Although if framed as education funding might score higher?

It perhaps illustrates most people actually think teachers and schools are doing a good job. Another thing you wouldn't know if you looked at MN!

Zonder · 28/06/2024 08:01

I just posted this on another thread but I thought I'd share it here. I often think of it when there's any kind of debate / PMQ / BBCQT.

Two men who are erudite, calm, good at debate and keep it polite. Those halcyon days of Tony Benn and Roy Jenkins, eh?

Roy Jenkins and Tony Benn debate : The European Communities membership referendum, 1975 - Panorama

David Dimbleby chairs a debate on whether the UK should vote to remain in the Common Market, between Roy Jenkins of the Yes campaign (Britain In Europe), and...

bombastix · 28/06/2024 08:18

oh god Zonder that is painful. I mean look at the quality of who is speaking. It’s like night and day with now.

Jenkins and Benn were in the same cabinet at the time; remarkable by today’s standards.

i cannot wait for the spivocracy being kicked out
