Seat deadline tomorrow though. Also loads of donors have pulled out. Maybe they are in the doo doo 😂

I have my fingers crossed on some other seat related fuck up tomorrow as well

medianewbie · 06/06/2024 21:10

I'm paying in 'vase tax'. Found this in a charity shop today. Not to all tastes but I can see it on my mantelpiece.

Here is my cat tax from Greece. I'm still on holiday (and no, I'm still not Steve Baker lol).

Two mummy cats with 7 kittens between them at the hotel where I'm staying. Absolutely gorgeous.

They all say thank you for the new thread 😁

🚨A Cabinet Minister comments on #RichardHolden's selection in a safe seat with a 20k majority:

"He’s a tosser; it’s appalling"

Dorries was incredibly scathing about him on the News Agents podcast today.

Notonthestairs · 06/06/2024 21:38

Dorries managed to remind me of the dreadful shit we had to listen to under Johnson - Johnson has never lost an election (because he ran away). A genuine Conservative who won't campaign on their behalf because there is nothing in it for him. And the Privileges Committee were wrong about everything. 💩

Zero self reflection and zero respect for Parliament.

Putting himself before the commemoration of D-day.

Shameful.

Evenstar · 06/06/2024 21:42

There are no words, what a shameful way to treat our war dead and veterans 😡

BestIsWest · 06/06/2024 21:45

Nadine Dorries on the Newsagents. Crikey. Emily Maitlis was great.

Evenstar · 06/06/2024 21:50

Doubling down on his tax lies too by the look of it 🤬 https://x.com/bmay/status/1798803559863005272?s=61&t=xKCXjKa1-S6Ks0nSd_LXGg

Here's how to deal with the Fart Right...

TokyoSushi · 06/06/2024 22:24

Yes he seems to have raced back to do an ITV interview where he doubles down on the £2K tax thing.

Surely he must have known that D Day is one of those things you don't mess about with!

LittleBowSheep · 06/06/2024 22:24

I am utterly appalled and disgusted by Sunak slinking off early from the 80th Anniversary D-Day events. That is despicable beyond words.

It shows total and utter disrespect for those who gave their lives, those who survived and everyone involved in the campaign.

It does nothing but show the entire world what a vile, loathsome piece of turd he is.

Sunak manages to make me angry on a daily basis at the moment, but this really is something else 😡

Bigcoatlady · 06/06/2024 22:36

Don't feel angry with Sunak. I'm convinced he's not all there in the human department.

That doesn't mean I think he's autistic. I work with autistic people all the time and they are very much all there in the human department. There's something different that's odd about him.

I think fundamentally not wanting to stay for the whole day of D Day commemorations is weird. It's a unique event and with the last survivors won't happen again. Obviously very few of us can attend, but its weird for anyone not to want to stay if invited. So as I say I reckon some of his ordinary human curiosity and compassion circuits don't fire properly.

Holden being interviewed onC4 news.

What was it about the 20,000 strong majority around here that first attracted you to Basildon & Billericay?’

Wouldn’t it be delicious if he lost the seat?

DuncinToffee · 06/06/2024 23:04

Confirmed: Rishi Sunak returned from D-Day for ITV interview, @PaulBrandITV says on News At Ten

It was No10’s choice to do the interview today

I've been out for one evening and you lot have not only started a new thread, you're already up to page 5! I'll have to try a d catch up in the morning.

user8800 · 06/06/2024 23:05

The truly rich/uber wealthy simply do not behave like normal humans.

They just don't. They don't have to. Expecting them to is foolish.

Doesn't mean they aren't complete knoblords, though 🤔 🤷

Tories vow ‘£1,500 tax cut for parents’

Party says new plan to raise the threshold at which families paying Child Benefit Tax Charge will see 700,000 families benefit by an average of £1,500

Funded by (you guessed it) tax avoidance clampdown

It is the Tories' fourth major policy announcement this election funded by its £6bn tax clampdown

— National Service, £1bn
— Triple Lock Plus, £2.4bn
— New towns pledge, £60mn
— Child Benefit shake-up, £1.3bn

Leaves £1.3bn for further announcements...
