Interesting - south west looks a bit under catered for. Am I reading that correctly?

I think they can use Brexiteer tears.

water poisoning at no extra cost though.

The UK is living the dream.

I’m reading it as though we don’t transfer any water to other areas but we don’t need to have any transferred in either.

Although we do put cryptosporidium in it and tell you it’s safe to drink.

Excuse me. We pay the highest water rates in the country for that cryptosporidium and all the sewage filled beaches.

Sewage AND dead sea life, I'll have you know. Pollution's own BOGOF https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd11qeww6vyo

The beach at Birchington is great for catching anything bad floating about in SE. The stench of gasses from the rotting seaweed in the summer is enough to oxidise people's jewelry inside their homes!

At this rate we will be re-in acting Hogarth’s gin painting.

Saucery · 21/05/2024 19:37

We might be better off drinking small beer or wine than tap water soon.

Notonthestairs · 21/05/2024 19:40

Pint of wine surely.

DuncinToffee · 21/05/2024 19:44

Which Tory donor owns a bottled water company?

Bet a couple of them do, could explain a great deal.

Naturally they charge a premium for all that cloudy old fashioned style water with natural parasites for gut health @RafaistheKingofClay

Flipping southerners. Never happy.

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/05/2024 21:34

Better gut health you say? Better get on the next bus to Brixham. After all the antibiotics they pumped me full of I probably need some natural parasites.

"Police are being told to make fewer arrests because of the lack of space in prisons, The Times can reveal.
Chief constables are being advised to consider pausing “non-priority arrests”, and also to suspend operations that may trigger “large numbers of arrests”, until there is enough capacity in prisons across England and Wales."
"separate, internal letter from the NPCC to all 43 chief constables in England and Wales has warned that the government’s emergency measures are having an “unsustainable operational impact on policing”.
The NPCC warned that the emergency package of measures introduced by the government “risks public safety”. The crisis may also restrict police officers’ ability to respond to urgent calls or investigate crime, the letter said."

Rishi Sunak appears to bow to cabinet pressure over graduate visa scheme

The two-year period students can stay in the UK after finishing their degrees will stay in place after Lord Cameron and Jeremy Hunt made arguments to the prime minister.

It's almost as if they have no idea what they are doing.

DuncinToffee · 21/05/2024 22:54

They know what they are doing here

Rishi Sunak’s team blocked proposals to allow veterans to use their veteran IDs to vote because it would “open the floodgates” to students being able to use their ID cards too.

Perish the thought that students should be allowed to vote

The study sorted A&E pts into groups, ranging from life threatening emergencies to low acuity patients who could have been seen in a GP setting. The expectation was that 20-40% patients would fall into the low acuity group. The actual figure was just 4%

So I guess we can stop blaming the general public for being at A&E when they don’t need to be and start placing the plane for long waits where it needs to go.

Rishi is not having a good week is he? The cabinet are briefing against him.

Mercer on the train barefoot (yuch!) noting that Rishi isn't popular. No shit sherlock. https://twitter.com/p_j_chappell/status/1793012200849764415?t=iJJ4jqb9Z761c6ePSEOh0A&s=19

Morning everyone 👋

This is just like our House meetings last night. We were told by the assistant head to stop giving out so many detentions as the pastoral team can’t deal with the sheer number of complaints from pupils, parents and the admin side. Answer? Don’t give detentions!

Notonthestairs · 22/05/2024 07:21

So Mercer knew for a while that the veterans ID card wouldn't be accepted.

Less surprised at the gerrymandering from the Conservatives given Moggs comments and the desperation to keep power.

Alexandra2001 · 22/05/2024 07:55

I'll go first...

Russia has killed opponents abroad & China is heavily embedded in the UK (who is vetting all these HK ers?)

So i suspect he was poisoned with a yet unknown Bat virus

HannibalHeyes · 22/05/2024 08:07

Nothing to see here, just HM Treasury using Tory slogans and campaigning on behalf of the government...
