Good morning, everyone. 😊🥱
Uman, wgat an awesome achievement for your dgs! That's great! 🤗
Miss, you have a lot more patience than me to go berry picking again. Are you planning to make jam? I made jam for a few summers and really enjoyed that.

well, the cake didn't turn out as I planned. I'm stymied because baking is not new to me. I'm going to play around with it today, but I ran out to Whole Foods last night and bought a chocolate layer cake. I put decorations up, just balloons, and finished at 2am. The banner I bought is actually balloons that spell out, Halfway Around The Sun. I had forgotten I bought that. 🤦‍♀️
My toddler, Havoc, is sweetly trying to stick them back on the wall as they don't want to stay. The other balloons are holding, so far...😬

Getting my act together, today in this house !

I am ashamed to say that after the very stressful time I had over the past few weeks...housework slid 😕😵‍💫.

Some washing up and bleach down the toilet was all I managed 😕..

Funny how the bleach down the toilet every night routine never leaves me ..no matter how tough the day has been !
Possibly... because it is the easiest thing to manage 😂😂..

Anyhow....

House getting back in form ...

The "office" /spare room /3rd room /aka dumping ground ...has had to be re organised.

Ds 1 is coming home this weekend...this evening actually!

So the stuff I had in the bed has to come back into my room for now ..

Eventually...it will all go up into the wardrobe ...😭😭!!

Online shop came...
Big fry up brunch ready for tomorrow!

Ds's gf is vegan ....so a big fry up is his little trip to mammy is his big treat 😂😂.

She absolutely doesn't tell him what to eat ...but he just can't be bothered to do one for himself 😂.

He enjoys doing them ...so he might take over !

bizzey · 28/06/2024 17:05

He is coming up as a help for me .
He is a witness for some forms that I have been doing on behalf of mam.
When the person doing the forms with us ... mentioned a second person was needed ....we both looked at each other and said X ..my ds1's name ...and not her ds's !! 😂

mathanxiety · 28/06/2024 17:58

Wishing you a very happy anniversary, MissC

Hope you're able to relax a bit now, bizzey. It sounds as if your life is quite stressful at the moment.

penguinsa safe travels.

We have light rain here today after a perfect, clear, bright, sunny day yesterday.

I'm trying to find a veterinary surgeon to remove a fatty mass that's in Dcat's armpit, so to speak. Nobody has openings to even look at her for a while, and the upcoming Fourth of July holiday week is complicating things.

bizzey · 28/06/2024 18:23

Alexa is blasting out a bit of Queen ..
🎶Don't stop me now 🎶..

Way to finish the chores ..😂😂😂!!

bizzey · 28/06/2024 18:25

I had stopped though...to have a cuppa 😂😂

Anotherdayanotherhangover · 28/06/2024 20:10

Uman I'm in the north (though for the past couple of years I keep reading that we're in the East Midlands)Angry We are NOT!
Bizzey I had an acquaintance years ago whose favourite phrase was " Frish the loo and the rest will do" ( I don't think they make Frish any more?)

LuluBlakey1 · 28/06/2024 20:19

DS2 (almost 5) has shopped me to DH.
DD 'Daddy were you a good footballer?'
DH (usual reply) 'I was known as Bradford's answer to Eric Cantona.'
DS1 'Well Mummy said you were an ageing, podgy Eric Cantona.'
DH - raised eyebrow and steely stare at me.

bizzey · 28/06/2024 20:33

@Anotherdayanotherhangover
I use a duck product 😂...

So I quite like how that would rhyme 😂😂😂😂....

I think it might end with " duck " the rest !! 😂

MissConductUS · 28/06/2024 22:07

Lulu, never say anything to a child that you wouldn't want to be posted on Facebook. They have no sense of confidentiality.

DH gave me a beautiful hanging basket of impatiens for our anniversary and a lovely card with a drawing of two cats having a cuddle on the front. And my first zinnia flower has opened! 😁

What a gorgeous space Miss, no wonder you love it.

Raining this morning but nice to be up early and before the rest of the household.

Penguinsa · 29/06/2024 08:26

Thanks lovely thread people, have arrived home safely and reunited with all my boys. Floof is very happy and got back to his usual soft paw to wake me up. I am a bit dazed and very sleepy, lost my sense of taste and smell and coughing but mainly just tired.

Glad you had a lovely anniversary MissC.

So good to be back with Floof. He just looked at me like why did you leave me but was fine after 1 minute just looked again like who cares you are home now. Such a good natured boy.

DD is off to Kefalonia on 4th.

HildaTablet · 29/06/2024 09:56

Glad you got back safely, @Penguinsa

I hate to cast a downer on things but lost my sense of taste and smell and coughing but mainly just tired - worth doing a Covid test to be on the safe side?

Mumtobabyhavoc · 29/06/2024 10:24

Covid was my first thought, too, Hilda.
Penguinsa, hope you feel better soon! 💕
Miss, hanging basket is gorgeous!

The little celebration for baby's 6mos was nice. The cake I made actually wasn't too bad! Had duck for dinnee. Took lots of pics of baby.

Penguinsa · 29/06/2024 10:30

Thanks Hilda. I think it's likely COVID but am not that ill and think it will go with rest and drinking enough and a few paracetamol which can do now. There was a lot of coughing on flight over. Just glad got through holiday fine and saw everything quickly.

We had an interesting passenger on our Air Asia flight out, beautiful young British girl quite posh but appeared drugged up and came on flight after final call. Then was putting her bags everywhere whilst plane moving, went in emergency exit seats then they said flight taking off and she got up went to toilet as taking off then insisted on doing bags and when they told her she was incharge of emergency exit, pretty scary thought, she put eye mask on and feet on seats. Plane landed and she was saying no idea if she had her bags or not then she started arguing with immigration that they ran an unnecessary service and should be eliminated, they just laughed and let her in. We saw her later on a boat shaking like in drug withdrawal with her on off boyfriend from flight. Quite a few hippy sometimes drugged up types over there and a lot of private school posh people, DD said these were not two seperate groups and she could be right. 😂Very nice people but out of it or giving lectures to their kids on the importance of kindness and world peace etc.

Penguinsa · 29/06/2024 10:30

Thanks Havoc. Glad you had a lovely dinner.

MissConductUS · 29/06/2024 21:48

I'm glad you're home safe and sound, Penguinsa, and I'm glad Floof wasn't too cross with you for leaving. We had a cat who would give us the "you don't exist" treatment for days if we left for too long.

Blueberry picking was fun this morning. This was the first Saturday they opened the blueberry fields, so the bushes were lush with fruit. I'll probably make blueberry pecan bread tomorrow. We did get some cider donuts with cinnamon sugar at the farm shop.

We'll be off to dinner at the wedding venue restaurant shortly. I'm looking forward to the newlyweds coming home tomorrow and hearing about their time in Japan.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 29/06/2024 22:28

Penguinsa, I think that's likely what we've just had, too. I also think a milder version (thankfully, after 3x last year!) as I also lost sense of smell. Not just that, but all I could smell past two weeks was heat/burning which was how it was last year. Most annoying!!!

Managed to get into garden earlier and pull out potato plants & weeds, aerate soil and pick lettuce. Looks so much better and it's ready for some new plants.

Penguinsa · 30/06/2024 11:58

Hope you had a lovely dinner and catch-up MissC.

That's great you got gardening done Havoc. I have just ordered more plants for Wed evening so we can plant after that.

DD went out yesterday to a Greenday concert in London in an impressive display of energy after an active holiday and came back in early hours, enjoyed it but seemed baffled as old people we have never heard of Greenday.

DH is going to make a Sunday roast. I am still very tired though taste and smell are returning but still adjusting to timezones and I slept very little on holiday.

bizzey · 30/06/2024 16:40

Well ...Brunch ended up being a late Sunday lunch 😂😂😉!

DS2 decided to come as well ...but he was late getting here ..(aka ...he didn't wake up in time 😂!)

We all enjoyed it and ds2 (chef ) took over towards the end !

That have gone up to see mam ...she is going to be in an overdose of grandma euphoria!
She was expecting 1 GS ...now she has 2 visiting at the same time 😂.!

They will be back here for the football and luckily I have a pudding
,, lemon torte thing .. defrosting to get us through what could be a very painful football match 😂😂!

MissConductUS · 30/06/2024 17:17

Penguinsa, you must have an awful case of jet lag.

Havoc, I am really trying to not get covid. There's an updated trivalent booster coming this fall, so I'm holding on for that.

Bizzey, what did you serve for brunch?

Diner last night at the Inn where we had the wedding was lovely.

DD and SiL are home, and still adjusting to the time change. We made them some breakfast and heard about their time in Japan. SiL is now taking a nap.

DH is taking the newlyweds car shopping tomorrow.

MissC ....it was just a big fry up !

" Posh " sausages , bacon , eggs ( (cooked to preferences by ds ! so some fried , some poached )
hash browns , mushrooms , toast and fried toast ...ohhh and black pudding !

Washed down with posh coffee from the coffee dodah thing that ds1 bought one Christmas for me

Serving up the pudding now that it is 1/2 time in the match !

bizzey · 30/06/2024 19:02

Ohh boy !
We now have an extra 30 mins of pain to go through!!

I think we need more pudding !! 😂😂
