Do you think Michael Jackson was guilty?

InnocentOrGuilty · 12/05/2024 09:48

Of the sexual abuse of boys.
I'm interested in a poll.
G = you think he was definitely guilty
I = you think he was innocent
(Stemming from a debate with DH last night!)

Yes. Much as it saddens me. Hiding in plain sight. It was so obvious but he groomed us (his fans) into believing he was special and childlike and it was ok for him to have little boys in his bed.

This is an interesting comment about “grooming” the fans. I was a big Lost Prophets fan but when Ian Hawkins was convicted, I deleted all their albums and threw out my T-shirts. I still listen to MJ from time to time and my kids know the lyrics to his songs too. I have wondered in the past why I can listen to his music and able to distance the man from his music, but not with IH.

Edit: I meant quite rightly we shouldn’t listen to IH but why is it so different for MJ?

catin8oots · 12/05/2024 11:04

Guilty.

Absolute dodgepot. Clear as day.

Rainbowshit · 12/05/2024 11:05

Guilty.

I was a huge fan. I wouldn't choose to out his music on but can separate the music from the artist when it comes to other people playing it

hangingonfordearlife1 · 12/05/2024 11:05

no i don't think so

Begsthequestion · 12/05/2024 11:09

Hell yeah. G. The man had a kids' fairground built in his backyard FFS. The millionaire version of "would you like to see some puppies?" 😣

I think he was bumped off too. Listening to Katt Williams and Jaguar Wright interviews recently has been extremely eye opening.

yeesh · 12/05/2024 11:10

G

Mamette · 12/05/2024 11:15

Yes, G

I notice the music creeping back more and more. At first I always switched it off as it made me feel sick. Now I think I’m getting a bit desensitised to it.

Chanel05 · 12/05/2024 11:18

Guilty. For some reason, he has had a "free pass" because he's dead. If he were still alive, perhaps he'd have faced worldwide persecution.

He has legend status around the world and his music is iconic, which is probably why the allegations against him are brushed over.

Singleandproud · 12/05/2024 11:19

I don't think anyone will truly know with so much money at stake and protecting reputations etc.

La Toya's statement was the most condemning as she was someone so close to him but she rescinded it. I wouldn't be surprised though, it sounds like all the Jackson's were abused, the question is whether it had messed Michael up so much that he actually knew it was wrong if he did do it? Substantial payments to the families suggest that he did if they were indeed a payoff. He clearly didn't live on this planet and I'd almost hold the parents and his team more responsible than him if it was happening / or at least very questionable behaviour like him wanting to sleep in the same bed as your son for months and they should have stepped in long before.

Macaulay Culkin spoke out that yes he had slept in Michaels bedroom but what people didn't know was that his bedroom was massive -like the size of some people's houses and dorm like, but he had a fairly traumatic life himself with an abusive father and troubled siblings and a drugs problem he has always stood up for Michael.

I'm on the app so can't vote but was only talking to DH about this yesterday that the BBC have no qualms about playing MJ songs on the radio, which to my mind is almost akin to running repeats of Jim'll Fix It.

I 100% think Michael Jackson was guilty but he somehow seems entirely uncancellable.

Yes - that's pretty much what led to a discussion in my house!

Also if he just loved kids where were all the little girls? Always pretty little boys of a certain age.

StarShipControl · 12/05/2024 11:22

I think he was guilty and his childhood was horribly abusive. MJ's dr claimed that he MJ was chemically castrated as a child by his father to preserve his voice.
That's awful if true.

InnocentOrGuilty · 12/05/2024 11:22

Overwhelming majority say G - I think only one person has said I.

(Sorry, don't know how to do an actual pill in the app.)

Edited

I don’t like listening to either of them any more and I loved them

HavfrueDenizKisi · 12/05/2024 11:28

Guilty absolutely

IncompleteSenten · 12/05/2024 11:32

G
Yes I think he was guilty

AderynBach · 12/05/2024 11:38

Yes, he was very obviously guilty.

That was according to the doctor who killed him though. Not sure I'd trust him.

Jackson put on the high voice, apparently as vocal training to keep his range high, or to appear less threatening. There are recordings of him speaking and singing much lower as well.

Tbh if Jackson was anyone else less famous or rich, he might well have been chemically castrated via a court order anyway.

G

curiousasacat · 12/05/2024 11:44

G.
No normal 40 year old man insists on sharing their bed with young boys unless they have an ulterior motive.

GingerPirate · 12/05/2024 12:34

Yes. "G".
Full stop.

UseOfWeapons · 12/05/2024 12:38

G

Pugdogmom · 12/05/2024 12:41

Absolutely guilty

ramonaquimby · 12/05/2024 12:43

One of my kids went to NYC on a school trip and the school staff chose MJ The Musical to go and see as one of their outings. I was quite pissed about this, my kid wouldn’t have chosen to watch it, their peers were really unimpressed at the choice

ChaoticCrumble · 12/05/2024 12:45

G - obviously
